Nigeria should have abstained. South Africa did the right thing. We shouldn't pick sides in this conflict if we really want to assert ourselves as "giant of Africa". Our foreign policy during the cold War, was that of neutrality, and It served us well, why the change in policy ![]() |
NATO/US pressured Turkey to restrict access to Russian ships. Instead, Erdogan restricted access to ALL ships, meaning even NATO and EU ships can not enter the black sea to help ukraine with supply. Russian war ships already in black sea would remain, meaning Russia would continue to be in control of Ukrainian black sea borders; they just won't be able to leave yet, as per the new restriction. Its a diplomatic WIN WIN for Turkey. Erdogan too sharp ![]() |
Cameroon ke? nah which kind see finish be dis sef? If dem no kareful, we go just send our Civilian JTF volunteer force to occupy Younde. |

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in a video speech complained that Western countries have abandoned Ukraine and left it to defend itself alone. Some Western netizens even asked: Where has the US been which provoked the war and said it "stands with Ukraine?" However, has the US really disappeared? On the contrary, it is quite busy gaining more "strategic interests" from the flames of war in Ukraine. The latest remarks by the US on the Ukraine situation released by the White House have underlined two points: First, turning Russia into "a pariah on the international stage" through sanctions and other measures; second, NATO has been "more united and more determined than ever" and this is "good news." As for Ukraine, which Washington uses as a pawn, in addition to reiterating that the US wouldn't send troops there, Washington only simply said it "will support the Ukrainian people as they defend their country," and "will provide humanitarian relief to ease their suffering." Washington has once again displayed its selfishness and hypocrisy to the world. People have seen that after the US pushed Ukraine into the fire, it stood aside, pretending to care about the country and saying "I support you, keep fighting!" It is fair to say the evolution of the situation in Ukraine until today is a geopolitical tragedy. From the very beginning, it's a bitter result of the US' strategic selfishness and shortsightedness. As early as 1998 when the US Senate approved NATO's eastward expansion plan, the late senior US diplomat George Kennan had foreseen today's tragedy. He said then, "This expansion would make the Founding Fathers of this country turn over in their graves." However, the arrogant American elites always think they can profit from crises. For years, the US has incited conflicts, manipulated the situations from offshore and reaped benefits. It is accustomed to be the one who adds the fuel to the fire without paying any cost. What it wants is to realize its instant interests. The US shows no consideration for the suffering of the locals pushed into the forefront. When there is a real crisis, the so-called commitments it initially made will only become empty diplomatic rhetoric. Those politicians don't care about the suffering of local people at all, but attempt to attract attention under the guise of "humanitarianism." This reminds people of when it abandoned the former Afghan regime last year, the US also said on multiple occasions it would provide "humanitarian" assistance to Afghanistan. But shockingly, the reality is that the so-called US "humanitarian" assistance hasn't been provided to the Afghan people, but the US carved up the $7 billion in frozen funds that Afghanistan's central bank had deposited in New York. As the culprit of the Afghan issue, after satisfying its own strategic interests, the US only left the locals "an avalanche of hunger and poverty," leading to the severe malnutrition of millions of children in Afghanistan. The US often talks about humanity, justice and morality, but what it really does is calculating interests. Washington's strategic selfishness and hypocrisy have been laid bare again and again in international political practices. Reports indicate that at least 37 million people have been displaced in and from Afghanistan, Iraq, Pakistan, Yemen, Somalia, the Philippines, Libya and Syria as a direct result of the wars fought by the US since September 11, 2001. There is even a saying that wherever the US "intervenes," conflicts, chaos and terrorism will appear. A country is called a major power not because of how strong its ability to form cliques or to realize its own self-interests is. What matters is its responsibility and ability to safeguard international peace. If a country only cares about its own interests, fuels the flames everywhere and constantly exports chaos to others, no matter how powerful it is, it is inevitable its credibility will go bankrupt and its hegemony will come to an end. For countries and regions that still have fantasies or act as pawns of the US, the Ukraine crisis is a good reminder: A "partner" who announces "good news" when you are in difficulties is untrustworthy. https://www.globaltimes.cn/page/202202/1253228.shtml |

