Foreign AffairsRe: Obama: Gaddafi's Death A Warning To Others - Who's he threatening? by dgr8truth(m): 8:25pm On Oct 27, 2011
milehigh06:
see al-Qaeda apologist having seizures cos one of your former leaders has been killed.you were all shouting why wont Obama talk of Syria, newsflash,America recalls ambassador to Syria. that's how it starts and they have already started calling syrias leader out.sure the ongoing effort to flush out RUF from Somalia is also a bad thing in the eyes of you deluded and confused fools.you open your mouths and call obama the white man's stooge, well, only if you get to see the way he is being treated by the white business community/white republicans and a few white democrats then you will open your clouded brains, the business community is basically the reason why the economy is stagnated, they are sirtting on $10 trillion which they have refused to invest in the economy despite the govt bailing them out when they had suckered the people in as many ways as they like, they want Obama out so that they can keep paying lesser taxes than the poor, keep going to countries like india and china to open sweat shops and pay the people of those countries chicken feed,America's problem with the world is a republican one and as long as they rule, they will always treat the world as a dump site for them.As much as you all shout about gadaffi, why were there Libyans all over mende village, Maryland, ikeja cantonment and surulere in the early 90s and late 2000s.and hey they were not doing any meaningful jobs, they were basically beggars.if it was as good as you all were or are still claiming, why did you not move to Libya then?or why did you not move to be near your so-called anointed leader gaddaffy, did his son not claim that they will all die in Libya?why is he offering to give himself up in exchange for details on   people murdered during his father's time?Dont get me wrong,America definitely has her major share with regards to the ills of this world but Libyans killed gaddaffy, not Americans, Libyans cos based on that video online,I see no american there,if he was that good,60% of the country would not have stood against him,the only part of Libya that stood up for him till death was sirte(his birth place)YOU CAN NEVER EVER EVER EVER CLAIM TO LOVE LIBYA MORE THAN LIBYANS and that is a fact,if at least 60% of his nation could go against him,the only show of support he ever had that was on Libyan tv was only in Tripoli, every major city had demonstrations demanding him to step down but we have Nigerians coming here speaking like every single human being was in support of Ghadaffy. Why not face Nigeria's issue right now,we are still having issues with every facet of life in that country but still yet we are more bothered about issues of other countries
It was this same set of people who were having issues with the recent drone killing of 2 American terrorists, well,in the american constitution if you take arms against the state you automatically loose that right to be termed a citizen and hey those complaining about Iraq,Troops will be home by December,he did not start the war in Iraq but he sure as hell is ending it despite every republican calling him all sorts of names for saying he was bringing the troops home,as soon as Gadaffy was killed, every republican started talking of oil and al-qaeda while almost all democrats started calling for an election to be held,Obama is asking for the system to change from depending on oil to that of a green economy but guess what also, every republican is against it,they would rather dig and dig and dig where ever they feel and yet they are already talking of the oil in Libya, like I said,America's issue with the world is a republican based one and as soon as you start taking a look at who actually is taking the decisions that affect different countries, your eyes might be opened
You made some salient points. All the posts on the first page is a reflection of the myopic thinking of most Nigerian. We are more lybians than the lybians themselves. They were the ones that killed Gadaffi, not Americans, They were the ones that started the protest not Americans, They were the ones that were been murdered by Gadaffi not Americans, They were the ones been called rats by Gadaffi not Americans, not even Obama. The lybian protest was inspired that triumph of the Egyptian protest and Tunisian protest. If America has interest in Lybia, na wetin concern you? na your country? Your country wey Jagajaga, wetin you don do about am? Make una leave Obama alone, He has his problem to deal with. Nigerians deal with you problem proactively, not passively, now that you have time and life.

