It is so unfortunate that people don't consider the lives of their children and generations to come when wallowing in sentiments
Save these your rants and show them to your grandchildren that you were one of those that supported a president that tried withholding power by force

I am disappointed that this kind of overly sentimental, unfactual, misleading and mischievous post could make front page
IS THIS WHAT NAIRALAND IS ALL ABOUT?
Shame on those who dignified this post with publicity
Shame on the moderators as well

My prayer is that may Allah grant understanding of Islam to those who sincerely desire to know. I feel that one of those may benefit from my clarifications
As for those that question just to make mockery of The Path to Success, then Allah alone is the All knowing and He is just
1) Meccans are not the only Arabs
2) There was no one living in Mecca before the arrival of Hajar ( Ismail's mum) & Ismail. The Zamzam fountain which Allah miraculously provided to quench Ismail's thirst was what brought people to Mecca as the place was formerly a dry desert unsuitable for human habitation
3) Prophets are sent to specific people/ nations. Abraham & Ismail were not sent to the people of Mecca
4) The people of Mecca had received no prophetic guidance before the time of Prophet Muhammed ( Upon whom be Peace)
5) Prophet Muhammed performed miracles and prophesies many of which have come/ are coming to past. ( a google search on this will suffice)
6) Prophet Muhammed (PBUH) was the only Messanger sent to the whole word

I hope this suffices

I am willing to clarify any further reasonable observation if I can

Peace
PoliticsRe: Jonathan Will Win, APC Is A Fragile Anti-Jonathan Setup —Brookings by denigma2(m): 1:56am On Jan 21, 2015
The annoying thing about all these foreign intelligence agencies is that they always make us feel like they know Nigeria more than us based on some interactions, perceptions and news.
What is much more annoying however is the fact that most Nigerians would still believe them hook, line and sinker even when they know the reality on ground is opposite of what is being proclaimed.
We all said we want Change and they are claiming we want power to return to the North and just being anti-jonathan.
Abeg, US and all other doom mongers, get your facts right before blowing your unnecessary trumpets

The Change we seek lies in the realisation that our daily individual actions and inactions will affect ourselves, families, Nigeria and coming generations positively or otherwise and although someone needs to be the choirmaster, we've all got to sing along.

GEJ must go!!!

Assalam alaykum
May Allah reward all those making efforts to ensure that the children she left behind get to live comfortably
Can those who are directly involved with knowledge of their ages, educational level and available relatives come up with a long term plan for their schooling, feeding and other needs.
With this we can have an estimate of what is required monthly and we can then solicit for regular donations from members. One can then personally earmark a constant monthly contribution ( maybe from N100 to millions)
In shaa Allah this will enhance the continuity of support for the kids and Sadaqatul Jaariyah for the donors
Christianity EtcRe: How Do You Know Your Religion Or Denomination Is The Right One by denigma2(m): 2:08am On Dec 14, 2014
tebirim:
Though our parents introduced us to Christianity from small, i love it and that was the best decision they ever made... My religion is the best or right one because i feel secured in Christianity and as a Christian. If Jesus could die for me on the cross, Jesus then he deserves my worship and i bless God that Im a part of the Christian community.
And how did you come to the conclusion that others do not feel secure in their religion or that Jesus died for YOU?
Christianity EtcRe: How Do You Know Your Religion Or Denomination Is The Right One by denigma2(m): 12:56am On Dec 14, 2014
The reality is that in order to answer the question, of which religion is the right one, we've got to think for ourselves based on available information.
We've got to think from the known to the unknown
If per adventure I find myself inside a moving train or a bus, which kind of questions would I ask myself? Why am I here? Where is this train going to? Where am I coming from? Who placed me here? What is expected of me?...
Everyone other thing would be insignificant until I find answers to these questions.
Unfortunately, we've all taken these life defining questions for granted. If we spend our entire lives seeking the reasons, essence and source of our existence, it would be worthwhile.
We end up depending on others for answers. Lets ask ourselves. Can we depend on another stranger's description when locating a new place. Then why depend on others for answers to these questions. It will be unacceptable if we agree with others' opinions on these hook, line and sinker without thinking through them thoroughly.
Read the Quran, Bible, Torah e.t.c and ask yourself some important questions:
Can Jesus be God?
After death what next?
Who is my Creator?
Why did He create me?
FashionRe: About Female Dressing: Lessons From The Hijab by denigma2(m): 11:54am On Dec 13, 2014
This OP's experience is a typical experience of 'live with them & not read about them' to judge them. The rest of the world, even some Muslims thinks the use of correct hijab is oppression, enslavement and debasement of the Muslim woman.
The pros of covering up are numerous whereas it has no cons. Health, moral, societal and spiritual benefits result from covering up for females.
The reality is that most people just follow the crowds, the CNN, Fox News, BBC etc of this world when passing judgements . They fail to realise that our Creator knows what is best for us.
Can someone just state one benefit of exposing one's body to the world?
Unfortunately, most people would never experience what the OP went through and would still cling on to their erroneous stereotype of hijab being barbaric.
I implore the OP to explore other aspects of Islam to realise its beauty
Cheers

A person's intelligence is measured by the quality of their questions. If you know the answer to the question, how would that help your worldly or spiritual life? The OP just feels like wasting his/her and our time. The first commenter has answered perfectly, yet you keep rabble rousing.
Christianity EtcRe: What Is The Significance Of Ram In Ileya Celebration by denigma2(m): 12:21am On Oct 04, 2014
Holy Quran 22:36
------------------

And the Budn (cows, oxen, or camels driven to be offered as sacrifices by the pilgrims at the sanctuary of Makkah.) We have made for you as among the Symbols of Allah, therein you have much good. So mention the Name of Allah over them when they are drawn up in lines (for sacrifice). Then, when they are down on their sides (after slaughter), eat thereof, and feed the beggar who does not ask (men), and the beggar who asks (men). Thus have We made them subject to you that you may be grateful. Holy Quran 22:37
------------------

It is neither their meat nor their blood that reaches Allah, but it is piety from you that reaches Him. Thus have We made them subject to you that you may magnify Allah for His Guidance to you. And give glad tidings (O Muhammad SAW) to the Muhsinun (doers of good).
Christianity EtcRe: What Is The Significance Of Ram In Ileya Celebration by denigma2(m): 12:17am On Oct 04, 2014
I appreciate you desire to learn. 1) 'Ram fight' is forbidden in Islam. We are enjoined to show mercy and kindness to animals. 2) The major significance of the ram is Sacrifice as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham ), who was ready to kill his only child in obedience to God's instructions. Thus we are to always obey God's commands regardless of how difficult they may seem. 3) By sharing the meat with our families, the poor and our neighbours, as instructed in the Quran, we are strengthening the bonds of kinship, helping the needy and also promoting communal unity and brotherhood.
IslamRe: Lessons Learnt from the Hadith Of The Lost Necklace by denigma2(m): 5:54pm On Sep 28, 2014
Lessons learnt:
1) Pride and allegiance to one's lineage, tribe or nationality to such an extent that it makes us blind to the atrocities committed by our kinsmen, families or compatriots.
2) Believing, spreading and acting on rumours and hearsays, i.e there is so much falsehood on the internet about politicians, religious scholars, celebrities e.t.c nowadays, it is best to not damage people's dignity and honour by acting on unverified statements

May Allah make us better Muslims
