A 9-year-old girl was reportedly raped by a man living with her parents, who they feed him and gave shelter in their home in Zaria.

Instagram user, Jamila Abdullahi Yunusa, who spoke with the rape victim wrote;

"Inna liLlahi Wa Inna Ilaihi Raajiun. She was raped by a guy that lives with her parents, they feed him, and gave him shelter in their home.
And of all the favours done by the parents, he paid them by raping their daughter.
When I asked the little girl, she said 'he threatened me with a knife and said he's going to kill me'. The guy was arrested immediately.

Now, the relatives of the guy just came to the hospital and they're begging the mother to let it go, forgive and forget. And they also informed her that if she doesn't want to let it go, they know their ways, and they'll make sure the guy is released. (They're threatening the mother)

I'm calling on the government and other NGOs to please do something about it.
They live in Chikaji Zaria. Presently admitted in St Lukes Anglican Hospital, Wusasa, Zaria."

To mark the third year of her death anniversary, Nigerians led by the Minister of Health Isaac Adewole have taken to social media to pay tributes to Dr. Stella Adadevoh who died after she contracted the deadly Ebola disease while trying to curb its spread in Nigeria.

Dr. Stella who tested positive for Ebola virus disease, but died while being treated on August 19th, is remembered for placing the patient zero, Patrick Sawyer in quarantine despite pressures from the Liberian government. Here are tweets below;

The Imo State Police Command has arrested a 200-level student of the Faculty of Science, University of Port-harcourt, Rivers State, identified as Ifeanyi Dike, for allegedly killing a 7-year-old girl named Victory Chikamso.

The suspect who was nabbed while trying to dump the beheaded girl, was said to have invited Chikamso into his room, killed and collected the part he needed, while the girl's parents were looked for her yesterday.

Ifeanyi was nabbed by Sanitation officers at the refuse dump he went to, who searched him only to discover a dead body butchered. They raise alarm and behold it was that of missing Chikamso. He has since been handed over to the policemen from Okporo police station where he pleaded guilty to the offence, but refused giving name of man he contracted for the ritual.

A Zambian boy has gone completely nuts after he challenged his area chief that he could spend 10 cold nights sleeping in a graveyard.

The young man named James Chileshe aka Jumbo boy reportedly challenged Chief Mukkuni three weeks ago after the chief announced that he did not fear prison as he had slept for 7 days in a graveyard.

Due to poverty and seeking for cheap fame, Jumbo boy opted to challenge the senior chief by promising to spend 10 days in a graveyard.

The chief accepted his challenge, and off the daring village boy went to lie flat on top of a grave.

However, hell broke loose on day four of the challenge when Jumbo boy suddenly broke into prolonged raucous laughter, stripped himself totally naked in broad daylight, and started dancing, singing and running helter–skelter.

One of his concerned uncles, Michael Chileshe said:

“James managed to spend only four days at the graveyard out of the 10 he had promised chief, then started singing and dancing. He claimed that he could hear sweet melodies.

Mr Chileshe further explained that after singing and dancing to himself, his nephew removed all his clothes and started running in broad day light and has never been seen for 6 days now.

His family has reportedly alerted the cops, who have since launched investigation into the strange incident.

Chief Mukkuni is, however, yet to publicly comment on the weighty matter.

Recall that their separation in 2010 caused controversies in Nollywood, and it got worse when Daniel began dating actress, Stella Damasus who had two daughters with her husband Jaiye Aboderin before his death in 2004.

Daniel shared the above photo with his wife Stella Damasus and gushed over her as he revealed she helped him heal when he was abused and violated mentally. He wrote;

In the space of a month, at least four Nollywood actors have died, the most recent being Moji Olaiya.

Ace actor and film maker, Muyiwa Ademola, had a chat with Ademola Olonilua of Punch over the sad losses and he revealed the leading cause of death among actors.

According to him, most of these deaths are caused by accumulated stress and could be avoided if one takes care of the body.
He said,

“A very big problem we have in our industry is that we work round the clock, we spend nights at movie locations but we don’t go for medical check-up.

I have a doctor and I go for medical check-up every three weeks. I know when to take some days off work. For instance, if I work for about two weeks, I take a few days off to relax. I would just eat and rest.

I also make sure I go on vacations and all I do in those times is just to eat and sleep. Most of the deaths in the movie industry are a result of accumulated stress without paying attention to one’s health.”

Nollywood actress, Stephanie Okereke-Linus has finally reacted to allegations that she has a copyright infringement case to answer over her much-acclaimed movie 'DRY'.