When I thought that I have seen the worse this entity Nigeria can offer, cry cry cry cry

Who is this Lady? Where did she read her law? Who is she trying to impress me or you? Is her children better off? that is if she has any. What if the boy is her son, how will she feel.
Nairaland GeneralBoy, 13, Jailed For Pelting Obasanjo's Convoy With 'pure Water' by dgr8truth(op): 9:16pm On Apr 14, 2011
A 13-year-old boy, Precious Efurueze, who is accused of allegedly attempting to kill former president Olusegun Obasanjo and the governor of Imo State, Ikedi Ohakim, in Owerri on 31, March, by stoning their campaign convoy with sachets of pure water; was on Wednesday denied bail by a chief magistrate court in Owerri.

Master Efurueze is among 18 people charged with attempted murder for participation in the attack on Messrs. Obasanjo and Ohakim. Notable among the accused is Prince Madumere, the chief of staff to the gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), Rochas Okorocha.

At the resumed hearing of the suit yesterday the presiding magistrate, V.C Isiguzo, while delivering ruling on the application for bail for the accused, explained that her court has no jurisdiction on two of the charges because they are punishable by life imprisonment. Mrs. Isiguzo, however, turned down the accused's request to be granted bail until the conclusion of the substantive suit.

The chief magistrate explained that her reason for denying the accused bail is that they had been charged with felony which carries a punishment of life imprisonment if found guilty. She said the offence is a serious one and, therefore, should not be treated lightly.

Speaking to newsmen at the end of the court session, Greg Okemiri, the counsel representing the 12th to the 16th accused persons, while expressing his displeasure with the ruling of the magistrate, hinted that the reason the application was denied may be political. He was also angered by the continued detention of Master Efurueze who, he explained, under the law of the country, by virtue of being a minor, is considered incapable of committing a crime.

"The law describes him as not capable of committing crime yet," he said. "All these things are in our law. Sometimes I feel very sad that we do not want to do things right. You see someone who the law describes as not capable of committing a crime yet, and you remand him in an adult prison." Mr. Okemiri, however, stated that he has taken steps to see that the boy is released soon. The case was adjourned to May 30, for further hearing.

Honestly I hate PDP, I won't trust my future with them and I will never do. But the way this PDP's presidential flag bearer is going about his election into office is something that is very concerning. I definately believe he will win again aside rigging becuase he has campaign structure that will garner him votes which the opposition I support don't have. These opposition parties, if at all we have any should think, be creative on how to campaign and win votes, but if they lack originality or creativity then they should mimic GEJ campaign strategies and style. All I want is "A Breath of Fresh Air" from Ribadu or Buhari, Ribadu most preferably. But I fear for them that they won't win. If only miracle will happen but wisehes are not horses.

PoliticsDubai Allows Nigerian Extradition by dgr8truth(op): 6:47pm On Dec 13, 2010
Nigeria ex-governor James Ibori faces extradition to UK

Dubai's highest court has ruled that former Nigerian state governor James Ibori can be extradited to the UK to face corruption charges.

He is accused by Nigeria's anti-corruption agency of stealing more than $290m (£196m) of state funds while in office in the oil-rich Delta state.

British investigators say he channelled much of the money into banks in the UK.

Mr Ibori, who denies the charges, was detained in May after the intervention of the global police agency Interpol.

A month before he arrived in the Gulf emirate, a group of his supporters attacked police and prevented them from arresting him in his home town.

The Dubai Court of Cassation ruled that there were no grounds to block the extradition.

In 2007 a London court froze UK assets worth $35m allegedly belonging to him. His annual salary was less than $25,000.

He had already left the UK when his assets were seized.

Mr Ibori, who is a senior figure in Nigeria's ruling People's Democratic Party (PDP), was first arrested in Nigeria in December 2007.

Two years later, a court in Asaba cleared him of 170 charges of corruption, saying there was no clear evidence to convict, sparking the anger of Nigeria's anti-corruption agency, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Under Nigeria's federal system, state governors enjoy wide powers.

Those running oil-rich states have budgets larger than those of some African countries.

