When you read Matt 24 and its parallel in Luke 21, it is interesting to note that Jesus actually indicated the time period of when the things He spoke of would happen. He said that THIS GENERATION (i.e. the audience He was directly addressing at THAT time NOT a generation 2000 years after) Luke 21:32, Matt 24:34. And scripturally, a generation is 40 years. (Matt 1) Hence, when God told Moses that THAT generation wouldn't enter the promise land, He wasn't thinking about a generation 2000 years away, it was the people he was with THEN. That's why they spent 40 years in the wilderness for THAT generation to die off. A generation is 40 years. So, with respect to Matt 24 and its parallel Luke 21, Jesus said those things he spoke of would be fulfilled in THAT generation. A deeper study of the scriptures and a good knowledge of world history of THAT generational period will show that Jesus was (of course) right. This is something worth pondering on. |
Pastor Poju's response My attention has been drawn to articles going around some websites that an article I wrote on how one can remain effective during these times was written in response to Bishop Oyedepo's statement on the closure of Churches. That assumption/inference is simply incorrect. Facts can easily be verified by checking time-lines. My article was written before Bishop Oyedepo spoke. I do understand that certain narratives drive traffic to websites and sowing seeds of division does attract attention. I would like to make it clear and on record that my article was written 48hours before he spoke. In the article I did emphasise that criticising other ministries and churches operations is not a sign of strength on one's part so the article contradicts the conclusions being inferred. |
CLEARLY, this man is NO man of God. So his advice to "fellow" men of God is invalid |
When you said that Abeokuta was the INDUSTRIAL CAPITAL of the SW, I was expecting to see more of factories and industrial parks. Most of what was shown were hotels, residential quarters and some recreational centres. If it's these pictures you're using as a yardstick, then your post has failed to substantiate its claim as Lagos far exceeds Abeokuta in these. Show us factories springing up THEN your claim will be more believable. Thank you nevertheless for the nice pictures though |

He clearly showed that he is firmly against actions that seek to divide Nigeria. Some of his answers were not so direct, but then again, some of the journalists "questions" were too long and winding. |
I seriously doubt the veracity of this story. There is a strong likelihood that she may guilty of some unprofessional conduct, but to the tune of N500b? Come on! It doesn't just make sense. Most of the Forbes billionaires don't have most of their worth in cash. Are we to believe that someone as enlightened as Mrs. Ibru will keep it in cash even when it was clear her bank (her baby) needed the money? Now there seems to be more to this matter than meets the eye if you ask me. |
