It is really a shame that these jokers are coming up with excuses.

After 16 years in power and $20 billion power fund, we are still in darkness and this joker is beating chest with 4,000MW.

Are we still not in darkness.

Or did you give PMB 16 years to fix the problem and he did not?

Did you give PMB $20 billion to fix the problem and he didn't

How sad.

To hell with your lies , even your statement says power supply crashed to 1327 the week Jonathan left office , before that crash which was even sabotage was power generation not at 4500 mws and an installed capacity of 8000 MWs which this govt is still tapping from ..For your information Jonathan built 3 times more power plants than all the previous govts combined and it's a fact ..Are you aware that under this evil govt power has even crashed to 1000 Mws thrice yet you kept quiet ..show me a single powerbplant Buhari has built and I keep quiet ..The only work Fasholas has been doing is getting gas to orphaned power plants all completed by Jonathan .

So, it dropped under jona because of sabotage? Why and who was sabotaging?

Nigeria’s power generation at “all-time low”; crashes to 1,327MW

May 22, 2015 Premium Times

Nigeria’s overall electricity generation has dropped to an unprecedented low of 1,327 megawatts, the Ministry of Power said Friday, a week before the transfer of power from President Goodluck Jonathan to President-elect Muhammadu Buhari.

Handing over the duties of the Nigerian Navy to terrorists and giving billions that should have been spent on the Nigerian Navy to terrorists was the most disastrous and unpatriotic in the history of mankind.

1. you are sitting here fuming that the NAVY wasn't well equipped and our ships are not up to the task.

Were they up to task after handing over their funds to terrorists?

2. The $2 billion jona stole and gave to Dasuku/ATM to share with his PDP friends and cronies could have bought many fighter jets and warships.

3. The PDP/JONA together spent 16 years in office, so tell us exactly what they did to better the Nigerian military and the Navy in general?

After sitting, watching, looting and stealing military budgets of $6 billion and rendering the Navy worthless, they called in the terrorirts to take over.

Sounds funny..but how can a company that has no rights be increasing toll fares.

We acquired LCC's rights to avoid toll increase- Lagos Govt -2013

The Lagos State Government has justified the acquisition of the concession rights of the Lekki Concession Company (LCC), the concessionaire for the Eti-Osa Lekki-Epe Expressway, as an attempt to curb unwarranted increment in the tolls being collected.
But a source close to the Governor’s Office  also said on Wednesday that this decision being taken just after two years of the 30-year Build, Operate and Transfer agreement to upgrade, expand and maintain the about 50-kilometre road, was a result of heated controversy since commencement.
Besides, while presenting the request of government for approval of supplementary on Tuesday, the State Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Ben Akabueze, told the State Executive Council that he current concessionaire has in fact proposed another 20 per cent increase in current toll rate collected on the road.

However you made a statement that struck a cord when you asked how security of waterways was given to so called militants than the Nigerian navy.
let me school you a little .
the NN has a lot of deficiencies in patrolling it exclusive economic zone. EEZ. That is why NIMASA was created, to help solve that issue, to ensure that internal waterways are safe while the navy performs it's major duty of securing the greater naval integrity of the nation since we do not have a coast guard.
FYI, before you start measuring tompolo cos I know where your heading to, several security agencies before and now are contracted by NIMASA and sanctioned by the NAVY( note this word), with the NAVY building up it's moribund assets yes from the time of GEJ, they still have very little capacity to cover all strategic inland systems but they always keep a sharp eye for this SEC agencies. The vessel may be private but they know where they are, and what they do.

In your own view they are militants, but you've forgotten that part of the amnesty agreement was integration into major apparatus after adequate training. This are guys that have been using propeller chains to cut out boats of the Army Amphibious teams in the ND, tackling them like mad, and making operation pulo shield a hell before the implementation.
they know the creeks and are trainned to do their job.

Were they approved, yes
are they regulated , yes
was there a need for them, yes.
as far the police still hasn't gone deep in waterway policing and we don't have a Standing coast guard they will continue to exist , why don't you check under your messiah and see how many more are operational.

If you want to make noise, do so with things you know the nitty gritty of.

Gracias Amigo
Nigerian Navy is a FG institution and if there are any deficiencies, it's the FG's job to fix the deficiencies.

You don't hand over your National security assets and obligations to rag tag terrorists and militants? Who does that?