They enjoy immunity from prosecution while in power, but several have faced corruption charges since leaving office after the last election in 2007.

The wife of the publisher of a main Nigerian newspaper, the Vanguard,- Mrs Amuka Pemu according to Pointblank news is reportedly seen in these pictures conducting a ritual murder of a little boy, supposedly to save her bedridden children. According to her statement, she conspired with her husband to perform this gruesome atrocity to save their childrens healths. Human sacrifice in Nigeria as compared to western serial murder is not done by psychopaths but done by insane individuals, more likely of higher social status, for monetary, status or other ridiculous magical gains.

Law suits

The avalanche of law suits already lined against the management and reporters of the Vanguard Newspaper is not stopping human rights activist and lawyer, Chief Giwa Amu. Chief Amu has written the Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Mike Okiro insisting that Mrs.Oyindamola Amuka-Pemu did commit murder and must be prosecuted.

This is coming as fresh pictures have now surfaced showing the allegedly murdered boy’s severed head and headless body. The pictures are already being authenticated by forensic and photographic experts contacted by Pointblanknews.com at the John Jay’s College of Criminal Justice, City University of New York, CUNY…

Several other Forensic experts have also expressed interest in assisting the Court in working on the case.

However, Chief Amu said that his recent arraignment for wrongful information to the Nigeria Police was a ploy orchestrated to scare him from providing legal representation to Mr. Steve Ugwu-Chinua who allegedly caught Mrs. Oyindamola Amuka-Pemu and her cohort in the dastardly crime of human sacrifice.

Ahead of the May 27, 2009, resumed hearing of the prosecution of his client, Mr. Ugwu-Chinua, at an Ikeja Magistrate Court, Chief Amu is asking the Inspector-General to halt the charade in which the accused was being made government witness.

In the letter dated April 30, 2009, Chief Amu said that Mrs. Amuka-Pemu did connive with her husband to sacrifice “an eleven year-old child” for rituals in order to secure healing for their bedridden child.

The matter has also been filed with the Police Complaint Commission in Abuja.

There are strong indications that at least two lawmakers may have their political careers on the line on account of their refusal to hold public hearings on the vexed issue of Police conniving with the Amuka’s to have justice miscarried.

Senator Gbenga Ogunniya of Ondo Central Senatorial District suddenly finds himself in the eye of the storm and he is now labeled as loving money than Nigerian children and the laws of the land. He is Chairman of Police affairs Committee of the senate in Nigeria.

Lagos Investigative Reporter Sues Vanguard for 40 billion Naira Demands Apology

Independent investigative Journalist, Mr. Steve Ugwu-Chinua has begun a major legal swing against the publisher of Vanguard Newspaper of Nigeria on account of being defamed and portrayed as a “Fake Journalist”. The Lagos Journalist has sued Pemu-Amuka, the paper’s editors and eight reporters for an unprecedented forty billion Naira.

Mr. Ugwu-Chinua is the courageous Nigerian reporter who allegedly witnessed the ritual killing of a yet to be identified young boy, in Ikorodu, Lagos. He waged a relentless battle to get the Nigerian Police to prosecute the alleged murderer, Mrs. Oyindamola Amuka, wife of Mr. Samuel Pemu-Amuka; the publisher of Vanguard Newspaper, the matter was swept under the rug and at most became a cover-up between the media and the Police, until published by pointblanknews.com.

The painful exposure of the alleged killing of the innocent boy became an immediate reason for Mr. Amuka to deploy the arsenals of his one-time influential newspaper, the Vanguard and its Journalists for massive campaign of calumny and character assassination against Mr. Ugwu- Chinua, his Lawyer, Chief Giwa Amu and pointblanknews.com.

In a suit filled at the Lagos High Court, Mr. Ugwu Chinua is tendering his professional qualifications which include a Diploma Certificate in Journalism and an Advanced Diploma Certificate in Journalism from Times Journalism Institute, TJI, a Letter of accreditation issued by the Federal Ministry of Police Affairs, and a Times Institute of Journalism Alumni letter.

