Prior to “Empire” season 3 premiere, many fans were left baffled at the jaw-dropping and cliffhanging conclusion of the previous season. Cookie And Lucious Lyon’s Reconciliation In ‘Empire’ Season 3?

Based on the recently released “Empire” season 3 poster above, the cliffhanging finale in the previous season will not be the major focus of the series’ brand new season. According to TV Guide, the poster appeared to suggest that feuding exes Lucious and Cookie Lyon may have resolved their differences and have reconciled just in time to rule their empire together again in the upcoming season.

‘Empire’ Season 3 ‘Godfather’-Like Plot
Aside from the possibility of a reconciliation between Lucious and Cookie, “Empire” season 3 will also feature a “Godfather”-style creation of crime and hip-hop. “Empire” season 3 showrunner Ilene Chaiken also hinted about the return of Lucious’ demons in the upcoming season.

“We’re talking about season three as a Godfather-style opus of crime and hip-hop,” Chaiken said, as per The Hollywood Reporter. “It’s going to be wall-to-wall music, but also all of Lucious’ demons coming back to roost.”

“Empire” season 3 storylines may also include Lucious’ mother, who was not dead yet but was in a nursing home. There are also some flashbacks were fans will get a glimpse of Lucious and Cookie in their teenage years.

‘Empire’ Season 3 Episode 1 Title, Cookie’s Love Interest Revealed!

As “Empire” season 3 premiere looms, Fox has recently revealed the title for the show’s episode 1 – “Light in Darkness.” The title was reportedly in line on Chaiken’s description of the upcoming season in which she told TVLine that they’re setting up a “battle of dark vs. light.”

As for Cookie, there would reportedly be a possibility for a new love interest in “Empire” season 3. As reported by Ecumenical News, Cookie’s lover may be played by French Montana.
Montana will take the role of Vaughn in “Empire” season 3. He is reportedly appearing in the first episode of the series.

‘Empire’ Season 3 Guest Stars And Air Date
In addition to French Montana, other “Empire” season 2 guest stars include actress-singer Sierra McClain as Shine’s loyal acolyte Nessa, CarterMatt reveals. Music mogul Birdman is also set to make an appearance in “Empire” season 3, which is set to premiere on Sept. 21, Wednesday, at 9 p.m. on Fox.

Wizkid Denied Visa Into London , Misses Wireless Music Festival

No fewer than 11 persons have been killed by suspected cult members in Igode and Fakale communities in the Sagamu Local Government Area of Ogun State.

Four persons were also injured while houses and cars were vandalised in the attack that lasted for about 10 hours.
According to PUNCH Metro ,the hoodlums, said to be Aye Confraternity members, had gone on the rampage at about 11am on Wednesday to commemorate their anniversary tagged 7/7.

The grand finale of the anniversary was reportedly held on Thursday, July 7, 2016 at Emuren, a neighbouring community.

It was gathered that the hoodlums, numbering about 25 on motorcycles, came from Emuren, wielding guns and cutlasses.

Their targets were said to be members of the Eiye Confraternity, a rival cult.The bandits, who reportedly wore masks, shot dead three welders at a junction bordering Emuren and Igode.

The welders were said to be returning from a work site on a motorcycle.
The rampaging miscreants reportedly proceeded to the Fakale community, where they opened fire on a crowd watching a football match in a viewing centre, killing seven persons.

It was learnt that one of the deceased, identified simply as Dare, was a member of the Oodua People’s Congress.

Others were identified as Ibukun, Ismaila, Sunday, and a steel rod seller, Dare Olakanmi.
Three of them were said to have been buried.

However, the police had yet to remove the remains of the three welders as of 12pm on Thursday.

Four others, who were injured, were said to have been taken to a hospital in Sagamu.

The Coordinator of the OPC in the community, Wole Oladunjo, said,
“The fight was between Eiye and Aye confraternities. The Aye members are based in Emuren. The OPC had nothing to do with the fight. But surprisingly, they (Aye members) came here on Wednesday and started shooting sporadically. They killed seven persons in a viewing centre.

“One of the deceased was our member. The others killed were not Eiye members. They were hard working youths. Four persons are still in the hospital receiving treatment. The police picked four corpses and three of them have been buried.

“The policemen, who came that evening, were blaring their sirens from afar and this gave those boys the chance to escape.”

An OPC member, who identified himself as Ajibola Defence, told PUNCH Metro that the hoodlums inscribed 7/7 on those killed and on a refrigerator they destroyed inside a shop.

He said,
“We learnt the Aye members are celebrating their anniversary this month. They started on July 1 and today (Thursday) is the last day.

Whenever they celebrate the anniversary, they kill. They wrote 7/7 on the heads of the persons they killed.”
The Secretary of the OPC in the community, Idris Lawal, vowed that his members would avenge the killings, adding that the victims were innocent residents.

The Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Muyiwa Adejobi, confirmed the killings, saying that the cultists had gone to attack Eiye cult members at Fakale.

Following the continuous protest by workers of the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), authorities, on Thursday closed down the institution indefinitely, halting academic activities.

The school management made this known in a circular released from the Division of student Affairs (DSA) of the school.

It ordered students to vacate the campus immediately.

“All newly admitted students of the university presently going through orientation on campus are hereby ordered to vacate the school premises with immediate effect while resumption of the returning students have been postponed indefinitely”, the circular read.

“All final year students currently writing their projects on campus are to vacate the school premises till further notice.”

“All the students are expected to vacate the University premises by Thursday 23rd June 2016 by 12 noon.”

Although the university did not disclose the reason for the closure, workers in the university, under the aegis of Non-Academic Staff Union of Nigerian Universities (NASU) and Senior Staff Association of Nigeria Universities (SSANU), had in the past week intensified their protest over the non-payment of allowances.

The workers are also against the recent appointment of Professor Ayobami Taofeek Salami as the Vice Chancellor of the institution.
