It was a good job with good pay, but now with everything going on, no one was playing golf. "So, did you think what you will be doing?" Diana asked.

"I don't know, probably watch TV and play video games." Johnny said in a teenager's carefree tone. His mother nodded and moved her gaze to her daughter.

"Not really, maybe get a jump on my schoolwork. I haven’t really thought about it yet." Jane answered, looking at her mother, then turned back to the TV.

--

"Johnny, Jane, come say hello to your uncle." Diana called upstairs. They heard shuffling, then doors being opened and footsteps hurrying down.

"Hey uncle Eddy." Johnny said.

"Johnny my man!" Eddy said, giving his nephew a high five before pulling him in for a hug.

"Hi uncle Eddy." Jane said cheerfully, throwing her arms around him. Uncle Eddy was in his mid-thirties, quite a bit younger than Diana. He was lean and tall, standing at around six feet. He had a cool slightly spiky hairdo and a trimmed beard. He looked stylish, always did, and was wearing a pair of long tight light jeans, a light blue shirt with the sleeves rolled up, black sneakers and an expensive looking watch. His designer sunglasses where hanging from his breast pocket as he gave his sister, nephew, and niece his signature smile.

"So, who's up for some quarantine." Eddy said with the same smile, and everyone laughed at his stupid joke. "Johnny, can you give me a hand in the car?" Eddy asked. "I brought all the food I had at my place with me." He said.

"Yeah, sure." Johnny said, and followed his uncle outside. He followed his uncle to his truck and his eyes nearly popped out. "Did you rob a grocery store on your way here?" Johnny asked amused.

"I might have bought some extra." Eddy said as he looked over at the four huge boxes filled with canned goods and other non-perishables, "but better to be safe." He added and lifted one of the boxes, handing it to Johnny.

"Did you rob a grocery store?" Diana asked her brother as he and Johnny finished bringing everything in.

"Ha, your son said the exact same thing." Eddy said with a chuckle. "You're going to thanks me for all this in a few days." He added.

Home of Scandals

The worldwide Corona virus had reached them, and an indefinite lockdown was put in place. Schools, work, restaurants and transportation were all put on hold. Everyone was required to stay at home, and a full-on quarantine was set to start the next day.

"What did dad say? Did he find another flight?" Jane asked when her mother finished the call.

"Unfortunately, no." Diana said frustrated.

"They just announced that all domestic flights have been cancelled. He managed to rent a car and is driving over to your grandparents' house." Diana explained. Her husband was returning from a business trip abroad because of the situation, but they cancelled all the flights when he was on his way back.

"That sucks!" Jane said. She was really looking forward to her father being back.

"Yeah, I know sweetie." Her mother sad tenderly just as her phone rang. She looked down at the screen and picked up. "Hey Eddy." She said cheerfully as she rose to her feet, stretching her lithe five-and-a-half-foot frame. She continued towards her bedroom, leaving her children to the very popular pastime of being on the phone.

"Turn on the TV, let's see what they say on the news." Jane told her brother, putting down her phone. He raised his head to look at her, nodded, then picked up the remote and handed it to her.

Johnny went back to his phone, half listening to the gloomy picture they painted in the news, while his sister watched intently.

"That was your uncle," Diana said as she came back over and sat down on the sofa next to her son, "he is going to come stay with us until things return to normal." She said, crossing her legs and turning to the TV.

"That's cool." Johnny said happily and his sister nodded in agreement. They both liked their uncle Eddy, their mother's younger brother. He lived close by, so they saw him quite often, and being a hair stylist, he always had good stories.

"It’s crazy what's going on." Jane said looking at the TV. "It's all over the world!" she added and folded her thin legs up, hugging them against her chest.

"Mom, did they shut down the golf club too?" Johnny asked as he looked the TV.

"Yes, every non-essential workplace is supposed to be closed starting tomorrow." She said with a worried look. "I might work a bit from home, but I probably won’t have much to do." She explained.

Diana managed the finances for the local golf club. It was a good job with good pay, but now with everything going on, no one was playing golf.

"So, did you think what you will be doing?" Diana asked.

