The man is just a prudent version of GEJ. He saves money and announces it. Nothing more.

missuzoma:

According to findings, Eastern Palm University was registered at the NUC as the 42nd state-owned university and the 143rd university in Nigeria. However, it was listed by JAMB as a private university.

Governor Okorocha had also been quoted as saying that Eastern Palm is a university built on public-private partnership model. He had allegedly said the university is owned by the Rochas Foundation and Imo state government indicating that while his private foundation owns 90 percent of the university the Imo state government owned 10 percent.

The PPP(public private partnership) model is the new way politicians now plant themselves into govt's purse on a long term basis.
We all agree that private sector men are mostly profit oriented(except few with divine or charity mandate), if a university with no special vision then has a PPP model, it must be profit oriented and I see no way such a uni will eventually be strong enough to compete with other private unis that are enjoying subsidies in billions every year.
People think university is secondary school and easy to run.

How many oil blocks does Rivers state have?
Exactly. Is it that they can own it but refused to own it or Niger state is just playing games?

I don't get this arrangement. The southern oil is owned by individuals & FG, but the north have state owning 'theirs'.

I have a friend who had difficulties in his academics here in Nigeria his father withdrew him in 300level, registered for the same course in U.K... Over there he's a topper, which is as a result of the foundation he had in Nigeria.

To attribute the improved performance of your friend to his "foundation in Nigeria" is very wrong.

What about those who went to UK universities directly without any Nigerian university foundation?
Why is the success rate among them so high?

First tell me how education can be expired? The only problem is that more research has not been done to upgrade the knowledge on ground due to inadequate funding and poor infrastructure.

As for me, I didn't receive expired education, there's a big difference between something that has expired and something that isn't updated. Though the guy made some points, but in my opinion, he used the wrong word of description.

Just imagine what will be going on in the minds of those present at the event.

Knowledge not updated is expired knowlege. In education, newer and superior knowledge generally overrides the relevance of older knowledge. Educational knowlege isn't a thing that rots away to be considered expired, it gets overriden by newer and superior knowledge to be considered expired. The prof is right.

Our eyes never open . . .
The day our eyes opens down south is the day we start taking identity serious and start using it to eliminate multiple registration.
With finger print and retina technology it possible to eliminate multiple user registration. With a proper birth registration process it will even help eliminate underage voting. When we get these right it then we get have open our eyes.
