https://naijaexclusive.net/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/Mugabe-1.jpg Yes It’s True I Was Dead And Resurrected Robert Mugabe : Zimbabwe’s President Robert Mugabe joked Saturday that he had been resurrected as he returned from a foreign trip, mocking rumours that he had died or is critically ill. “Yes, I was dead. It’s true I was dead. I resurrected as I always do once I get back to my country. I am real again,” the 92-year-old ruler told reporters at Harare international airport after arriving from Dubai. His comments came after an online news site reported he had died mid-air on his trip to Dubai. Mugabe’s health has been increasingly under the spotlight in recent years, particularly after he fell down a staircase after addressing supporters last year. He has denied ill-health reports and vowed to stand for reelection in 2018, but recent weeks have seen a surge of demonstrations against his rule, which stretches back to Zimbabwe’s independence in 1980. Zimbabwe police announced on Thursday a two-week ban on protests in the capital Harare, after a string of violent demonstrations in recent weeks calling on Mugabe to step down. Most private higher institutions in Nigeria have been accused of engaging in acts that abuse the liberty of students and a recent public declaration by 'Babcock University' confirms the assertions. An unverifiedTwitter account in the name of Babcock University, Illisan-remo, Ogun state has announced the plan of the school to search the laptops of returning students for adult movies which are not allowed by school regulations in hostels. Although the school has neither confirmed nor denied this yet, twitter account (@Babcockuni_ng) is currently trending and receiving backlash on Nigerian twitter for stating that there would be a thorough search for pornographic videos in the laptops of all undergraduates of Babcock university, when they arrive for a new semester. The account (which is probably a parody account due to the questionable followership) advised the students to "reduce it to the lowest level possible". Nigerians are currently enjoying the fun in mockery of the strict behavioural regulations applicable to private schools in Nigeria. https://i0.wp.com/gidibest.com.ng/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/man-rape-dog20tori_ng.jpg An angry mob has descended its wrath on a man who was said to have r*ped a dog and at the same time livestreamed the video on the internet. A man who allegedly livestreamed himself raping dogs was left naked and beaten in the street after an animal vigilante group lured him into a trap. The unnamed man also reportedly charged customers £5 to beat dogs before having sex with them while broadcasting the abusive content live to thousands of viewers. Dog lovers first noticed the horrific streams three weeks ago and tracked the man to southwestern China’s Sichuan province where they reportedly found him running a dog brothel. A number of vigilantes chatted with the man for several days before luring him into a trap when they arranged to meet for a chat “about his “hobby”. He was met by dozens of activists who immediately set upon him. Dramatic footage shows the man completely n*ked in the street after being dragged from his home. The furious mob then surround him and begin kicking and punching him in front of shocked onlookers. The beating was eventually stopped when local residents called police and the man was taken to hospital for treatment, Mirror UK, reports. https://naijaexclusive.net/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/images-44-300x230.jpg For Mayowa Ahmed’s treatment, more than 80 million naira was generated a few days after the campaign was launched through the efforts of Nollywood actress, Toyin Aimakhu, and Miss Aramide Kasumu, the director of Lifestake Foundation. Mayowa’s story went bad following Aimakhu’s alleged declaration on social media that the fund raiser was a scam. The police, who intervened in the matter and froze the account where the sum raised was deposited, after investigating the allegations the two parties levelled against each other, later described the controversy as a mere misunderstanding. They lifted the ban on the account, opening the way for Mayowa to be transferred to a hospital in South Africa, which had allegedly offered to carry out a surgery to save her life. However, it turned out an effort too little too late, as Mayowa, who was flown to South Africa for treatment on August 10 died 11 days later. Her death was announced by a family member, Asiwaju Foye, in a series of tweets. The tweet had stated: “BY ALLAH, IN WHOSE HANDS OUR LIVES IS, MAYOWA AHMED HAS LEFT US IN THIS