Desire4life:

"Hmm." I wasn't totally paying attention. We were sitting side-by-side at the bar of my favorite sushi place, OUTSIDE of my apartment, and I was going to enjoy this meal.

"She's calm, efficient, and of course very pretty. I'll bet she's a wildcat underneath that perfectly pressed business suit."

"Hmm." I started trying to get the chef's attention and order some more sashimi. And they had this weird beef-wrapped asparagus thing I wanted to try.

"Those legs are just soooo long. Like, she would be a perfect model, except of course her tits are way too big. I mean, I'm already at the big end for modeling. But maybe she could do Victoria's Secret or something. It's just so weird how she ended up a personal assistant instead."

I arched an eyebrow at her comments and offered my usual "Hmm" to let Tolu think I was listening, but satisfying my hunger was still the priority. I wolfed down two more pieces.

Tolu looked away across the bar, staring at nothing. "I guess I'd just love to get into her panties."

Okay, now I started choking. I was already quite buzzed from a couple bottles of sake and now the instant vision of Tolu and Nadia twisting the sheets together caught me off guard.

Tolu just grinned and lightly patted my back as I fought back the tears in my eyes and caught my breath. "I haven't been with a woman in like, two years! And she is quite hot."

"Can we talk about something other than you seducing my assistant?"

"Fine, fine. Did you decide on one?"

I paused to pound back the rest of my sake and clear my throat out. "Not yet. But I'm leaning towards the penthouse on 5th Avenue with the wide views of Central Park."

"Really? I would have thought you'd have gone for the corner place on Park Ave. It's certainly more luxurious and a lot bigger."

"Maybe, but (A) I don't need the room and (B) I figure I can always pay for more luxury. I can't buy a Central Park view like that over on Park Ave."

"So that's the one, huh?"

"I suppose so... Just think, in about a month you'll be visiting me in my luxurious penthouse!"

"Visiting?!" She slapped me on the arm. "Oh, no. You get a place that fancy and I'm moving in with you!"

I hesitated for a moment, not sure whether she was serious or not. "Oh, no you're not. I want the place all to myself!" I laughed, trying to make a joke out of it.

Desire4life:

"Appointment?" Tolu looked at me.

"We're going apartment hunting. Time to find me some expensive, flashy new digs."

"Ooh! Sounds like fun! Can I come?" Tolu's puppy dog face was back.

Well, the face works. Especially on me. "Um, I suppose."

The agent helpfully added, "I'm sure the advice of your lady friend will help you make your decision."

Tolu smiled brightly, already putting her shoes back on. "Let's go!"

And so we were off. For some reason, I had a feeling in the back of my head that having Tolu around for this house hunting trip was a ticking time bomb. And yet, the day went very, very well.

The apartments themselves were all fabulous, absolutely fabulous. Each of them had fantastic views and luxurious appointments. I really couldn't go wrong with any of them.

Tolu completely geeked out on all the expensive fixtures and rich textures. Before we were done with the first apartment, I realized a potential mistake in bringing her along. She would have her own opinions as to which place I should pick, and she might also be picturing herself as the "lady of the manor" as we toured each new home.

I had to admit, the thought didn't totally bother me. Tolu was gorgeous, smart, and had a great sense of humor. She could be a little self-centered, but what fashion model wasn't? She had her own social standing, her own experience interacting with New York's elite. And she was very, very good at cheering me up.

I found myself watching the raven-haired beauty as she gushed over some lavish drapery at the window. I had a magnificent view of Central Park through the huge windows behind her, and the whole picture was simply beautiful. Even Tolu's ears looked so cute with dangling earrings peeking out behind her short, sbutty haircut.

Then Nadia cleared her through behind me, shaking me out of my reverie and calling Tolu's attention over. My friend just batted her eyes at me, brilliant dark staring right at me.

Then Nadia directed, "We need to keep moving."

"I like her."

"Who?" I reached out and snagged another spider roll.

"Miss Rufai. Nadia." Tolu had already put her chopsticks down, finished with her dinner. She ate like a bird. A very small bird.
