The opposite is the case. And that is that giving Nigeria to Buhari's APC next election implies that this is the last Christmas in freedom for Nigerians. Buhari's was the worst brutal dictatorship ever in Nigeria's history. Buharinomics then was giving import licenses to friends and goons - no body could do business with foreign countries except import licence approval by Buhari people. Thus, too many good Nigerian businesses owned by honest people crumbled under Buhari regime. Under Buhari regime, Nigerians would queue for hours for essential commodities like milk, sugar, tomatoes. etc. being rationed by soldiers flogging them with bulalas. Under Buhari, citizens were executed with retroactive laws. Buhari was the head at large when sickly Abacha was leader. That regime was the most corrupt ever in Nigeria and Africa. Buhari watched or participated, but refused to stop the corruption then. The regime's stolen money stored in many foreign countries made headlines all over the world when Abacha died. Buhari has since taken part in three most expensive presidential election results. Does he print Naira? Buhari did not provide for Nigerian youths to succeed him in leading Nigeria, that's why in his 70s, Buhari is still itching to lead Nigeria. When shall the youths lead? Buhari has not changed from his dictatorial characters; since he left office, he is not known to have gone through any modern school to improve his democratic credentials. |
experimentist:You suffer religious intolerance, just like Buhari suffers intolerance of other religions outside Islam. Look at history: 1, Year 2000, the leaders of 12 northern states adopted use of extreme sharia laws like cutting the hands of petty thieves, stoning women to death for adultery, etc., to administer their states. 2, Year 2001, Buhari charged Muslims to ensure that extreme sharia laws are implemented all over the 36 states of Nigeria. 3, Shortly after that, Boko Haram was formed in the northeast. 4, Year 2009, Boko Haram openly became most aggressive and stated that it is fighting for a country in Nigeria administered with extreme sharia laws. 5, Shortly after, Buhari declared that Boko Haram was fighting for justice and requested that they be given amnesty - and possible pay offs. |
Buhari merely went to military schools in Nigeria and abroad to learn the profession of soldiering - mostly killing humans. That does not make Buhari an educated. Send a person to New York or Oxford to learn a trade or profession. When the persons finishes the course, that does not make hthe person an educated fellow. There is a a lot of education to pass through from primary to secondary to university levels before someone is tagged an educated person. Buhari did not pass through those levels. |
Just remember the era of Buhari military regime, when everything in Nigeria including sugar, milk, tomatoes, were being rationed by soldiers to civilians, and before you got a tin of milk after queueing nearly whole day, soldiers must have used "bullala" to flog the hell out of you several times. THOSE BUHARI DAYS, YOU DARED NOT CRITICIZE BUHARI. HOUSEHOLDS OUT OF FEAR OF THE REGIME WERE FORCED TO HANG NIGERIAN FLAG ON TOP OF THEIR HOUSES. It was a total dictatorial regime. Buhari has not changed. Buhari is dyed in dictatorship and intolerance, and he is very ignorant of the workings of a country's economy.. It is only a most silly fellow, a religionist or purely bigoted hater of Jonathan who can want Buhari as President of Nigeria in the 21st century. |
If Buhari were in Jonathan's shoes, Buhari will never congratulate Jonathan. In fact, Buhari would have placed Jonathan in prison. |
Nigeria army fought well-equipped and well-organized Biafra of several battalions, so what there is supposed to be no big deal for Nigerian army to defeat tiny and less-equipped Boko Haram members. Issue is that there are as many saboteurs for Boko Haram as there are fighters against Boko Haram. Boko Haram says it is fighting for use of primitive sharia laws to govern Nigeria. Too many Nigerian Muslims are in favour of use of sharia laws to govern Nigeria, hence some fight Boko Haram indeed, others sabotage the fight against Boko Haram. This soldier writing this letter is on political propaganda to demonize President Jonathan. The soldier is in another version of sabotage of the fight against Boko Haram. |
The rumour is that Yoruba nation has devised an effective method to cage power-hungry born to rule who ruled Nigeria for donkey years but still makes Nigeria ungovernable for any leader not from the born to rule clan. At every election year, Yoruba nation endorses the most visible of born to rules as presidential candidate of any party with deep roots in Yorubaland and claps for him. But during the voting day proper, Yoruba nation abandons the born to rule candidate to enable free and fair competition, since born to rule restructured Nigeria by military fiat and arrogated itself too many states and voting power.. It happened to Atiku, happened to Ribadu. Buhari may get a worst treatment in next election. The Buharis are paying for their sins of maltreating MKO Abiola, sacking of Ernest Shonekan and near impeachment of OBJ. |
