The Kano State government has said those who invaded the State High Court during the nationwide protest carted away some of the documents used in the corruption trial of former Governor Abdullahi Ganduje.
Daily Trust reports that Kano government had dragged Ganduje, his wife, Hafsat, Umar, his Son, Umar Abdullahi, and five others to the court over 8 charges bothering on misappropriation, and diversion of funds during his eight-year tenure as governor.
The court is among the properties vandalised and looted by hoodlums during the #EndBadGovernance protest.
On Wednesday, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf visited the court to assess the damages.
The governor was conducted round the court premises by the Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice, Barrister Haruna Isah Dederi, Chief Registrar of the High Court, Alhaji Abdullahi Ado Bayero, and some judges.
According to the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, Yusuf described the vandalization as a staged-managed mission in which hired miscreants carted away corruption charges documents of Ganduje who is facing multiple charges before the court.
“It is very unfortunate that enemies of Kano State hired undesirable elements to vandalized one of the historic public buildings with a mission of averting corruption charges against the Ag. National Chairman of APC and former governor of the state Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, his family and aides,” Tofa said in a statement.
The statement added that the miscreants destroyed virtually all units of the High Court including the office of the state Chief Judge with loss accruing to more than N1 billion through stealing of office equipment, destroying offices, burning cars and other relevant materials crucial to the dispensation of justice.
Yusuf called on youth in the state to desist from being used by detractors to engage in violence.
He advised them to rather concentrate on skill acquisitions for better future, emphasizing that government would not relent in securing the lives and property of people of Kano.
He commiserated with the Chief Judge, Dije Abdu Aboki and the entire Judiciary family for the ugly incident, urging them to brace up to cover what was lost in the courts proceedings for the benefit of the common man.
He also commended people of the state for their support and cooperation to present administration, and prayed for sustenance of the tempo for peace, stability, and prosperity, and economic development.
Well, a snake will always give birth to something that is long.
Meanwhile, I'm not sure why this thread was closed as fake news. I'm certain I'm not the only one who saw that video the Professor rendered in Hausa language? I just didn't post it because it would require astute translation which I can't giver flawlessly.
Take it down provided they started such structures without any form of government permit.
And if anyone shows they have some form of permit, they're entitled to some form of compensation provided the perpetrator represents the government in that capacity.
Lastly, ensure the perp gets jail time to discourage other fraudulent people in authority who grant permits for quick and easy money.
For a coastal state, proper drainage is non-negotiable. The aftermath of the flooding of 2012 after Cameroun opened their dam remains fresh.
wediehere1: Reno Omokri is the only one that can single-handedly handle their madness
Not only him. There's this Prince Adeshina guy on X too who introduced himself as an Obidient slayer when introducing himself to an APC politician like that. Unfortunately, someone captured the video of his project defence and put it on air. 😁😁
Nah people wey no know how Twitter Blue/Subscription works. Once I see you're catfish, I ignore your destiny. The likes of Reno are blocked on my account. All I see are pictures of what they said.
Which is why I'm advocating for a Block feature on Nairaland. Some mini Renos running wild here.
What a monumental disgrace. Our Nigerian born athletes are racking up medals with other countries, but all we had to show for the Olympics was steeze on arrival.
Even Ukraine that have been fighting war for two years pack medals. 🥲
This thread will not be complete without our celebrity bots comments on frontpage, so let me do the honours... 😁😁

Like I noted before. All of the kids were dutifully behind their father until she forced and dragged them to go with her. That the kids were standing with the father 'comfortably' and by default gives the first hint what's what in the home.
And even when she left, she left without her last child in the carrier, but with those old enough to handle themselves to an extent. What mother does that? Leave her youngest child who is possible not 100% weaned off her with the father because she was angry??
I'm sorry, but as far as instinctive maternal attributes go, that's a fail.
viyon02: When he had the time to change all that was necessary, but no he decided to lick the asses of northern elders. Now, he want to be relevant by putting unnecessary pressure on the Senate, if it was easy he could have done it when he had the chance.
Speaking to Senators on a courtesy visit, the former president of Nigeria, Olusegun Obasanjo, told them point blank, that the practice of them fixing their earnings is moral.
"Look at in your own case, with all due respect, you are not supposed to fix your salary or your allowances. It is supposed to be done by the RMAFC. But you decide what you pay yourselves"
The former president went on to list a number of allowances, including fictitious ones with an aim to show how irrelevant they are in the grand scheme of things.
"And you know it is not right. It is not right! It is not right for me to decide what I pay myself. It is immoral. And then, you are doing it!"
"In some cases, even the executive gives you what you are not entitled to. You all got 200 million naira"
Puss360: Rest abeg.... U all always support men behaving anyhow...
Tell tale signs everywhere. You only need to be observant.
Did you also notice all the kids were beside their father until she askedpushed the elder two to come with her? 😁😁
Even their body language showed they were terrified and confused as they watched their mother. You may also put in that the mother left him with her youngest baby in the carrier.
Puss360: Why will you call it rubbish?? If the man is a good husband, she wouldn't have done that... So the man deserves everything!!!
I'm certain she did that because she is a good woman too. And the husband showed how bad he was by exercising restraint in the face of adverse temptation.
Do you prefer your new bed by the window or aisle, ma'am?
In a shocking twist of events, a woman tore her husband's international passport to shreds on their arrival to Lagos, took two of their kids away and left him standing there with one.
In what appeared to be an altercation that started before they landed, she was seen retorting angrily to the officials who chastised her for what she did, before moving away.
The officials, and fellow passengers consoled the visibly upset but confused man, and helped him pick up the pieces of passport papers strewn all over the floor of the building.
NewDelhi: Your type are never ready to buy market. All they do is to be asking silly questions. If you re interested in his product, you will call him for more enquiries and ask. I get them plenty for car section. Asking funny questions on thread whereas dem no get 1 naira to buy moto.
You're talking nonsense. I was looking all over for the exact same information dawnomike asked for. It's a good deal but it's the basic thing to include the processor generation and whether it is SSD or not.