tonididdy:U don enter one chance be dat. because, Aljazeera is also a western MSM mouthpiece, not different from France24. Aljazeera has lost its credibility long ago. Watch CGTN, if you want a more balanced view of the ongoing conflict. |
FERNANDEZISBACK:Yep, USA and its NATO allies are closely monitoring....Truth be told, NATO/ US is not prepared for war with Russia. It is why they are using Ukraine to "test the waters" , so they could monitor very closely, and take lessons. Poor Ukraine |
TERRIFYING "thermobaric" rockets that can explode enemy troops' lungs have been spotted heading to Ukraine, it was reported. The TOS-1 Buratino rockets are some of the most deadly non-nuclear weapons that can be deployed on the modern battlefield. TOS in Russian stands for "heavy flame thrower". The TOS-1 launches a rocket carrying a fuel-air explosive (FAE), dubbed the "wall of napalm". One of the fearsome launchers has been seen being transported on the back of a lorry near Belgorod in Russia, heading towards Ukraine, CNN reported. It comes as Western officials have expressed concern Russia could deploy the devastating weapon amid signs that its advance had been slower than planned in the face of stiff Ukrainian resistance. On official said: "My fear would be that if they don't meet their timescale and objectives, they would be indiscriminate in their use of violence." Defence and national security commentator Charlie Gao said: "The Buratino and Solntsepek are very useful weapons for a military that might be going into urban combat with little regard for collateral damage." The deployment of the TOS-1 comes as Ukrainian forces have repulsed and initial Russian attempt to seize the capital Kyiv have so-far not been successful. Sources in Ukraine have previously shared videos of convoys of TOSs heading for the border. Sharing screengrabs from a TikTok video of the military convoy, PhD student at the Department of War Studies at King's College London Rob Lee wrote: "Thermobaric troops on the move." Originally created as a long-range alternative to the handheld flamethrower, the TOS-1 and TOS-1A are designed to kill or crush any soft target in their path. And the Buratino - a Russian equivalent of Pinnochio - is unique to Russia's military. The TOS-1's prominent launch unit - like a long nose - earned it the nickname Pinocchio. The self-propelled multiple rocket launcher system (MRLS) has already deployed by Moscow's generals in conflicts including Afghanistan, Chechnya, Iraq, and Syria. Similar to the enormous 240mm 2S4 self-propelled mortar, the TOS-1 is designed to obliterate heavily-fortified positions. Some of its destructive power was demonstrated in the Second Chechnyan War between 1999 and 2000 when the breakaway Russian province's capital Grozny was razed to the ground. In one incident, a TOS-1 strike killed 37 civilians and wounded over 200 when a city block was razed to the ground. A small explosive inside the FAE munition will spread a chemical cloud through the air like a lethal deodorant spray. This gassy cloud can seep everywhere, into buildings and trenches, before a secondary explosive then ignites the cloud, causing a massive, long-lasting explosion. The fiery blast can kill and maim in truly horrific ways, rendering body armour or hard cover useless. Sebastian Roblin, a military expert, writing for 19fortyfive.com, said: "A TOS-1 rocket barrage will wipe out everything within the 200-by-300m blast zone." Further from the blast zone, pressure can break bones, dislocate eyes, cause internal haemorrhaging, and rupture eardrums, bowels, and other internal organs. They can also suck the oxygen out of lungs, causing them to collapse, suffocating their victims to death. https://www.the-sun.com/news/4778173/putin-thermobaric-rocket-launchers-heading-ukraine/

DaniDani:Igbos Kill Northerners in SE, wetin concern "all Christians Southern" for this matter? Na dis kind propaganda tactics Igbo take use rope SS into their Biafra war. FYI, "core Muslim north" and "christain Southern" too don wise up. Thanks to IPOB, "core muslim north" has learned (with good precision) to differentiate Igbos from other Southerners. Igbos are gonna have to carry their own cross. "Christian Southern" refused to be part of your Shenanigan. |
See Igbo women leading by gudu esampu.....but why Arewa women no show-up like this for Abba Kyari nah? Walai dem no try at all at all. ![]() |
God1000:you are spoiling for a "beer parlour" fight I see ![]() Anyways, having a powerful military is one thing; being able to project that power well far beyond country or regional border is another. Nigeria, Algeria, Egypt, and South Africa are regional "local champions" nothing more. There's no country in Africa that has the capacity to project its military might to win a war far beyond their regional borders, in a conventional war. Any country that goes on the offensive would loose big, its the reason why Egypt despite being #12, can not afford a conventional war with #65 ranked Ethiopia, much less Nigeria, Africa's biggest economy, and most populous country. Enough day dreaming pls! |
Igbos are not as accommodating as other tribes. Else, how could one justify the fact that the population of Igbos living in Kano State alone is greater than that of all non-igbos living in the SE? |
BoBiafra:"You cannot benefit from a crime" , yet Kanu lawyers want him to benefit from the crime of jumping bail, abi? Reality is, there's no way out of this for Kanu. He is stuck in a quicksand. Kanu lawyer must first prove that his client Kanu is a Criminal who 'Usain bolted' out of Nigeria while on bail. He'll have to explain how he escaped, who committed the "Extraordinary rendition" of helping him escape out of Naija, and list all his accomplices etc etc. further compounding Kanu's problem; which means more money for his lawyers. As far as Nigerian Govt is concerned, Kanu never left the country. ![]() |
Lurker4Long:Yes, but perhaps it is because he shares too much info about the NM. That said, there's no falsehood in the message. The Nigerian Military did ordered M-346FA fighter jets, according to wikipedia. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alenia_Aermacchi_M-346_Master |
Mooh247:And you believe the actual unit cost is US$20,000 because Wikipedia said so?? My guy, thats not how things work in the west oo. Brand new stuff ain't often sold as per displayed or "advertised" price. Often what they show is the "Skeletal" price. By the time dem open book, show you hidden fees, tax, plus other extra costs to make it a " full package", your eye go open. If you don ever buy brand new moto or house for obodo oyinbo b4, you go know wetin I dey talk about. In Naija, where display price is often higher than actual price, In abroad its the order way round. If u carry naija mindset go do shopping for abroad, you'll be disappointed ooo. |

