Ok here's my take. @ OP, I also understand your worry which I think, is legit. I also understand your friend who pointed this out to you. She was right in making that observation because the situation is a tricky one. My issue is not even with you both sitting on the same couch, it's with him staying up to watch TV with you until you go to bed especially since he has a girlfriend who is in the same house and has gone to bed. To be honest, there may not be much to it, but if this is something he does regularly, then there's a problem. If the guy stays up late once in a while because he has to finish a movie or there's a program he wants to watch, that's one thing. But if he stays up even when he doesn't need to, just to make sure you go to bed before he does, there's definitely some sort of feeling involved. It's one of two things. It's either he cares about you or likes you. Like I said, it may just be a harmless feeling, but I don't think it's proper. And moreover, it may all be innocent now but you both are setting yourselves up for temptation, and when it comes, you both may not be able to control it. I've seen it happen.

I think the guy should show respect to his girlfriend and retire when she does, or not stay up too late. You have a right to stay up as late as u want. IT'S YOUR PLACE NOT HIS!!! If anyone should leave the living room, he should. But please, if he still continues, just respect yourself and leave the room for him. Just go to bed biko. Don't put yourself in a situation where you'll be tempted (unless you want to), cos I don't think you want the drama. I know what I'm saying cos being a girl and knowing how we think, it'll not take long for the girlfriend to start having suspicions. And quite frankly, I won't blame her.

It all depends on how u guys broke up. If u guys ended d relationship with understandings, where no body feels hurt, then the answer is yes i'll attend.