Daniella Madudu had alleged that an associate of Stephanie Okereke-Linus, Joy Ndidi, stole and made a copy of her story and gave to Stephanie which she used as a script for the movie. Joy Ndidi in an earlier statement refuted that claim which Stephanie has now reacted to.

On the 19TH of May, 2017, I received a letter from one Rafiu Bello acting on behalf of one Daniella Madudu accusing me of appropriation of an “original literary work” that was allegedly stolen from her by Ms. Joy Ndidi (an allegation that has been roundly refuted), copyright infringement and all manner of impropriety as relates my movie ‘DRY’ and demanding that I credit this Daniella Madudu with ownership of my work, pay the sum of N60,000,000 (SIXTY MILLION NAIRA) and royalties; or face a “campaign of calumny”(which by the way is already afoot) both home and abroad.

Naturally, my initial reaction was to ignore it as something so ludicrous as to be able to find firm footing in the mind of any normal or rightly thinking individual and only routinely passed it onto my lawyers at a later date and thought nothing more of it.

They (my lawyers), as a matter of course responded to it.

That these persons have since gone ahead with their premeditated plan to defame me upon allegations they know to be baseless, spurious and glaringly untrue is no longer news as the media is presently awash with the ‘fruit of their labour’ and ordinarily I would not have dignified it with a response but for the sake of posterity and lest my silence be termed an admission of any wrongdoing whatsoever, I will simply proceed to state the facts here, viz:

That since my undergraduate days at the University of Calabar, I have been very passionate and deeply concerned about Vesico Vaginal Fistula (VVF), the plight of the girl-child and sexual violence against the female gender.
That in 2006 whilst still on crutches as a result of my ghastly automobile accident from the year before, I volunteered with the Mercy Ships Aberdeen West Africa Fistula Centre (as it then was) in Sierra Leone all out of my own personal savings as this was and will always be a cause very dear to my heart.
That in 2007/08 I visited the Mariam Abacha Women and Children’s Hospital, Sokoto where I personally made donations to the victims of VVF.
That in 2008 I was invited by The United Nations and the Government of Liberia to participate in the anti-rape campaign, Stop Rape and the Liberia Fistula Project.
That through my non-governmental organisation, The Extended Hands Foundation and our numerous partners, over 150 women and young ladies across the country have successfully undergone reconstructive surgery and have gone on to live wholesome fulfilling lives free of the stigmatization and the sheer pain and discomfort that comes with VVF.
That I registered the script for my movie ‘DRY’ with The United States Copyright Office on November 28TH, 2011.
That I registered the script for my movie ‘DRY’ with The Nigerian Copyright Commission on July 27TH, 2012.
That my movie ‘DRY’ was shot in the months of August and September, 2012 in Nigeria.
That the unofficial trailer for ‘DRY’ was released to lend my voice in support of the ‘Child Not Bride’ campaign.
That Ms. Joy Ndidi’s first ever contact with me was in 2013 (DRY was already a finished project at this time) and it was not until June 2013 that she was officially engaged to provide content and ad-placement for my personal blog, ‘The Stephanie Daily’ for all of six (6) months and this she did from the comfort of her home.
That the so called “original literary work” of the Daniella Madudu, I was supposed to have appropriated in my movie has never been registered at The Nigerian Copyright Commission even as we speak.
These are easily verifiable facts that any half-hearted attempt at investigative and responsible journalism would have turned up if indeed uncovering the truth for the benefit of the public was the primary motive behind the malicious publication.
It is truly a sorry pass we have come to as society when all it takes to ruin a person’s reputation overnight is the spewing forth of mere accusations just because he or she happens to be in the public eye.
I choose to speak out and address this vice that has suddenly become the norm in our society and the acceptable standard of modern day “journalism”. We used to be better than this as a people; my prayer is that we still are.

DRY is more than just a movie; it is a righteous cause for voiceless women and young girls who have suffered the most debilitating kind of emotional and physical abuse, and anyone who seeks to denigrate this painful sacrifice with a smear campaign, with the intent to make gain or attract cheap publicity, simply lacks wisdom.

I want to take this opportunity to thank all those that have shown tremendous support and spoken up these past few days to end these words the same way it began.

A four-man armed robbery gang on February 22, 2017, stormed and attacked a Zenith Bank Owerri branch - Wetheral road Owerri, Imo state capital.

An attack that left three police men and five bank customers injured and one of the armed robbers dead.

Nigeria police have since arrested the robbers.