docadams:Oya, Buhari propagandist, dispute these: 1, Nigeria: Abacha Never Stole, Say Buhari, Babangida This Day (Lagos) 9 JUNE 2008 By Ibrahim Shuaibu Kano — The late military Head of State, Gen. Sani Abacha, did not loot the national treasury contrary to the general impression, two military former heads of state have said. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, who ruled Nigeria between 1983 and 1985, and his successor, Gen. Ibrahim Babangida, gave Abacha the clean bill in Kano yesterday after the rememberance prayers marking 10 years of the death of Abacha, who ruled between 1993 and 1998. http://allafrica.com/stories/200806090008.html NB: Remember that Abacha's loot made international headlines and the regime known worldwide as the most corrupt so far in Africa. Buhari was the de-facto Head-of-State for Abacha regime as ever sick Abacha was a mere figure head then. 2, allAfrica.com: Nigeria: Buhari Calls for Sharia in All States By Saxone Akhaine Kaduna — Former Head of State, Gen. Mohammadu Buhari at the weekend, tookstock of Sharia implementation in some northern states and concludedthat the Islamic legal system has restored sanity in the affectedstates. Buhari, who only recently attracted much criticisms over an allegedstatement to the effect that Moslems in the country should vote foronly fellow Moslems in future elections, pledged to commit himself tothe full implementation of the law in Nigeria. He also asserted that even critics, the Federal government inclusiveis satisfied with the level of internal security in Zamfara State, where the legal code is in full swing. For the Moslems, the ertswhile ruler stated that the introduction ofSharia has united and enabled them to regain what they lost to thecolonialists and other external forces . To avoid friction with non-Moslems however, Buhari advocated anenlightenment campaign through persuasion to assist them grasp theworkings of Sharia. The former head of state who was the special guest of honour at thefirst yearly National Convention of the Supreme Council for Sharia inNigeria (SCSN), held at the Arewa House, Kaduna, urged Moslems to bebold in their efforts to ensure that the Islamic jurisprudence isrooted in all the 36 states of the federation. "For Moslems in Nigeria as I mentioned at other, occasions, at leasttwice, we were overrun by the colonialists and our way of life wasdrastically changed... And one of the things we lost for beingoverrun by the colonialists is for us to be denied the freedom topractice our religion as it is or as it was and as it has alwaysbeen. But, God in his infinite mercy brought this independence backto us through a democratic system of government." Buhari further said that "what remains for Moslems in Nigeria is forthem to redouble the necessary education," stressing that they shouldeducate Moslems on the need to promote the full implementation ofSharia in the country; "and there is nothing to be afraid of." "It is a legal responsibility God has given us within the context ofone Nigeria to continue to uphold the practice of Shariawholeheartedly... and to educate non-Moslems that they have nothingto fear, because the biggest fear of Nigerians are three insecuritiesthat I identified a very long time ago." Buhari traced the insecurity in the country to the door-step of theFederal Government which he accused of failing to put crime undercontrol. Said he: "In regard to physical insecurity, the government has failedin this respect to do the two basic and fundamental things for allpersons within a state, particularly the protection of life andproperty." Though he did not disclose the foreign powers that are frustratingSharia implementation nationwide, he advised his audience not torelent on the education of their fellow Moslems. "I believe education is the most difficult one because of the forcesoutside that are insisting that Moslems in Nigeria should not beallowed to raise their heads, which to me is not the ideal thing." Buhari continued: "This is the sacrifice the Moslems will have tomake and persuade their fellow country men who are non-Moslems toaccept. I will continue to show openly and inside me, the totalcommitment to Sharia movement that is sweeping all over Nigeria, Godwilling, we will not stop the agitation for the total implementationof the Sharia in the country". In his contribution, Niger State Governor Alhaji Abdulkadir Kurestated that the 1999 Constitution gave the various states theopportunity to upgrade their various laws saying that "this has nowbecome history." "At the beginning, it was objected to vehemently by others. Today, even the Federal Government has conceded to the fact that all whatthe states have done is within the ambit of the laws." Kure urged the officials of the council to ensure that the basicobjectives of the legal code are achieved all over Nigeria. The event was attended by the former Minister of Agriculture, AlhajiSani Zango Daura, Emir of Suleja, Alhaji Awwal Ibrahim, representatives of governments of Kano, Zamfara, Kaduna, Kebbi andSokoto states. There were also Islamic scholars from Imo, Enugu, Jigawa, Plateau,Niger, and Borno states. Guardian. http://m.allafrica.com/stories/200108270355.html/ |
Seaen:Buhari is an octogenarian, even though he claims to be in his mid 70s; look at him closely. Nearly all Nigerians born before birth registration started swear affidavits of age that brings down their age, do u know?. In short, APC made a mistake in choice of Buhari who carries a lot of political problems. Atiku would have given shoeless Jonah a big fight for his money. By the way, who is sure that Jagaband Bola did not deliberately support Buhari to make shoeless Jonah win? |
DaBullIT:You can lie even to your teeth. Fuel scarcity was nearly every month affair in Nigeria until Jonah came on board as president. |
They are saying to each other: our plans to bring back power to north appears to be paying off after this primary.

PDP does not know how to do campaign. What concerns PDP with what goes on in APC choice of leaders? Metu is effectively giving Buhari a clean bill of health. Ride on APC; PDP seems to be in disarray with amateur politicians at the head making pronouncements that effectively strengthen their party's opponents. |
