fresh_dude: In April, I was outta town and a transfer failed to materialise and seeing as I knew nobody around I decided to withdraw the last 500naira in my account.
I get to the bank at 8am after sleeping hungry and present a filled-out withdrawal slip to the teller and he looks up at me and says I don't ha ve enough to withdraw that amount, I wan die.
He then goes on to explain that I'll be paying a 100naira charge for not using my atm card, come see as I dey smile on top 400naira.
I collect my money leave the bank premises buy bread and butter and tea tutu for 130naira, get a 100naira recharge card and call the mofo who put me through the mess and cursed his generations yet unborn.
Point is, I was overjoyed with my 400naira, would I do that again? Yes, if hunger threatens to put an end to my dreams and happiness.

unmask: think there has been a 4.98 in unilag....one lady in psychology
The Lady from Psychology actually made 4.89 but there has been several overall best graduating students with upwards of 4.95 in Unilag and even schools like OAU and UI ........so it is very possible not only in private uni

kayswag100: Could someone Kindly inform me if it is possible to graduate from a Govt. UNI with a 4.96 CGPA?

That means from 100l to 400/500, all As and just about 2 or 3 Bs over all. HOOOOOOOW na? angry angry angry angry angry

Even Uni lag and UI first classes would be like 4.6 or that range.

Btw, this ain't envy but just awe!!!
Bambo Sosina emerged best graduating student at the University of Lagos(Mathematics dept) in 2009 with a CGPA of 4.96 and Alawode Babatunde graduated overall best student also from Unilag(Mech Engnr dept) in 2010 with 4.93, Also Akhigbe Iziren with 4.94 in 2011.......So it is possible.....Just give it to them.

Wow.. R u pretty sure its d Senior manager?
Well if it is.. Dunno if dat unit partakes in group assessments.. But if it was suppose to be a 3 stage process and they decide to skip a stage, mayb they r tryin to make d recruitment process faster cos really I wonder how they plan on interviewing all d candidates with loads of ppl on d waitin list. And they r still conductin tests! Anyways if u chk earlier comments on this thread... There is more dan enough info on here, xcept if a person in dat unit decides to shed more light. This case is very rare I must confess. Best of luck bro, and let us knw how it goes.

Pls i need your advice as regards the interview process and the likely questions i will be asked. Thanks in anticipation.
Career / Re: How Did You Succeed With Your 2-2 Or 3rd Class? by Dgbem: 9:24pm On Jul 27, 2013
Thats usually if you want to run your masters program in Nigeria. With a 3rd class, u can still get admission for masters without pgd in a number of U.K/U.S/Canada Schools(especially in U.K schools). Tho they are usually quite expensive.....
Fadelex:
nope, you have to do postgraduate diploma first (pgd)
Career / Re: How Did You Succeed With Your 2-2 Or 3rd Class? by Dgbem: 8:29pm On Jul 27, 2013
Word of Advice: You CAN HARDLY get any university in the United states that will offer you Scholarship with a 3rd Class undergraduate degree. Usually what people refer to as Scholarship in the United states is Graduate/Teaching assistanships that offer full Tuition waiver and Monthly stipend.Award of these assistanships for graduate studies basically depends on three factors: 1. GRE(Science degrees)/GMAT(Management degrees)scores 2. UNDERGRADUATE Transcript 3. Recommendation Letters. Having mentioned these, the quality of a "3rd Class" Transcript will Severely hurt your chances and that stands for reason because the work a graduate/research assistant is "very academic". There are some schools that offer Fellowships(Full scholarships without any form of Commitment)...but ur transcript must be OUTSTANDING to get sumtin like that(Anything below a first class from Nigeria will hardly count)........On the other hand, if u have MONEY( I mean like millions of Naira), u can earn ur graduate degree in the schools there without having to bother too much about ur transcript. In summary, pls do more research about ur plans. I wish you the very best..... unto
Afritop: A BROTHER OF MINE ADVISED THAT I TAKE THE GMAT EXAM (GRADUATE MANAGEMENT ADMISSION TEST), EMPHASIZING THAT A HIGH SCORE ABOVE 300 MARKS WILL HELP COVER UP FOR MY 3rd CLASS GRADE I GOT FROM THE UNIVERSITY AND WITH THAT SCORE, UNIVERSITIES AT THE UNITED STATES WILL CONSIDER AND AWARD ME WITH A SCHOLARSHIP TO STUDY FOR A MASTERS AT THE STATES. Right now i am preparing like craze but i don't know if top flight universities will consider me, because i am yet to hear of testimonies

Family / Re: My Husband Has Turned Me To A Punching Bag by Dgbem: 6:38pm On Jul 21, 2013
About a year ago, you posted on this same forum "My Fiance is verbally Abusive". You talked about how hot-tempered he is, how he calls u names and how he has pushed u several times. At the time, you were not married to him and fellow nairalanders(almost everyone that made comments) strongly advised you to leave. To refresh your memory, here is the link: https://www.nairaland.com/957132/fiance-verbally-abusive . Now you are back here, one year later,in a marriage u were advised against on this same forum, seeking for help.....ain't that confusing? My opinion: I believe you need to resolve a very private problem, because that reason that made u marry him despite seeing all the wrong signs will still make you stay in the marriage, regardless of how bad he becomes....
Doctorazz: I never thought i would be saying this ,but here i am.

My husband whom i dated for 8 years and have been married to for under 1 year has turned me into a punching bag.i went through his phone and confronted him via bb msg for a chat he had with a certain female friend and there and then he started landing slaps on me,my head, ear, face etc for more than 6 hrs i have been feeling intense headache.

He apparently has a problem with his family, which he refused to disclose to me about which seems to be annoying him.He beat me mercilessly in the presence of our maid.

I've been of great assistance to him before we got married. Right from our university days, i always shared my pocket money with him, etc. been extremely nice to him even though i have my own human errors.

Looking back now,he always had the signs of wife battery, but in a way,i blame myself, because when i should have left,i discovered i was pregnant thereby being trapped in such a terrible situation.

My parents think i have the best marriage because they are aware of only his good sides, but at home, behind closed doors,he is a demon.

I am living in a nightmare, don't know what to do.

I feel like running away.

pls nairalanders help ,i don't want to be the woman her husband killed.!!!
