Kikikiki...I love all good detribalized people- igbos inclusive. Abeg change your mentality sha. codemaniacs: |
Ori e pe....thank you and enjoy your Saturday. codemaniacs: |
Well, if you know me, I seldom ignore people even if I feel they aren't making sense. For me, it's respect and I believe there's a lot to be learnt from those considered foolish. I only refrain when the discuss isn't adding value. I can be passionate about issues but I'm mindful of who I am. Now away from me to you. You assume a lot....but I find it humorous sha. At least ki a pon yin le codemaniacs: |
codemaniacs:You don't know me.. I would have continued discussing with you but I found that you are so opinionated and assumes a lot.In your mind anyone who doesn't view things your way must be either an om'ale or IBO. To be honest, I don't like people who are bitter. |
You should be doing comedy...But please work on your temperament...kai...you sure say you no be IBO? Because agidi IBO leleyi o codemaniacs: |
Ore otito na... You don win ....Mabinu .. I just gave you a like. codemaniacs: |
codemaniacs:Kikikiki...Igbo supremacist because i want you to use your brain? OK o |
codemaniacs:I actually stopped reading when I got here. An objective person would have found out more...and asked some questions. Anyways, let's leave it at that |
codemaniacs:Oga , are you sure you wrote this on a public forum where you have intelligent realists? It is not marginalisation when Buhari leaves because that's what government and politics is about, there will always be change of staff and ministers when a new president is elected. This is comparing oranges and apples, friend. The issues are not even the same. Comparing America with Nigeria? Na wa for your analysis sha |
Oga be objective na...so if a Yoruba soldier does same in the North, he automatically becomes a pro-Yoruba nationalist? It's not a matter of non-igbos being fools.it's a matter of perception. Once a person is biased, he is likely to see everything through a jaundiced standpoint. For example, an igbo person who believes Yorubas are fetish would never believe a Yoruba Pastor no matter how clean he comes. The nzeogwu you are even mentioning wasn't in support of Biafra Try to read up about him. codemaniacs: |
You clearly don't understand what happened. It's unfortunate that the coup was daubed "Igbo coup" because of the key officers involved. E be like you don't understand what it means to be marginalized. Azikiwe ruling Nigeria doesn't detract from his people being marginalized thereafter. Even the Fulanis in power today can be marginalized when Buhari leaves. So let's not dwell on that codemaniacs: |
Now you are taking it far..so because according to the article you read, killing some Yoruba soldiers by an Igbo, who wasn't even a Pro-Biafran, the crime must be on the Igbos? Friend, free yourself of bitterness and be objective. Nzeogwu was OBJ's guy and never supported Biafra codemaniacs: |
In a layman's language, it is keeping a person in the margin NOT allowing him in the center. Take a look at your exercise book and see the margin created. That said, do you think the Southwest won't feel marginalized if the same thing meted out to the igbos was done to them? Do you honestly think, Yoruba nation wouldn't have been birthed by now? codemaniacs: |
And why wouldn't a Yoruba man say the bolded? By the way, provide the link to the italicized codemaniacs: |
Wow @ the bolded. We learn everyday. So this is the new meaning of marginalization? codemaniacs: |
Wow @ the bolded. We learn everyday codemaniacs: |
If any tribe has ever experienced war in their homeland. It is the igbos. So they know and ordinarily won't want war. What I think is the matter is the marginalization and hate. If after the war and loses, the Igbo man still opt for secession even if it ends in another war, then know that they know that it's worse to stay with those who hate them. My prayer is that it doesn't get to that because the length and breadth of Nigeria will feel it and it wont end in 30months. Africa sef will feel it. Though, I don't see why we need to go our various ways but I hate slavish existence. If you want them to be part of Nigeria, then treat them as one Anazp: |
Even during the Nigerian civil war, many parents abandoned their own children in a bid to escape. What do you think they'd do if it involved another person? You guys will just be shouting Racism everywhere as if blackmen won't do worse if the roles were switched. Person wey wicked wicked no be by skin color. olorunthobby: |
]I don't need to ask I know for a fact you don't but that is your problem. I am not concerned about that. If asking your father a question is disrespect I am not sorry that is your problem to deal with. If you own a father that teach to mind your business n state you can as well take messages you receive from poking your nose to him in his house grave hell or wherever he might be. I see igbos make all sorts of uncomplimentary remarks about Fulanis Hausa Yorubas etc so if you wake your father with sliding tackle that's your problem. [/s]
|
What you are calling a question wasn't one.Thats why i asked , do you understand what you were quoting. But it's fine Kobojunkie: |
Must you be rude to make your point? Don't you have respect for people's fathers? Very soon when NL intertribal e-war ensues, you'll be amongst those saying ibos don't respect their fathers. Na wa ayokellany: |
That's the difference between us.You saw it as an argument which you must win..hence your approach. When you discuss, you share. Besides, I'm not obligated to answer everything I'm asked especially if it doesn't add value to me or the audience. Wise men discuss but fools argue Kobojunkie: |
What's the connection between the issue at hand and this trite vitriol? buckeyemedia: |
Well I don't argue...I discuss. Your observation is not correct too but you are excused. Thank you Kobojunkie: |
