Glory be to God

Let us give God all the glory. He is the Almighty, the Creator of the universe, the Owner of our lives. God owns all power. He is above all things. He is the GOD who is above all other gods. He is the God of the Israelites. He is the God above all. All other gods bow to Him. Dagon, the god of the Philistines fell down flat with face down before the ark of covenant which carried the presence of God. Dagon worshippers eventually gave glory to God. The worshippers of Baal were disappointed when their god failed to bring down fire. Elijah, the prophet of God called upon Him and God answered with fire from heaven. God is superior to the gods of the Egyptians. The God of Israel is far above the gods of the Babylonians. . God is above all things. He is above every situation. He is above all problems. The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Jesus says "Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine? There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger". God is awesome. He is glorious. He is the Greatest. There is none like Him. Let us surrender all to Him. Let us give Him all the glory. It shall be well with us and our lives will be beautified by His glory.

1 And the Philistines took the ark of God, and brought it from Ebenezer unto Ashdod.

God is good! God is awesome! Glory be to God!

Of all the amazing attributes of God, His goodness -- His lovingkindness, His providence, His mercifulness--in a most profound way, endears the heart of man and resounds to him the beautiful nature of the Almighty.

What does "good" mean? According to the dictionary "good" means "having desirable qualities". In philosophy, the "good" is what gives truth to the things known and the power of knowing to the knower. Consequently, the concept of "highest good" has been ascribed to God. This means, only God, the supreme being, has the perfection of goodness. The goodness of God is universally acclaimed. All tribes, from ages past, have always declared the goodness of the Creator when they see the beauty and perfection of the working of nature--the daily rise and fall of the sun, the outpouring of rain, the majestic view of the mountains and lush vegetation of the valleys. They have concluded that the Creator behind nature and all things must be awesome! Yes, God is awesome! God is good! God is amazing! God is wonderful! God is excellent!

The Bible tells us that God is good is so many verses. In fact, the Bible describes the nature of God in vivid and impressive ways. God is loving and kind. His love for us is unfailing. He is omnipotent--all power belongs to Him. He is Omnipresent--He is everywhere at all times. He is Omniscient--He knows all things. He is eternal--He is beyond time, that is, God exists forever and ever without end. He is all-powerful, all-present and all-knowing. He is infinite--there is no limit to His greatness. How amazing to have an all-powerful, all-present and all-knowing God who is good! Yes, this means our Creator, who is in absolute control of the universe is ever loving, good and kind to us all. We are His children. He has never failed in providing our daily needs. He has been our help in the past. He is our assurance for the present. And He has secured our future.

Our God is good. Let us put God first. Let us surrender all to Him. Let us place Him above all things. He knows all our needs. He is indeed good. He will make all things perfect and we will enjoy a beautiful life. Again and again, God is good! God is good!! God is good!!!

God is good. Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour, the Son of God, says "Only God is good". We see this in Mark 10:18 when Jesus responded to someone who called him "Good Master". Jesus responded "And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God."

David, the psalmist, writes in Psalm 34:8 "O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him"

We see that God is good in other notable verses of the Bible:

The Lord is good to all: and his tender mercies are over all his works. Psalm 145: 9

O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever. 1 Chronicles 16: 34

And the Lord passed by before him, and proclaimed, The Lord, The Lord God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth Exodus 34:6

The Lord is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him. Nahum 1:7

Everyday when you wake up and anytime you can, say "Thank You LORD". Praise Him. Thank Him. Worship Him. Just be grateful to God for all He has done, all He is doing, and all He will do. And guess what? He will bless you more.

Remember the story of Jesus and the ten lepers. Ten were healed but only one came back to show gratitude to God. This one got wholesomeness while others got only healing. Wholesomeness of health is better than just healing from a particular disease.
