Hello Guys, please I just got admission to Niagara college for PGC in Environmental Management and Assessment. I am suppose to make a tuition deposit of about 10k CAD before 2 weeks before getting my LOA. I am trying to know if the 8months certificate course is d best option for me and how to proceed after I make this payment next week. Are there people here who can possibly help with this process? I know I can try it myself but I dont want to go thru all the mistakes and had I know syndromes. However, I am still following the thread |
Why are you people so elated about the Unilag admission though? I dont think I've seen anybody with good testimony about Unilag PG. Everybody always complain of delayed project approval elongating the time frame of a masters of 2years to 3-4 years. Nobody got such time to waste. I was given admission but honestly I dont think I want to start what I can't finish in 1 year. I dont have more than 1 year for PG runnings. I am scared same thing Unilag is known for might repeat itself, coupled with ASUU strike..The uncertainties are just too numerous |

JPMorgan in their 2012 Online Fraud Report estimated that $3.5B was lost to online frauds. Another research from Juniper Research estimated online frauds to rise to $25.6 billion by 2020 meaning at this time, $4 in every $1,000 of online payments will be fraudulent. (Yeah, scream with me) Year 2016 was niggling for many corporate organizations with many of them falling victims of cyber-attacks and making headlines over report of major breaches. Cyber attackers are not stopping the fun in the year 2017 as a lot of data breaches and digital break-ins have been reported this year already. Amongst this attacks is the famous WannaCry attack (A digital extortion) that crippled hundreds of thousand computers worldwide and also caused predictable stock market euphoria. There is no doubt that cyber-attack as a business will continue to grow as attackers continue to try to take advantage of numerous porosity in the cyberspace and Nigeria as a country is not left behind, in fact the level of porosity on this side might be higher because of so many reasons which includes an obvious lackluster attitudes displayed by most citizens to cyber security etc. It is reported by Cyber Security Experts Association of Nigeria (CSEAN) that Nigeria is currently vulnerable to cyber-attacks, well so do almost all other countries (so that’s old news) but what are the measurements put in place to counter cyber-attack efforts by the Federal Government of Nigeria? Few months ago, The Senate reports a $450 million loss to 3500 cyber-attacks on its ICT space and we have not even started, it is most definitely going to get worst as technology advances. Every advancement in technology opens fresh space for vulnerabilities. Despite all this revelations and occurrences, more than 80% of organizations and agencies in Nigeria don’t even believe there is any need for security implementation and extra commitment yet since they are yet to suffer a major cyber-attack (typical Nigeria mentality right?). It is worth noting that some companies didn't take digital security seriously enough to patch known vulnerabilities in Windows software and that is what opened door to the famous WannaCry Ransomware. What does this translate to for businesses opened to cyber-attacks? It is time to take Cyber Security at neck deep seriousness. It has become abundantly clear that no network is completely safe, once where companies thought they could defend themselves against an onslaught, they’re now realizing that resistance is, if not futile, certainly less important than having a plan in place to detect and neutralize intruders when they strike as many businesses most likely do not have any formal cyber security incident response plan across their organizations. Rather than understate the risk of a cyber-attack, businesses must “accept the reality” that they will be breached and to plan for this inevitability, companies must identify their most important information and where this data resides. They must then monitor access to this data across networks, systems and endpoint devices. Risks are not just within the walls of the organization anymore, inter-dependencies with other businesses and third parties across the business ecosystem also breed risks. Humans poor process implementation or social engineering is also a thing, Humans are curious creatures and, in a big organization, there will always be an employee who clicks on a booby-trapped link or attachment(phishing) - perhaps in an email that appears to be from a boss or someone that steals an employee’s log-in credentials and gets access to the company network. No longer can organizations understate their risk of cyber-attacks. Denying the widespread thinking that bad things happen only to other companies merely postpones the inevitable. But fully accepting the repercussions of a cyber-attack is a great motivator for businesses to take action before it’s too late.

yandevboy:Nigerians don't really think through unfolding stories before they react. I think the December issue gave MMM and their organizers the needed brain to survive which is worthy of applaud. But meanwhile, its still a dangerous game to play with your hard earned money ooo. I no dey oo |
Whoever is behind this MMM thing should be applauded, I see somebody who has been doing quite a handful of home works. Increase Mavro returns but reduce GH actions. Which means if you invest 300k, it will take you 60days to get all the money in total. Its not heavy returns on investment that kills crowdfunding platforms, its withdrawal of Huge chunk sum and no deposit of similar huge chunk. So now you can't withdraw any huge chunk anymore, knowing Nigerians very well, after getting the first week return on investment, they will ph DAT again while waiting for the other weeks to come. Its psychology. You get ur money in pieces. Babangida strategy. This might seem disastrous but trust me, this is a carefully thought through strategy. Crowd funding system can actually survive in Nigeria because 1. If you like preach till tomorrow, people won't stop looking for money in Nigeria, not just about recession, an average Nigerian lives below a dollar per day (thats less than 500naira) and there's no where to get easy money and as long as people keep patronising, it will keep working even if the number of participants drop to 500k, they will keep paying themselves and keep getting returns. It's simple strategy.. Cooperative societies should learn a thing or two from this guys Omo I might just put some small change in this things o |

If you don't know enough to know insurance is hot cake in Nigeria presently, don't go for the interview. Insurance has moved away from B2C to B2B now so if you can't handle B2B, don't get yourself frustrated with unrealistic targets. Zenith Insurance pays well if you can work your socks off and can climb up the ladder to a senior marketing executive. I know a Senior marketing executive in Zenith insurance with about 4 - 5M salary per annum. Minus sales bonus. So if youvare ready to roll your sleeves and get dirty. You will enjoy it. Its not a walk in the park tho. Its not the typw of job you take because you just want to collect salary. Lmaoo |
Congrats. You just played yourself ggnggroup: |
You can't but shake head for some Nigeria firms. Some just act like they didn't even pass thru a university. What's all this? A digital marketer with web development knowledge. Thats like A construction company asking for a Secretary with a construction experience. BS |