If the Navy was bad, why not spend the billions they gave to terrorists on the Nigerian Navy to make it better instead?

Economy

Mr. Jonathan could not sustain the modest economic growth recorded by his government initially. He could not save for the rainy day when the price of crude oil reached very high levels; subsequently depleting Nigeria’s foreign reserves and incurring a huge debt profile as soon as there was a dip in the price of crude in the international market.

Mr Jonathan inherited as much as $60 billion in foreign reserve but plundered it to as low as $40 billion in five years.

As at June 2014, the country’s external debt rose by 40 per cent to $9.377 billion and a domestic debt of $47.653 billion.

Though inflation was kept at a single digit, it was a faux strength as companies struggled to survive and the country continually ranked poorly in the ease of doing business index by the World Bank.

Despite his promises, again he could not revive the manufacturing sector. Companies complained of incurring huge cost due to their reliance on diesel. The textile industry remained moribund. Poverty remained widespread and youth employment was at an all time high.

5. Crude oil theft

During the Jonathan administration, pirates and crude oil thieves were lords. Pirates surrounded the Nigerian water ways like water hyacinth stealing crude from the country’s pipelines with little or no hindrance. The ill-equipped and poorly trained navy proved to be grossly incapable of arresting the situation.

Instead of training and adequately equipping the navy and other security agencies to protect the country’s source of wealth, the task of pipeline protection was handed to militias in the Niger Delta and elsewhere for several billions of naira annually. Yet, instead of the theft of oil to decrease it remained a major drain of resources. According to the Chief of Naval Staff, Usman Jibrin, the country lost crude valued more than N1.18 billion daily to oil thieves (N433.62 billion annually).
Imagine the president and leader of a sovereign Nation handing over National security and his country's waterways to terrorists and militants instead of the Nigerian NAVY.

The damage GEJ inflicted on Nigeria is immeasurable and will take years and even decades to undo.

1. Power Generation.

In 2010, when Mr Jonathan was sworn in as substantive president after the death of his former boss, Umaru Yar’Adua, power generation in Nigeria was 3,000 mega watts. On Friday, when he was handing over to his successor, power generation had dropped to less than 2000 mega watts.

The need to prioritise power generation and availability to Nigerians was acknowledged by Mr Jonathan early in his administration. In 2011, while seeking support to be elected president after leading the country for one year following the death of Mr. Yar’Adua, the ex-president declared to diplomats at the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa, UNECA, and the African Union, AU, in Addis-Ababa that:

“If I’m voted into power, within the next four years, the issue of power will become a thing of the past. Four years is enough for anyone in power to make a significant improvement and if I can’t improve on power within this period, it then means I cannot do anything.”

Power across Nigeria is at an all time low with Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory, having just 5 megawatts.

The F16 Falcon cost 18 million dollars per unit yet the Nigerian govt wants to buy archaic propeller driven plane for 41 million dollars each grin grin..I beg the senate to halt that deal as it is filled with intense corruption
Iraqi F-16s $165 Million Each

Think of it as a military-industrial complex two-fer — first we invade Iraq, eight years later we’re selling it F-16s. “Iraq has now made its first transfer payment for the purchase of 18 F-16 fighter aircraft,” State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland said Tuesday. “These aircraft are going to help provide air sovereignty for Iraq and to protect its territory and deter or counter regional threats.” They represent “the cornerstone of the kind of cooperation that we hope to have in the future to support the secure, peaceful, democratic development of Iraq.”

Iraqi jet jockeys can’t wait. “It was a dream come true to fly in the F-16,” Iraqi air force Brigadier General Ali al-Aaragy said after taking one of the fighters for a test ride at Arizona’s Luke Air Force Base nearly three years ago. The first flock of F-16s is slated to arrive in Iraq in 2014. The U.S. is selling Iraq 18 of the “low end” of the Pentagon’s famed “high-low mix” — F-15s were the more costly “high end.” But these 18 F-16s are no bargain.

The planes are going to cost $3 billion (extra spares and services could drive the total cost to $4.2 billion). That base price, without the options, works out to more than $165 million a plane — more than the current estimated $154 million price tag on the much more modern — so-called fifth generation — F-35. (The Pentagon stopped buying F-16s back in 1995; it paid an average of $17 million per plane).

The wiki $18 million cost you posted was from 1998. Do you know how much they are going for today? No of course. You saw 1998, but you skipped that date just to post false and misleading info.
