krendo: This group should be glad Saraki saw it fit to confirm his plans to run for President on their platform
I did not know of this movement until this moment
At best they should issue a statement thanking Saraki for gracing their occasion and declaring his intention there but reminding the public that as a non partisan movement the views expressed by partisan politicians on their platform is not the view of the movement
But to condemn Saraki for declaring at this occasion is wrong. The man can confirm his plans to run anywhere he likes! Is it by force to associate or affiliate with such character like Saraki?
Are they not Nigerians or you think they don't know him and the kind of worthless human being he is? |

[s] LaudableXX: Which cover? I do not need a cover. All I have done is to try and enlighten you, so that you do not continue with your irrational line of thought. Were you not the same person insisting that : "The waterways agency is a regulating agency, they don't sell boats, they don't keep boats and the boat owners in Lagos state doesn't park their boats in front of the agency HQ so exactly what boats are you villagers talking about?" Or have you forgotten you said so?
I made a point earlier that the location of the LASWA HQ, is right along Falomo jetty. The same LASWA invited bids for provision of ferry terminals and commercial ferry services covering different routes, including that same Falomo, where their HQ is located. Yet, nothing has been done there, despite the fact that the jetty is in existence. Instead of understanding this fact, you are making noise and throwing tantrums, that LASWA has nothing to do with boats. Okay, o. Na you sabi. [/s] There's no need to keep entertaining your meaningless and irrelevant babbles, they commissioned new HQ, not boats.
The Topic says Lagos State Commissions Lagos State Waterways Authority HQ., not commissions BOAT.

[s] LaudableXX: Oh, I thought you said they didn't have boats before? Now, you have conceded they have patrol boats? Ok, we are making progress. Now, the appropriate place where boats are berthed, is called a jetty. Do you agree? Or do you still want to argue that it should be a rooftop?
If Falomo jetty was not essential to LASWA's operations, then their HQ would not have been cited there. Meanwhile, the same LASWA launched a tender for operations of ferry terminals a few years back, and Falomo jetty was clearly listed as one of the places that would feature in the ferry routes, that were expected to be handled by commercial boat operators. Instead of allowing commercial boat operators to provide services from Falomo jetty, they closed it. Now, can you understand why the initial question was asked: "Where are the boats?" [/s] So, patrol boat is your new cover?
You said boats, not patrol boats. Another lie on your part.
You mean while commissioning the new building, they should have piled up patrol boats inside the building or on top of the building? |

LaudableXX: There are no lies anywhere. Nobody said LASWA sold boats. Only God knows where you got that one from. As for saying that Lagos Waterways Authority does not keep boats, you are merely splitting hairs. What do they use for their waterways patrol and inspections? Motorcycles? By the way, you did not debunk anything. You simply exposed the irrational contents of your mind. Now, let me give you room to throw another tantrum. Go on...
No matter how much pain it causes you, Falomo jetty is a commercial jetty where the LASWA HQ is situated. And the question remains, why are commercial boat operations not taking place at that jetty? If you do not know the answer, simply say so, instead of throwing a fit. So, we are now talking about patrol boats?
Ok, I'll go for that deception for the sake of argument.
So, you mean they should have parked the patrol boats inside or on top of the building to take pictures with?

Politics › Not-too-young-to-run Movement Disowns Saraki’s Affiliation. by deomelo(op): 11:48pm On Aug 30, 2018 |
[Abuja – The Not-Too-Young-To-Run Movement on Thursday disowned affiliation with President of the Senate, Dr Bukola Saraki’s declaration for the presidency in 2019 election.
In a statement signed by one of the Converners of the group, Mr Samson Itodo, it said that it was displeased with the use of its platform by Saraki to declare his ambition without prior consultation. “The movement wishes to express its disappointment with Senator Saraki for usurping a platform designed for young aspirants to dialogue with party leadership, to advance his political ambition. “We strongly condemn this act by the President of the Senate and dissociate ourselves from this political move. “As noted earlier, the movement reaffirms its identity as a non-partisan citizen-led movement dedicated to the defense of democracy, political inclusion and transformative leadership. “The movement restates its commitment to sustain its engagement with political parties to ensure youth candidacy and democratic primaries by the parties.” The group said that as part of efforts to promote youth candidacy and democratic primaries, it had commenced series of public town hall meetings with the leadership of political parties and young aspirants. According to it, this is to address the challenges faced by young aspirants in securing party tickets. It said that the movement had scheduled three town hall meetings with the leadership of the All Progressive Congress (APC), People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and other parties. It stated that while one of the town hall meetings was going on in Abuja, Saraki declared his intention to run for the office of the President in the 2019 elections. It restated its commitment to sustain engagement with political parties to ensure youth candidacy and democratic primaries by political parties. It said that the first dialogue held on Friday in Abuja with the leadership of the PDP, adding that the event was attended by Chairman of the party, Mr Uche Secondus, Saraki and National Youth Leader of the party, Mr Udeh Okoye. The group disclosed that young aspirants advocated for reduction in the cost of parties’ nomination forms, and requested PDP to uphold internal democracy in the conduct of its primaries. (NAN)

LaudableXX: Ah... I don talk say I no wan laugh dis nite. But you are forcing me to do so. Guy, all those areas I mentioned, I know them like the back of my hand. You cannot tell me the history of Falomo. This is a route I have been plying twice a day, to and fro, on my way to work and back for years. There are no lies in my comments, please!
Go to Falomo jetty today and check if any commercial passenger boats, load and discharge commuters from there. MetroFerry Marine Services used to operate for a while from Falomo in the past, but they stopped doing so, long before the construction work on Lagos State Waterways Authority Headquarters started. Till now, they have not gone back there. And neither have other commercial boat operators been allowed to use that jetty. Only MTN's corporate boat, docks there once in a while. This is a jetty that was originally constructed for commercial operations, o.
Just because some of us are saying the plain truth, it upsets you so much, that you would rather label us as 'IPOB,' when you know full well that nothing could be further from the truth. Anyway, God dey. This is not about history, it is not a jetty or whatever irrelevant rubbish you keep digging up, this topic is still about the commissioning of the waterways HQ, a common administrative building, not a jetty or boat park where boat owners park their cars so what boats are you looking for?
Btw, this is not Falomo jetty, this is the new HQ for the waterways authority, not a boat park where boat owners in Lagos state park their boats and it's definitely not a jetty. |

[s] LaudableXX: There was nothing ignorant about my comment. When LASG excels, I am the first to praise them. And when they misbehave, I spare no punches in letting them know it. I have done extensive work around that area. The headquarters is in Falomo with a specialised jetty built alongside the HQ. In fact, before construction work started there, that plot of land where the HQ was built, used to be MTN's staff carpark.
The Falomo jetty at one time, was the take-off point and landing port for many small boats. The next stop was the jetty at Queens Drive Ikoyi, which was manned in those days, by Tarzan services. When construction of the HQ started in Falomo, the citizens were promised that boat services would resume once it was finished, and the authority would supervise the waterways and the jetty terminals. But since it has been completed, no boats have been allowed to pick up or drop passengers there. That was what informed my comment. So please stop twisting things, if you do not know the full story. [/s] Stop babbling ignorant and irrelevant nonsense.
The topic is about waterways HQ, not boats. Go to five cowrie creeks in front of the HQ, you will see boats going up and won the waterways and not inside the new HQ.