WORLD. WE PRAY THAT JANNAT BECOMES HER HOME #RIPMAYOWA. SHE TRIED, WE TRIED BUT GOD’S WILL PREVAILED #RIPMAYOWA.” But for most Nigerians, the mourning days appear to have ended and they are now asking what becomes of the millions raised from the #SaveMayowa campaign. A representative of the Ahmed family, Tope Adeniran, who spoke with The Nation, said the family was still mourning Mayowa’s loss. Tope, who sounded distraught, said: “I AM NOT READY TO TALK TO ANY JOURNALIST ON ANY STORY. I JUST LOST SOMEONE, CAN’T YOU GUYS SYMPATHISE WITH US?” The Police Public Relations Officer, Ms. Dolapo Badmus, who spoke with one of their correspondents, said that the police would brief the media on the matter at the appropriate time on what would be done with the remaining sum realised from the campaign. Badmus said: “WE ARE ALL HUMAN BEINGS. WHEN A LIFE IS LOST, THE FIRST THING IS TO COMMISERATE WITH THE FAMILY. RIGHT NOW, WE ARE CONDOLING WITH MEMBERS OF MAYOWA’S FAMILY. I DON’T THINK THE ISSUE OF MONEY SHOULD BE THE FIRST THING FOR US TO BE TALKING ABOUT RIGHT NOW. SO, WE WANT TO LEAVE THE FAMILY FOR SOME TIME TO GO THROUGH THEIR PRIVATE PERIOD OF MOURNING. BUT AT THE APPROPRIATE TIME, WE WILL FEED THE MEMBERS OF THE PRESS BACK ON THE DECISIONS WE HAVE MADE. WE WILL STILL ACT AT THE APPROPRIATE TIME.” Some leaders of non-governmental organisations involved with women causes and health care also shared their thoughts with The Nation on what can be done with the fund. The Executive Director, Centre for Children’s Health Education, Orientation and Protection (CEE-HOPE), Mrs. Betty Abah believes that Mayowa’s family, after they must have mourned her sufficiently, should make a public statement on what they intend to do with the fund. Abah said: “AS THE SAYING GOES, THE DEED HAS BEEN DONE AND WE CANNOT QUESTION GOD. IT IS TIME TO TAKE THE NEXT STEP AND THAT SHOULD BE FULLY CHARACTERISED BY TRANSPARENCY IN THE LIGHT OF THE RECENT CONTROVERSY. MY THOUGHTS WOULD BE THAT THEY CAN DONATE TO A CHARITY ORGANISATION HAVING TO DO WITH CANCER. “I REALLY CAN’T RECALL HEARING MUCH FROM THE FAMILY FOLLOWING MAYOWA’S DEATH. I THINK THEY NEED TO MAKE A STATEMENT THANKING THE SUPPORTERS, AS WELL AS STATING THE WAY FORWARD, AND THAT SHOULD INCLUDE THE USE OF THE FUND.” In the opinion of Dr Femi Olaleye, the founder and medical director of Optimal Cancer Care Foundation, a foremost NGO that offers health services in cancer related ailments for women, the funds generated should be donated to a cancer foundation so that more women can be saved. Olaleye said: “THERE ARE LOTS OF WOMEN TO HELP IN CRYOTHERAPY, BREAST CANCER SURGERY AND OTHER WOMEN RELATED CANCER AILMENTS. MY FOUNDATION OFFERS FREE BREAST AND CERVICAL SCREENING FOR WOMEN EVERY FRIDAY. “SO THERE IS A LOT OF OPPORTUNITIES FOR THEM TO DO GREAT WITH THAT MONEY AND GIVE BACK. I WILL MANAGE IT FOR THEM. IF NOT EVEN ALL OF IT, THEY CAN USE SOME OF IT AND GIVE BACK TO OTHER WOMEN WHO CAN COME HERE AND ACCESS TREATMENT. MORE IMPACT CAN BE MADE THAT WAY.” Efforts to speak with Toyin Aimakhu on the latest development were futile. It will be recalled that in the wake of the controversy surrounding the funds after the alarm she raised on her suspicions of Mayowa’s family’s motives, Aimakhu took to her tweeter handle to explain her involvement in the fund raiser. In the said tweet, the actress had said: “I WANT TO STATE FOR THE RECORDS THAT I HAVE NEVER BEEN A FRAUD AND WILL NEVER PARTAKE IN ONE, NOT EVEN AT THIS STAGE OF MY CAREER (WHICH I HOLD TO HEART). “ALL MY EFFORTS WERE STRICTLY ON HUMANITARIAN GROUNDS WITHOUT RECOURSE TO ANY PECUNIARY CONSIDERATION OR THE RESORT TO CHEAP FAME. “THAT SAID, WHATEVER DISCOMFORT MY REACTIONS MAY HAVE COST ANYONE FROM ANY QUARTERS IS HIGHLY REGRETTED AND I TAKE RESPONSIBILITY. “WHILST I WISH MAYOWA A QUICK RECOVERY AND DIVINE INTERVENTION, I WANT TO URGE US AS A PEOPLE TO CONTINUE TO EXHIBIT THAT ENVIABLE NIGERIAN SPIRIT OF COMPASSION AND GENEROSITY AND NOT BECAUSE OF THIS ISOLATED CASE CEASE TO BE OUR SISTER/BROTHER’S KEEPER.” With the death of Mayowa, it is obvious that the last has not been heard of the controversial #GoFundMe campaign funds. A heartless wife has brutally stabbed her husband after a disagreement leaving him fighting for his life at a hospital. https://i1.wp.com/gidibest.com.ng/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/Kiambu1.jpg A man has been brutally stabbed by his wife several times with his intestines gushing out. The man who is now fighting for at the Nakuru Level Five Hospital was left with extensive abdominal injuries on Monday night. Citizen Digital revealed that Kamau Njiru from Mwariki estate in Nakuru, Kenya, was allegedly