Timblogga:Inspect your engine to check for sludge, simple method of doing this open the refill cap of the run your hand through it and see if it is not paste like, and not blackish if you have sludge my recommendation though i stand to be corrected Get an engine flush change to 5w 30 with frequent and short oil change intervals the cleaning agent in oil will help clean out the sludge other causes of sludge if your engine fan is running directly, it will not allow the engine reach optimal temperature |

The recommended engine oil is 5w 30 and there are many brands aside Mobil that are of quality and affordable. however you can use the 20w 50 as a stop gap in case of the emergency you describe while you revert back to the recommended immediately you get back to your base.
