Now it's time u need people n they aren't there cos u have used your sharp mouth to chase them away.

Now u want people u insult everyday to vote u.

How will an igbo man campaign to a fulani man self?
How will u campaign to a muslim,even when u treat Muslims with disdain in your region.
A Muslim igbo died n u have to see useless comments by fellow igbos on Facebook just cos he's a Muslim.

See ehn u have a long way to go in redeeming your image if u want to rule.

Nobody will give power to a perceived enemy

One of the greatest accusations that most non-Igbo political watchers on Nairaland has accused Igbos of is the fact that they claim we denigrate politicians from other regions and shield ours from being so treated no matter how rotten he is.

So, my intention by this post is to clear this erroneous assumption and bring these people’s consciousness to what they already know.

If there are two Igbo politicians that Nigerians would possibly vote for comfortably, it would be Orji Uzor Kalu and Rochas Okorocha.

There reason? They are detribalized. So to them or to most of these people, being detribalized comes before capacity and antecedents.

But these two politicians find there greatest opposition at home, yes, Igbos don’t like them. And it is not because they are fraternizing with non-Igbos, far from it; if not we would have hated Ogbonnaya Onu too. Our hatred for these two politicians is purely informed by their record of stewardship whilst they served Abia and Imo states respectively.

8 years of OUK’s governance in Abia was a waste. Aba was left to stink to high heavens. No record of road construction or any legacy project that Abia people will remember OUK for.

Same story with Rochas. Rochas spent 8 years building statues, illegally acquiring people’s lands and building substandard projects in Imo. Almost all the roads constructed by Rochas are now impassable. The buildings he built have all had their roofs pulled out by the wind. Nobody remembers Rochas for anything good in Imo.

But those are the two politicians out of Igboland that appeal to Nigerians. And the reason is because “they are detribalized”.

To these people Peter Obi, with his impeccable record in Anambra must go to bow at Sokoto stool of Caliphate to prove himself.

Umahi with his giant strides in Ebonyi is a baby politician.

Ogbonnaya Onu with his record of integrity despite long record of public service and having been a friend of non-Igbos for so long, doesn’t cut it.

It is the thieves and buffoons from Igboland that appeals to them to suggest as president.

So, I’m writing this to warn the rest of Nigerians that we do not shield dirty politicians no matter where they come from. That Orji Uzor Kalu and Rochas Okorocha are not part of our choices as president in 2023, should the presidency be finally conceded to the southeast.

If you guys go ahead to choose either of these two fools because they “detribalized” like we know you would do, when they start to loot, display ineptitude and lack of competence, their action should never be used to judge Ndigbo because we are already telling the world we do not want them.

Good day, fellow nairalanders!

We have all witnessed the just concluded Anambra State governorship elections, in which Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), candidate was declared winner with a total vote casts of 112,229. In second position was PDP's Valentine Ozigbo, who polled 53,807 votes. Surprisingly in third position, we have APC's Andy Uba with a total vote of 43,285. And in fourth place was YPP's Ifeanyi Uba, with a total vote of 21,261.

In all of the results which I came across - both online and in the media - didn't see anywhere votes were cast for Dr Godwin Maduka, the candidate of the Accord Party. Now, what baffles me is that, during the buildup to the elections, one could put a gamble that Dr Maduka would be a real contender and a possible winner in the elections, going by his status as a technocrat, his philanthropic projects, and most importantly, his online popularity. Infact, I could boldly say he appeared to be the candidate who posed more threat to Soludo from realising his governorship dreams than any of the other candidate.

What the election has therefore taught me is that:

- PDP and APC are parties which are still a force to reckon with in Nigeria.

- A good candidate without the right political platform cannot make a headway.

- Prof. Soludo won the elections not because he was the most loved, or that he came across to be the best man for the job to most people, but because APGA is the traditional party in the State.

I will therefore encourage those who may be nursing any political ambition to make use of the right political platform to contest future elections. If Maduka had been the flagbearer of PDP or APC, I'm sure the outcome of the elections would not have been what it turned out to be.