attacked by his wife for the second time after he apparently questioned her about the presence of two male friends at their house. Speaking more about the incident, the nurse in charge, Florence Ngoya, said that the patient had been received in the same hospital last year with similar injuries and had reported that he had been attacked by his wife. “He was bleeding profusely when we received him, his intestines were out as the wife had stabbed him in the abdomen. We have, however, managed to stabilize him,” noted the nurse. Ngoya said that the patient was rushed to the hospital by good Samaritans who, she said, did not give their details. She added that the patient regained consciousness and told the medics that he had been attacked by his wife. Police have since launched investigations into the matter |
https://i0.wp.com/gidibest.com.ng/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/sanyeri.jpg Olaniyi ‘Sanyeri’ Afonja is a household name in Nollywood. He has become one of the most known Yoruba actors with many films under his belt. Sanyeri opened up in an interview about the challenges he faced before he finally made a name as an actor. He said: “The suffering I endured was really extreme. After I finished my secondary school education, I did not have a job so I delved into the theatre world. I did it for some time but I was not being paid even when I went everywhere with the group and was helping them carry their costume.” “I had to learn how to repair shoes so I became a shoe cobbler. Eventually, I left Oyo town and came to Lagos to find greener pastures but still I was not earning anything from acting.” “I became a mobile cobbler. I would put my materials in a wooden box, place it on my shoulder and start hitting it as I walked the length and breadth of Idumota.” “I would constantly hit my wooden box as I walked about to call the attention of people. Then nobody knew me so I kept hitting my box all over Idumota.” “I remember I had a handkerchief I used to cover my face because of my tribal marks.” “The reason I concealed my tribal marks was because the Igbo boys at Idumota had the belief that if they did not give their shoes to a Ghanaian cobbler, no one could do a better job.” “If they saw my tribal marks, they would think I was one of the touts that would normally come to disturb them for money for shop and they would not give me their shoes to repair.” “When I saw that being a shoe cobbler was affecting my career as an actor, I had to quit and face acting squarely. I thank God that good fortunes have come my way.” SOURCE: http://gidibest.com.ng/2016/08/i-was-once-a-cobbler-yoruba-actor-sanyeri-opens-up-on-his-journey-to-acting/ |
https://i1.wp.com/gidibest.com.ng/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/aisha20bk.jpg A Facebook user whose identity is purposely concealed has opened up on her interview with Aisha Alkali Wakil aka ‘Mama Boko Haram’ last year in Borno State who has been declared wanted alongside Nigerian journalist, Ahmad Salkida and one Ahmed Bolori over links with Boko Haram sects which they haven’t denied. In a new twist, the woman who is a freelance journalist based in the United Kingdom claims the image of Aisha Alkali Wakil is being maligned in the media by security operatives who have been involved with her at various times in an attempt to broker peace between the Nigerian Government and the rampaging Boko Haram sect. Aisha Alkali Wakil and the current President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari and others at one point were nominated by the Boko Haram sect to negotiate with the Nigerian Government in failed peace deals. The journalist who exclusively broke Aisha Alkali Wakil’s press statement this morning, 15th of August, 2016 confirmed that she had submitted herself to the Defence Headquarters for questioning without fear or favour. Read the startling revelations about the intrigues surrounding the person of Aisha Alkali Wakil and the Boko Haram sect: She is a Nigerian woman who gives all that she has for peace to reign in Nigeria. She is not a fugitive and has never at anytime hidden the fact that she relates with some of the Boko Haram insurgents on the need for them to put an end to the menace they perpetrate. So much was her concern that she held a peace lecture and ‘end boko haram insurgency’ lecture in London last summer which can be verified. The authorities are familiar with her and she has never been in hiding at anytime. She granted several interviews to CNN and ALJAZEERA at various times on the menace of Boko Haram. Hopefully the government of Nigeria only require her presence for questioning rather than for unnecessary politicking. I