EfemenaXY:

True that.

That's why I don't get why you're sending an open invite to complete strangers on the Internet. A simple announcement on here would have been enough and people would still wish you well irrespective of whether they know you or not. But when you take it a step further by giving out the venue and expecting them to travel from goodness knows how far? Nah. It doesn't add up.

What am I missing?

I don't see what's funny about it. You can't invite people to your party and not expect them not to want something to eat and drink. Especially during this recession. And your comment on "if it's too much...", you mean you'll expect them to spend money on transportation and leave empty handed? And to think you'll actually lie to them about the caterer stuck in traffic?

Smh undecided

Your friends, families, and neighbours from both sides should be more than enough for this don't you think? What value would strangers add to your D-day?

Again I think there is something you aren't saying here.

I'm very old school. I don't attend parties without a granny's bag to pack samples of the food, drinks, and cakes for all the kids in my neighbourhood.

Can you guarantee that if I spend money on transportation to your event, I'll get something tangible, in return?

Wow...ok tangible food and drink have been put in place. Recession not withstanding. God who turned water to wine, and fed 5000 with few loaves and fishes is doing it all over!!!
So you got full guarantee!

EfemenaXY:
@ op, I'm curious.

How do these online invitations work? If say a thousand people respond to this by turning up at your wedding reception after reading your online invite, how will you cater for them all (food and refreshments)?

Hehehe, peeps who really care will come to cheer us up & celebrate love with us.
If ee too much, I scrap item 7 (refreshment) comot for menu. Then explain to them how the caterer got stuck in traffic grin grin grin
Well, its not about the food and drink...its about the dance and clap. DJ music fit reach, no matter the crowd!
so, U coming?

Religion / Pope Francis Visits Ex-prostitutes (including 7 Nigerians) by dimsonu(m): 9:21am On Aug 14, 2016
Pope Francis has surprised 20 former prostitutes by popping in for a visit at their safe house in Rome.

The women had been rescued from their pimps and are being given shelter and protection at an apartment run by a Catholic charity in Italy's capital.

The pontiff chatted to the women, some trafficked from Africa and elsewhere in Europe, for more than an hour.
The 79-year-old cleric has repeatedly described human trafficking as a "crime against humanity".

The Pope sat down with the women, including seven Nigerians, six Romanians and four Albanians, and listened to their stories of forced prostitution, the Vatican said.

The other three in the group came from Italy, Tunisia and the Ukraine.

The Pope chatted to the 20 women from six countries for more than an hour
They were all aged about 30 and had "suffered serious physical abuse" and now lived under protection, the Vatican said.
Promising women jobs, traffickers bring them to Italy and other western European countries but then force them into prostitution.
Pope Francis encouraged the former sex workers "to be strong" as they started their new lives with the help of the Pope John XXIII Community.

The unannounced visit to the prostitutes came under what the Vatican terms the Pope's "Fridays of Mercy", focusing on communities that have experienced suffering.

Romance / Our Chat 7 Years Ago On Facebook, We Got Married Last Week by dimsonu(m): 5:31pm On Aug 09, 2016
In a Facebook memory my wife stumbled into my comment on her post 7 years before we got married.

Almost exactly 7 years later we got married.

She wrote:

Was asking randomly, "work to become irreplaceable in my life"

I was just her casual friend, no strings attached. (Although I always admired her shaa)

My reply was prophetic, because truly it was magical.

Let the profile pictures not confuse you, we are both using our marriage picture presently. So it loOks same

Moral of the story: Love is unpredictable!

Val: hehehehe you are not serious

Me: I am.

Val: so how do we do it, the date is a Monday?

Me: let's make the necessary calls. It should be low-key.

That was how it started.
But in the end, it wasn't a low-key marriage after all.

but President Buhari
is simply so good, nice, friendly and
accommodating than I expected considering all
the evil propaganda the PDP sponsored about
Him during the presidential campaigns.
I am sure none of the 2015 presidential hopefuls
would have been this nice on various suspecting
issues.
Hate Buhari if you like but obviously it seems the

Religion / Fr. Mbaka Proclaim Strong Support For Buhari by dimsonu(m): 7:29pm On May 15, 2016
In his Pentecost Sunday message today...

"Father Ejike Mbaka clearly stated that the beginning of Muhammadu Buhari’s Government will be difficult. And there will be suffering and crisis but the end it will be joyous and great.
Below is what Mbaka Said. “Listen fellow Nigerians, as it is right now, most of what we are suffering now and we are going to suffer were caused few years ago but the Lord asked me to encourage you. Suffering is coming but it is not suffering under damnation, there is solution,
it may take some time, but at the end of it, there will be testimonies”
“As I have told you, there is going to be crisis but God will handle it. This year, God said my people will be over-comers, things will be hard but my people will be over-comers”.
He said that "Nigerians should have faith,
that his vision was clear as daylight,
that this not the time to be filled with wrath stating that the tempest will pass"