Why do mean by "so-called Bible"? If people flay the Koran now you'd be the first to be protesting. Why not continue with your hatred for Israel and give your opinion as you know it instead of being disrespectful to others? The topic is about Russia refusing to acknowledge Israel's sovereignty over Jerusalem and the Golan heights. Haba... buckeyemedia: |
If you have been reading my replies, you won't be asking the same questions. All I am saying is,you don't understand what you're quoting. The same thing is in those scriptures I cited. To help you understand Luke 20:34-36, I helped you paste it from verse 17 1.to help you see that it's the same account in Matthew 22 and Mark 12 2.To help you understand what Jesus was responding to I also used the simplest version I can find (which is NLT) because I wanted to be as basic as possible. KJV is not for everybody Summary, Read with understanding Kobojunkie: |
@kobojunkie I decided to post that for you to understand the bible you are quoting. That Mark 12:18-25 is the same scenario with the Luke 20 you are quoting as well as Matthew 22. Below is the Luke 20 you've been quoting... You may focus on verses 34 to 36 but I'll start from verse 17 Luke 20:17-36 (NLT) 27Then Jesus was approached by some Sadducees—religious leaders who say there is no resurrection from the dead. 28They posed this question: “Teacher, Moses gave us a law that if a man dies, leaving a wife but no children, his brother should marry the widow and have a child who will carry on the brother’s name.c 29Well, suppose there were seven brothers. The oldest one married and then died without children. 30So the second brother married the widow, but he also died. 31Then the third brother married her. This continued with all seven of them, who died without children. 32Finally, the woman also died. 33So tell us, whose wife will she be in the resurrection? For all seven were married to her!” 34Jesus replied, “Marriage is for people here on earth. 35But in the age to come, those worthy of being raised from the dead will neither marry nor be given in marriage. 36And they will never die again. In this respect they will be like angels. They are children of God and children of the resurrection. I just hope you'll understand that "marriage is for people on earth" |
Kobojunkie:You need understanding my brother. It's not by quoting scriptures. However, this is a very simple matter. Now ,Let me start answering you with scriptures. Mark 12:18-25(NLT) 18Then Jesus was approached by some Sadducees—religious leaders who say there is no resurrection from the dead. They posed this question: 19“Teacher, Moses gave us a law that if a man dies, leaving a wife without children, his brother should marry the widow and have a child who will carry on the brother’s name.d 20Well, suppose there were seven brothers. The oldest one married and then died without children. 21So the second brother married the widow, but he also died without children. Then the third brother married her. 22This continued with all seven of them, and still there were no children. Last of all, the woman also died. 23So tell us, whose wife will she be in the resurrection? For all seven were married to her.” 24Jesus replied, "Your mistake is that you don’t know the Scriptures, and you don’t know the power of God. 25For when the dead rise, they will neither marry nor be given in marriage. In this respect they will be like the angels in heaven. |
Do you really understand the Luke 20:34-36 that you've been quoting? I hinted you to read the preceding verses to understand but it's obvious you didn't read it. Go and read the same thing recorded in Matthew 22 and Mark 12 Kobojunkie: |
You make me laugh with your explanations. I bolded " not of this world". No scripture stands in isolation. Jesus was telling them that over there (in heaven, His kingdom) people don't marry. He used angels as example because they aren't humans. Jesus deliberately answered the scribes/Pharisees that way because He knew them and their intention. So Jesus was NEVER against marriage here on earth for believers. It is marriage, here on earth, that'd/supposed to perpetuate mankind. I don't know what you mean by infidelity amongst singles. Lust is a different issue...it has to do with impure (sexual)desire in this case. A single person must flee from formication. If he/she burns with desire, he/she should marry. I deliberately didn't want to cite scriptures cos I believe these are basic things for those who understand scriptures Kobojunkie: |
It depends on what you mean by "meaningful" Dr.Sunday Adelaja (in Ukraine now) , I think was on scholarship there(when it was USSR) and he was a thought leader. That said, You can be anything anywhere if you're destined to be there. If there's an African who can solve the Chinese man's problem, they'd assimilate him racism or no racism. Time there was when black men were not given the recognition they now have in the U S but today the story is different Even Nigerians who claim to be accommodating, how many white men have been elected governor in any of our states?Remember recently here on NL, there was a thread about a foreigner married to an Anambra man who was passionate about her husband's culture and there was a poser if it would be a bad idea to make her a commissioner. Go and read the responses WibusJaga: |
You seem not to understand what Jesus was saying to the scribes who were trying to trap him with their silly questions If you read your Bible well and understand what you read, you'll understand that Jesus often spoke to those "without" in parables. Read the preceding verses to get the meat of the matter. Cherry picking scriptures and misapplication is common with those who don't know that the Bible isn't newspaper. But let's assume we don't know much, are you saying Jesus was against marriage? Or what are you trying to say as you even admitted that Jesus was against infidelity in marriage. Kobojunkie: |