was one of the organisers of her peace talks in London last year and the one thing I took away from meeting her was her passion for boko haram to end and peace to be restored in the affected regions. In a region where women are given little attention, the announcement of the name of Aisha Wakil as a member of the Committee on Dialogue and Peaceful Resolution of Security Challenges in the northern part of the country came to many as a surprise. Even though not much is known about her, her name has consistently appeared on the list of people allegedly released by the Boko Haram insurgents as one of those to represent them in any form of dialogue or negotiation with the government. In November last year, when the insurgents announced the names of prominent northerners who they wanted to represent them in negotiations with the Federal Government, Aisha Wakil and her husband, Justice Zanna Wakil of the Borno State judiciary, were on the list headed by former Head of State, General Muhammadu Buhari. When the leader of the Supreme Council for Sharia in Nigeria, Sheikh Datti Ahmed, rejected his nomination into the committee, many Nigerians felt disappointed – especially in view of the fact that he is one of those that may have had any form of contact with members of the group. Ahmed was part of the botched peace deal and he believed that the government was not serious about peace with the insurgents. Alongside her husband, Justice Wakil, Aisha, a practicing lawyer was nominated by the government to help resolve the problem. Even though she was called the mystery lady, many Nigerians may not be aware of the fact that she has been in touch with some members of Boko Haram and was even instrumental to a ceasefire declaration announced by the group at a time which was later denied by another faction of the group. During one peace march by women in Borno State, she was quoted as asking them to come out and state their grievances. “My sons, I have been begging you since in silence to come out and state your grievances and stop destroying your homeland. Please come out and state your grievances and stop these killings,” she allegedly said amidst tears. One Mohammed Amin Abdullahi, who said Aisha was a friend to his sister, claimed on his Facebook page that Aisha Wakil actually hails from the South-East, but converted to Islam when verses of the Holy Qur’an started appearing on her skin and blended well with the Borno Muslim community. He wrote “Barr. Aisha Wakil, I would say, is a mysterious woman. She is Igbo by tribe and was a Christian during her education in University of Maiduguri many years ago. She converted to Islam when inscriptions of verses from the Holy Qur’an started appearing on her skin. Members of the sect became so close to her that they even called her mummy. “They visited her house at will. She even sold her valuables to feed them, just to convince them to drop their weapons. There was a time she seized from them and burnt a note book containing the lists of people killed and those to be killed. “A lot of them confessed to her that they were fed up with the sect activities. She has been trying to convince members to stop their insurgency long before the issue of dialogue and amnesty started. I got to know all these because she is a close friend of my sister’s, who is also a human rights activist. I once drove my sister, whose name I don’t want to mention here, to Aisha’s house and had the opportunity of seeing the sect members.” Barrister Wakil, who works with the National Human Rights Commission, told Peoples Daily, an Abuja-based newspaper that largely covers the north, that her relationship with members of the sect dates back to a time before the conflict began and before the death of the spiritual leader of the group. She also alluded to the insinuation that she was an Igbo lady. She was quoted as saying that she “started the dialogue process since 2009, even before the major crisis erupted, because I knew their slain spiritual leader, Muhammad Yusuf. His father in-law, late Alhaji Baba Fugu Mohammed, was my spiritual father in Islam, and I used to visit his home. “In fact, Mohammed Yusuf almost married my younger sister Amina, but Almighty Allah did not make it possible. So that was how I got closer to the duo. It went even to the extent that I was cooking food and taking it to the house of late Alhaji Fugu, to the pupils of the Qur’anic school, (almajari). “And because I am from the southern part of the country, I normally prepared southern dishes, which Yusuf had always come to eat. In fact he liked my egusi soup very much and we became very close when his father-in-law told him that I was the one who cooked