Naaa... the president of russia will speak russian and have an interpreter... likewise the chinese, japanese, french or German chancellor.

The difference is that Buhari would be speaking english without an interpreter, and I can assure you it will be hell for foreign audience (even local audience) to grab what he's saying. It only took me until just recently to start understanding GMB's speeches.

Wait until you.get a chronic stammerer as a president...you go fear speech.

I get your point though.

He who pays the piper determines the tune.

In most cases, family members do curry favours from diasporans.

Sometimes due to limited exposure, the ones in Nigeria think abnormalities are the norm. For example, even though GEJ is a total failure, some Nigerians were still shouting "GEJ till 2019". How else can you cure such madness than getting the diasporans involved?

Did you hear any of the news outlets you mentioned use Patience's barrenness as a campaign news?. But AIT against all modicum of fairness was singing the death of GMB's wife and daughter as a national anthem.

First they will bar or ban a News outlet ----payback time you will advance
Next they will force female reporters to cover their heads ---- president is of certain religious affliation you demur
Next they will force male reporters to grow long beards --- Presidents relgion has to be respected you argue
Next they will withhold states allocation on the premise of not allowing head scarfs in schools--- religious equality you advance.
Next they will withhold states allocation that prayers are not said in schools -- we are religious people you postulate
Next they will flog girls wearing pants and mini skirt --morality you will claim
Next they will jail men wearing jeans ---ditto morality
Next they will ban movies - morality they will employ
Next they will ban books except certain ones ---- you will question the need for books anyway.
Next they they will banish women from public spaces ---- you applude more controll for me
Then they will come for you.

It is never early to fight for your freedom. Compare Afghanistan before the 70s and now. Its because they never knew what freedom was until they lost it.

It is AIT today and what about you next week, next month or next year.....
Be afraid and really afraid

When you place no value on yourselves, don't expect others to do otherwise.

It is so bad that even conceding a lost election is considered a heroic and superhuman act in Africa because by definition, Africans are supposed to be savages who know no better.

What could be more psychologically demeaning than that? And a bunch of negroes are clapping in affirmation.

Lol. I believe the judge would take into consideration any lack of prior criminal record, and the prevailing circumstances, when he/she would deliver the sentence. So life imprisonment without the possibility of parole would be the most likely punishment, in my view.

The only saving grace for this woman is that she did not commit the murder in Texas. In murder cases, those cowboys prosecutors in Texas shoot first and ask questions later.

2nd River Niger bridge is GEJ's sin that cannot be forgiven. Even the Niger Delta that's been crying "marginalization" since cannot point to one tangible thing they collectively benefited from GEJ. Their road network is in shambles except Ahoada/Elele axis.

GEJ's six years sojourn in Aso Rock was for his personal interests only.

Why people condone so much nonsense in Nigeria baffles me? Apostle Sulaiman misfired numerous times and folks are still giving him audience.

By the way, there is a new government in town.

If GMB does well, people will live better. If he underperforms, the suffering of the masses will multiply in folds.

Instead of rooting for his failure which will adversely affect your lives, you should be praying for divine guidance for him.

Partisan politics aside, all of you will bear the brunt. You must accept the things you cannot change. In this case, GMB is your president till 2019. It is self-hate to wish bad luck on someone whose actions can bring bad luck to your lives.

A parcel that will eventually be opened deserves no nibbling. Let GMB get in first and we shall see what he has to offer instead of all these useless and childish predictions.

OBJ was equally as bad, if not worse than GEJ.

GEJ's biggest problem was lack of the ability to take a decision on issues of National importance.

He spend most of his tenure wishing problems away instead of tackling them.

Who does that?

Politics / Re: Dr. Ariyo Responds To Accusation Of Igbo Xenophobic Comment by DInvertedHammer: 8:40pm On Apr 24, 2015
babyosisi:
When ever you get an eediot on the defensive
It's always a good thing
/
Don't mind all the chest-beating by people who have nothing to lose.

The purpose of the publicity of his xenophobic attack aimed at the Igbo people have been achieved.

Dr. Ariyo is now a sitting duck and has been silenced forever on issues of importance both at work and politics.

People do not understand why prosecutors interview acquaintances, colleagues, others in court cases. It helps them
build the character of the defendant. People who will benefit to this brouhaha are Dr. Ariyo's professional competitors,
patients (very litigious in USA, if I may add), his wife (in case he wants to file for divorce) and others too numerous to count.

It is not necessary to discuss issues of this importance on NL which is more of a platform for comic relief. I went into the listserv where
who-is-who of Nigeria that lives in USA/Canada are subscribed. Everyone there Yoruba/Igbo/Edo had their daggers drawn aimed at Dr.Ariyo
for the stupid comments.

Some may think that it does not matter. But I will take you down a memory lane:

Ambassador Adefuye (Nigerian Ambassador to Washington) ran to Nigeria in 2014 when the letter he wrote to Mrs. Waziri (EFCC Chairperson) was leaked. Mrs. Warida lost her position because of that saga. When Prof. Aluko (Current VC of Fed. University, Otuoke) thought he was
a xenophobic juggernaut, we went for him and the wife filed for a divorce. He stood to lose a lot, he had to send unreserved apology after the
details of the divorce and his medications were sent to the listserv. And the Yoruba doctor that took it to higher level under the goading of Aluko was sued by Emeka Ugwuonye (the Havard-trained lawyer that was representing Nigeria Embassy Washington) and a lien was put on his property and other things he worked for in USA for years to offset the judgment against him. The doctor's life was never the same. He died of stroke and heart attack. And where was Prof. Aluko to save his friend? Luckily, he took that VC position at Otuoke to salvage his life. I can go on and on about many Nigerians that have lost jobs at reputable companies like Boeing, Northrop Grumman, etc. for stupid statements that they make online. First thing first, a lot of Nigerians can be very envious for successful peers. Why a sane being will arm those fellows with stupid (xenophobic) comments to mess up his/her life amazes me. Some people in Nigeria do not even know that hiring companies scope the internet to check on potential employees. And after hiring them, they still snoop on them. But a third world country like Nigeria will know nothing of such. Yes! Stupid comments can ruin people's lives here in USA. But the knuckleheads that don't know their left from their right will come here and spew rubbish.

Is Dr. Ariyo going to lose his license over this? No! But he has put himself in a very precarious situation. You can log on to medical doctor's review online and see the kind of reviews he is getting. People are not smiling. Someone mentioned hiring an IT guy to clean it up. Well, that fellow should demand a full refund from whoever taught him IT. The only information hidden online is the one on your mind that is not typed and sent over the internet. All that is needed is a court subpoena and bingo! Some people are just learners.

I will continue to follow this issue till we extract the punishment that Dr.Ariyo deserves. It is a case of killing a fly with a hammer to ensure that it is dead and perhaps serve as deterrent to others. If you live in Nigeria, feel free to say whatever. But if you live here and have a lot to lose,
political correctness in all statements must be followed to avoid stories that touch the heart.

And the moderator that banned me, goodluck!

If Patience wants to test her popularity, she should start calling her friends one after the other and see who answers.

Like I stated in my post before the election, "if GMB wins, the rate of switch of allegiance will be unprecedented."

Dangote and Otedola no even let Jega announce result finish, they jumped ship.

Fayose sends out congratulatory message...hahaha

And even Asari Dokubo is preaching peace.

Politically, Nigerians are very predictable and I don't have a Magic 8 ball.
