Just look at this eyesore FFS.

Instead of that defender (Joromi) to move back a bit and shadow mark the free guy (there was another fvckn' defender in front of the other guy with the ball for crying out loud! ) whilst tracking them both, he rushed in like a hothead.

He found out moments late after the pass was made and lunged to tackle ("something a good defender should never do" SMH ) the receiver of the ball. The smart guy used his jersey number 17 to wipe the floor like a dirty toilet rag before slotting cooly into the back of the net.

That's the correct way to defend, according to someone who played GK in a monkey post setting.
