The country’s league organising body has put mechanism in place to name the Nigeria topflight highest goal scorer award after the fallen Super Eagles’ legend
Nigeria Professional Football League top scorer award will be named after legendary Rasheed Yekini, the League Management Company has hinted.

According Shehu Dikko, chairman of the league organising body, the move is to immortalize the fallen Super Eagles hero for his contribution to Nigeria football in his playing days.

Aside from this, plans are in place for an end-of-the-season award for the top division which to him will create commercial value and additional revenues.

“There is a broad plan to institute awards and honour outstanding players, officials, key stakeholders and fans in the league at the end of every season and there are a number of factors that led us to reach the decision to name one of these awards, that of the highest goal scorer after the late Rasheed Yekini,” said Dikko.

“The awards is part of strategic plans of the LMC to create commercial value and additional revenues out of the assets inherent in the league property.

"We considered the aspiration factor which seeks to let the players know that they too can become national heroes if they achieve excellence and make a success of their career.

“It says to them that they too can become legends of the game and the society will honour them as we have sought to honour the late Yekini,” he concluded.

Yekini played for UNTL Kaduna, Shooting Stars, Abiola Babes, Julius Berger and Gateway FC.

Street Hawking is something normal on the street of Lagos but today (July 8th, 2015) Lagos State Governor, Akinwumi Ambode has stopped/banned street hawking in the state (citing security reasons).

To think thousands of Lagosians(who cant afford a shop) survive by hawking on the streets and roads is enough reason for this not to happen. but i will also like to share my own personal experience I had with the Gala seller. Please continue reading....

Our Car broke down on the popular 3rd Mainland bridge, Feeling tired, I saw this 2 Gala sellers and i asked my friend to call him...

Gala seller opened his carton and brought out a GUN..... To cut the story short, we were robbed of almost everything from Phones, Laptops, Wallets, Shoes, and our suits. Thank God they didn't take the Car.