the food. So anytime we met, he expressed delight and prayed that Almighty Allah would reward me, for he was eating from my pot and that was how I established a strong relationship with him. “Though I did not know where he lived at that time, but whenever I visited Fugu’s house, I saw many people trooping to the area and they would later gather behind a particular compound, so I asked Fugu who these people were. He replied that they were the followers of his son-in-law and that they had come for a preaching session conducted by the late Boko Haram leader. When they finished the preaching and were offering closing prayers, I would sometimes walk across to get the blessings of the prayers.” Wakil admits knowing some members of the sect saying, “I reside in Shehuri North Ward, the epicentre of the insurgency and I know majority of the insurgents, so I sat down and made up my mind, that how could I just watch them continue like that?” “When this thing was about to start in 2009, late Yusuf had been detained severally and when he came out after one of the detentions, I went to his house to greet him, but his followers refused to allow me access to him. I was angry and said I would never go to greet him again. “On hearing that, he rushed to his father-in-law and asked him to plead with me that I should forgive him, saying he was not around when I came. But three weeks to this problem, I started hearing rumours that they would launch deadly attacks. So, I called him (Yusuf) to my house and when he came, I learnt that Abubakar Shekau and other followers had escorted him, but they stayed outside. “When he entered my house, he didn’t even look directly at my face. He put his two hands behind him and I said to him, “my son, I’m hearing something. These rumours I’m hearing, I beg you in the name of Allah, don’t do it. He said that he was betrayed; I said by whom, he said by government, I said can I come into it, he said. Alright, if you can intervene and settle it, we are ready.’ “But I was unable to do so due to the protocol involved in government, especially when it entails meeting governors. I tried all I could to get to the former governor, Ali Modu Sheriff, to discuss the issue, but wasn’t able to get to him. But I later spoke to Yusuf’s in-law, telling him that I was not comfortable with these rumours I was hearing but he said there was nothing he could do, as he was a man of over 70 years and that he had written a letter to the government but he didn’t tell me precisely the content of the said letter. “I continued talking to Yusuf and he kept giving me instances of the betrayal as his followers were shot over the use of crash helmet for instance. Then when they carried their dead bodies for burial they shot them again despite the fact that there was an agreement between them, they were betrayed. “In fact he had seriously lamented this betrayal as I’m talking to you now I don’t know the betrayal he was referring to and nobody has told me about it up till now. And another issue is, I didn’t know the problem will degenerate into mayhem like we have seen, otherwise I would have contacted some of the elders in the state so that they can come into the matter with a view to finding a solution to it.” Read More Here:http://gidibest.com.ng/2016/08/wanted-dead-or-alive-meet-aisha-wakil-a-k-a-mama-boko-haram-photos/ |

The 39-year-old architect cum rapper said the problems in Nigeria is not about parties (APC, PDP). In a series of tweets on his Twitter handle @eLDeeTheDon, the ‘Wash Wash’ crooner said: “I did support PMB and if placed in same conditions as the time, I’d do so again. That he is not able to do what we expected is a diff story. “Clearly this is not about APC or PDP. All the members of both parties are from the same gang. Personal insult attempts wont change your fate. “I understand the frustrations. I see how this administration is not helping matters. It was a mistake to think these guys were the way fwd. “Interest rates are now through the roof so budding SMEs are further strangled by the system that ought to make life easier. “The blame game won’t solve the problems Naija is facing, more young people in tune with today’s challenges have to assume leadership roles. “Economic policies = 0 without a doubt. “Recycled gang of clueless rent-seeking opportunists. “We can’t fix this by waiting for the next set of options, we must create the next set of options by ensuring these options don’t resurface. “The middle class is the economic engine of every nation. Recovery begins with restoring their prosperity by enabling SMEs,” Eldee tweeted. Source: http://gidibest.com.ng/2016/08/huge-mistake-think-buhari-way-forward-eldee/ |