The CCTV you are about to watch had captured the suspected robbers' ring leader Justice Ogbonna, aka, JJ, and his gang arrive the bank during the attack on the said day in February.

They had trailed a bank customer to the Zenith bank branch on Wetheral Road, Owerri, the state capital.

In the video, you will see them shoot indiscriminately as they stormed the bank, attacked the customer and carted away the money which the victim wanted to deposit in the bank.

They reportedly shot the customer dead.

You will also see a brave plain-clothes MOPOL officer attached to the bank shoot dead one of the armed robbers whom the rest abandoned as they made their getaway.

The plain-clothes MOPOL officer reportedly survived.

After six weeks of investigation, ring leader – Justice Ogbenna, aka JJ, and getaway driver Okechukwu Onwuamaegbu– were arrested in Aba, Abia State by operatives of the Imo State Police Command during activities to mark JJ's father's burial.

A copy of the Complaint/Arrest Affidavit for Nigerian pop singer Dammy Krane and his co-defendant Chukwuebuka Gabriel Ilonchowu (“Ebuka”), an alleged U.S. promoter who allegedly hired Krane’s services to perform in the United States has been obtained and made public by media company AfricanMusicLaw.com.

To summarize the allegations against Dammy Krane and Chukwuebuka Gabriel Ilonchowu, the duo purchased two private charter flight tickets with fraudulent credit cards to travel from Miami to Washington D.C.

Dammy Krane who was set for a Nebbia Hearing yesterday appeared in court and was denied a release on bail. He is set to be arraigned on June 23rd, 2017.

Dammy Krane's criminal complaint /Arest Affidavit explains the details of how and why the two were arrested for the alleged crimes of grand theft, credit card, and identity fraud, among other charges.

It states that Krane and Ebuka purchased two private charter flight tickets with fraudulent credit cards to travel from Miami to Washington D.C.

The CEO of the company they purchased the tickets from, Eugene Kesselman of Tap Jets Inc., was suspicious of them and contacted the police who arrived and waited for them at the airport.

When the duo subsequently arrived at the airport, the police detained them and subsequently took them into custody, after an investigation.

The police say they were able to identify the duo by their legal names. Dammy Krane had his passport along with several credit cards in the front of his pant pocket. Three of the credit cards were in Krane’s name but four were in the name of a William Payton III.

The duo each had a book bag and a suitcase. When the officer searched those, legitimately per the officer’s claim, they found several cell phones and laptops in the bags of the duo.

The two were read their Miranda rights after the police established there was probable cause to arrest them. The police asked if they wished to speak with an attorney. They allegedly declined by waiving their rights to counsel.

By the way, the police say in the complaint that Kesselman’s employee Stephanie Rodriguez claims that she received a call from Dammy Krane who wanted to know when his jet flight would arrive, and also whether there were issues with the credit card on file for him.

The police claim that even though she knew that there was an issue, she did not want to alarm him. So she told him there was no issue. Nevertheless, he mentioned there were other card numbers he could give her to ensure there was no issue.

As it stands, both co-defendants are still in custody and have been denied bail.

Dammy Krane who was set for a Nebbia Hearing today appeared in court and was denied a release on bail. He is set to be arraigned on June 23rd, 2017.

The District Attorney is also allegedly considering adding more charges against Dammy Krane.

Krane’s co-defendant, Ebuka, has a prior history of grand theft, and fraud crimes.

It will be recalled that the Executive Governor had on Friday the 7th April, 2017 called on all Plateau Citizens to stand in solidarity with Efe by voting and mobilizing others to vote for the home grown Actor, who was at the verge of joining the team of successful Plateau Citizens who have won the TV Reality event in the past.

The Executive Governor is also using the opportunity of the Victory of Efe to call on all citizens of Plateau State, to ensure that the value they place on the common humanity of her citizens in a multi cultural and cosmopolitan setting, is always seen in the unity of purpose exhibited by all in the collective pursuit of a common goal. The Governor added that though Efe is by ethnic extraction from Delta State, Plateau is proud to lay claim to his entire life’s orientation having been groomed for excellence in life with the values that distinguish the Plateau person.

The Executive Governor in his commendation assured the people of Plateau and Delta States, that the success of Efe will provide the additional platform for the consolidation of the relationship between the people of the two States, which had existed right from the early Tin Mining days of the twentieth century.

The Governor has further confirmed that he will be receiving Efe as the newest Ambassador of the State in the entertainment and creative industry on his arrival from South Africa soon.