Vickyvice:Korea was occupied by Japan, a Nazi Germany Ally. But keep Shifting the goal post. Anyways, leave Korea, so Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary, Austria, Poland, were they not occupied by Nazi, or were they "tiny provinces" of Russia too? I apologize for dignifying such foolery with my response. Carry ur wahala go. |
Vickyvice:Oh, now they are "tiny provinces" of Russia, eh? Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary, Austria, Poland, Manchuria, North Korea, were they "tiny provinces" of Russia too? ![]() Even when you are clearly proven wrong, you are still playing ignoramus ![]() |
Vickyvice:You keep displaying your ignorance for all to see FYI, some of the countries liberated by USSR are:1.Ukraine 2. Poland 3. Romania (allied with Germany) 4. Bulgaria (allied with Germany) 5. Estonia 6. Lithuania 7. China (Manchuria) 8. North Korea 9.Czechslovakia 10. Austria (allied with Germany) 11. Hungary 12. East Germany 13. Finland (allied with German) 14. Latvia 15. Moldova I have no time to school you, your knowledge of WW2 is needs significant overhaul, I must say. Not surprising though, cos almost all ww2 documentaries are from western allied perspective. However, here's is one that narrates the Russian perspective. Watch it, and you may learn something. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6CerdjvePsg

Vickyvice:This is what happens when one watches too much hollywood movies that are often devoid of historical reality. Russia already decimated the core of the German army, kicked the Nazis out of Russia, and were already on the offensive before US and allied troops step foot in Normandy. What is often overlooked was how US and Britain dragged their feets, while the Red Army did bulk of the fighting and dying. If anything2, Russia won that war for US and rest of Europe, and not the other way round. Had Hitler not invaded Russia, not even US could have been able to save Great Britain from eminent defeat, and that is a fact. US and British role in the defeat of Nazi Germany are often exaggerated, while that of communist russia are often overlooked. No nation sacrificed so much for the defeat of Nazi Germany than Russia. What is also overlooked, is russia's role in the liberation of china and Korea from Japan after it defeated Germany, which also played a huge factor in the surrender of Japan. |
ruggedtimi:Was it not the Red Army that handed the Nazi their first defeat in Operation Barborossa? Was it not also the Red army that destroyed the strongest German Army and division; Army Group B and the 6th Panzer, in Stalingrad ? Fact is, no nation contributed more to the defeat of Nazi Germany than Russia. US and British contributions are meagre and overrated by hollywood and western propaganda. The number of Russians that died during the siege of Leningrad alone, are more than the number of US and British deaths combined throughout the war. It was russia that single handedly wiped out the core of the German Army (Army Group A, B and C) in Battle of Kurtz, Stalingrad, and liberation of Leningrad, while British and US where dragging there feets about opening a second front, to "easen" the burden on Russia. Even Stalin was pissed-off and couldnt hide his frustration on why the allies for conveniently dragging its feets, at the detriment of russian lives. By the time the so-called allied invasion of Normandy occured, the Russians have successfully wiped out the core of the German Army. Sending a Nazi soldier to the russian front was every Nazi soldiers worst nightmare. Fact is, it was Russia that did the bulk of the fighting with the Nazis, British and US just rode the wave thereafter. Infact, Neither British nor US posed a significant threat to Hitler. Hitler's biggest obstacle was Russia. He knew all he had to do was defeat russia; US and Britain would come to the negotiating table as France did. For he knows, unlike Russia, huge lost of lives would create great political turmoil in those two countries. And he's right. Had US or Britain lost a quarter of lives Russia lost, both countries would have waved the white flag or disintegrated. The fact that Communist russia saved "Democracy" from Nazi Germany is still a bitter pill to swallow. Hence, through propaganda and hollywood, US, British, and the "free world" contributions were grossly exaggerated, at the expense of Communist Russia. |
WoundedLamb:Thats right! I typed "is" instead of "isn't", my bad ![]() |
chux4liv:You made it sound as if his latter offense isn't worse than the former. Long story short, he abused his political office. He should've known better, that his action is a serious offense, not only in Canada, but in most developed countries. Irony is, this same guy, a staunch IPOB supporter, has been busy criticizing politicians in Nigeria for corruption and abuse of power etc, alas he proved to be no different. As the 1st black person to serve as minister for Municipal affairs in the redneck province of Alberta, he's now disgraced black people in Canada. |
It's Buharis fault. ![]() |