Mr. Ugwu Chinua is praying for “perpetual restraining order” against all parties involved in the smear campaign being run by the Vanguard Newspapers.

PDP conducts aptitude test for aspirants

Testing the intelligent quotient of aspirants on the platform of the PDP in Cross River State is now a precondition to receiving the party’s nomination form, the party’s leadership has said.

Those who fail the aptitude test are barred from even picking nomination forms, following the resolve not to give power to those that are barely lettered. The test, which includes both written and oral, is administered by the caucus members for each of the 18 local government chapters.

This exercise, it was understood, is also to screen out those who are members of the numerous cult groups bestriding the political landscape of the state. This is in line with state governor, Liyel Imoke’s resolve to bar cultists from holding political office in the state.

“Most of the politicians in the state know those who are cult members,” said a member of the party leadership who asked to remain anonymous. “Those in the know have been feeding the state government and security agencies with information on such members with a view to disqualifying them and thus save the state from further embarrassment of violent cult clashes during and after elections.”

Calabar South chapter of the PDP took the lead in administering aptitude tests on aspirants into the council’s political offices. The test was meant to assess the mental capability of the aspirants in view of the fact that most outgoing councillors in the area are school dropouts. Party leaders say poorly educated persons in political positions in the state have proved to be pawns in the hands of the educated ones.

In 2007, during an informal screening by the party of those seeking office of councillor, two aspirants did not know what the three arms of government meant. The two told the panel that the three arms of government were Mark Four, AK 47 and Pump Action, grin grin grin all referring to the guns that they were familiar with in fighting rivals.

This stunned the panel, yet the duo still made it into the council because they had godfathers to see them through. It is these so-called godfathers that sponsor street urchins-turned-cultists to fight their enemies on their behalf during electioneering campaigns.

Prominent PDP chieftains in Calabar South who conducted the aptitude test include MGershom Bassey and two members of the state House of Assembly, Orok Otu Duke and Maurice Orok Edem. The test, which commenced in the afternoon of last Saturday, ended in the early hours of the following day.

Local government chairman aspirants who participated in the test include: the incumbent council chairman, Andem Ekpo Bassey; his deputy, Majorie Eyo Asuquo; Charles Effanga; Edem Bassey; Ewa Henshaw and two others. All the over 50 aspirants for councillors also took part.

Not a witch-hunt

The result was announced on the floor after the tests had been marked by the panel of examiners, which included a few academics. Mrs Asuquo came first, followed by Messrs Henshaw and Effanga. The incumbent chairman came a distant fifth position. Those outside the first three positions stand disqualified.

Mr Duke said the result of the first three persons has been forwarded to the state secretariat of the PDP, as aspirants qualified to contest the primary for the party’s ticket for the August 28 local government elections in the state.

The same situation applied to councillor aspirants. The test, he said, showed that most of the aspirants do not know simple current affairs or what the offices they are seeking entail.

“This exercise,” he said, “is not meant to witch hunt anybody, but to the test the IQ of those aspiring to lead. We can no more allow illiterates to lead us. We want to bring sanity to bear in public office. We want leaders that know their onions and councillors who can make robust legislation, to stand for elections.”

He said the aptitude test proved that the standard of education in Nigeria has truly fallen, as most of the candidates showed that they cannot spell simple words, yet they parade good grade certificates.

Other Local Government Areas across the state will also conduct aptitude tests for those aspiring on the platform of the PDP. Councillors in Cross River State, on assumption of office, are given a brand new car, receive a furniture allowance running into millions of naira, are supposed to quarterly organise constituency meetings and deliver lectures, among other things “All this,” Mr Duke says, “demands that councillors and council heads should be up and doing academically so that they don’t embarrass their people when they meet their counterparts from other parts of the country.”
