I'm sorry I haven't been able to get around the PM thing. It's Dr Xydas women's centre. Telephone is 1 (281) 583-8674. And the fee is same for Vaginal delivery and CS.
I've sent you a PM. please respond. Check your e-mail.

Hi Dear, i'm currently in Houston, using Houston North West Hospital. Dr's fee is 1,700 inclusive of tests. Hospital bill is 3,500 for CS. Epidural is 750. Not sure about Paediatrician yet. Cldnt get a price. I hope this helps.
I have the prices of this hospital. Is your Dr's fee for C-Section? If yes, please let me have the Dr's name and details. I hope he doesn't also have a fee for assistant surgeon. The prices I have are for Dr. Glenn Morgan.

Another challenge I have with this hospital is that it is about one hour away from my accommodation. Please could you help me find out how much taxi fare is from Highway 6 South Houston to Houston Northwest Hospital. Thanks.

Hello everyone! Congrats to all the Mums to be.. Been following this blog for a while now. I have been married for about a year now and we are expecting our 1st child.

My question comes from a very different direction. wonder if anyone has questioned or attempted to justify how worth it having a baby in the US is? When I worked out the costs, with the current exchange rate it works out to be N4m. (This is about a quarter of our savings).
Hmm my dear sister, successful people are those few who take risks. They are ready to come out of their comfort zone and take a big leap.

Even right here in Nigeria under our noses, see how foreigners are treated and we are the second class citizens. Just go to Bonny Island in Port Harcourt and see how ordinary Philippines with no University certificates are given international treatment while our graduates are put in congested camps by the oil companies. What about Julius Berger? My friend who works in Dubai said she was able to process work permit for her nanny coming from Nigeria in just two hours because she had a British passport. You earn and save more money with such passports and you are treated better. There are other examples too numerous to mention here.

You are even lucky that you are spending just part of your savings. I, for example, am spending my last kobo and when I come back with my
American baby , God willing, I am prepared to drink garri. I am taking it as a real business investment and I'm ready to face the odds. I waited for seven years to have children and I don't intend for them to be ordinary.

Most of the concerns you raised are centered around your comfort and convenience but remember that you may not always be there for your kids. That is the harsh truth about life. Just a month ago, one of my close clients and her husband were burnt to death in a fire accident at home after struggling to rescue their two kids who are now left to the world to take care of. From the way the family members looked the friends of the couple had to beg and convince them to leave the children with them. If those children had American passports I think things would probably have been much better.

It's really up to you to decide, anyway.

Congrats to Kate Middleton! Oh boy, how I wish I were in her shoes. I won't have to bother with all the things we're discussing here and no headaches from calculating, browsing, mailing, making calls, promo flights, dollar exchange rate, clothes, accommodation, visa, POE e.t.c.
Well, thank God.

I had a very unfortunate thing happen to one of people I am currently hosting and I feel its important to share it with everyone and to provide a good way to mitigate the risk of such things happening to other people.
So sorry about what happened. Please how does one open the US account (Bank of America) and what are the requirements?
TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 2 by dittobaby: 2:49pm On Apr 30, 2015
Yeah, I have the prices of all these cheaper hospitals though elpaso is now $6925 minus circumcision. For now, I'm stuck with Houston cas I've bought my tickets (me, mum and toddler). My mum is also not very well so I had to book an accommodation package that includes a lot of care services (soul care) so as not to stress her. So with these limitations I can't be on a budget. I have to look for the money anyhow. The only magic that can happen right now is if I get an affordable hospital in Sacramento, California where I have close family. But I have searched and searched without success. I even checked counties outskirts of Sacramento. Anyway, there is God ooo! shocked My American dream must come to past.

Hmm my dear, I have calculated and over calculated and I can see that Houston is not that cheap for we c- section bound women. Anesthesia alone in Methodist is $1,500! I'm getting totals of between $9,000 and $9,500. I just have to scout for more money before my travel date. Any philanthropist in the house? embarassed cry

Hello, if you don't mind opening. An account, my mum opened a savings account in Diamond yesterday and did PTA of 4000$ today at 200/$

She said they were courteous, delighted to do it and not as if they were doing her favour.
When my husband was told PTA is given only to account holders (Fidelity), the customer service lady offered to sharply open one for him. He declined cas he remembered one of their staff was always coming to his office to market the bank to him. So he called him up and behold the guy later came to our house yesterday evening with forms for my husby and I including already signed referee forms. He promised we'll get the currencies we need on Thursday, which is tomorrow. Hmm talk about home service!

Dear friends,

Join me in praising the Almighty God!!! My visa was approved this morning. The issue of my hubby's green card didn't come up at all. I made sure I was interviewed by a man. Kept dodging in the queue till a guy was free. Didn't want to deal with all those frowning women I saw there. I will post the interview transcript once I settle down in the office. I am still overwhelmed with joy cheesy grin
Heyaa. How sweet after all the fears. Praise God!

Hello everyone, please is there anyone who has actually used south west airlines from New York LGA to Houston? Please what was your experience like; is it advisable or not for a pregnant mum? I am trying to make a booking and I am seeing that arrival into Houston is through Hobby airport instead of IAH. Please I want to know if this also ok. Thanks for your time.
I did this booking myself a few days ago and I think you should also consider the following if you haven't already:

1. Yes, arrival is at Hobby airport and it is okay. You don't have much choice anyway.

2. Your time of arrival at New York JFK airport and estimated duration for POE. The least length of time from New York to Houston is 4 hours. So if you are arriving New York late, you might have to sleep at the airport or lodge in a nearby hotel. OR you book a late flight from New York to Houston and sleep at Hobby airport.

3. Considering your being pregnant ensure you book a nonstop flight to Houston.

My people, my people,
Broadcasting live from Chicago. Omo! This is my first time of using Chicago POE, gangsta moves o!
Chicago people have no chill, and I finally know the reason why. They don't receive a lot of visitors with visas, so they have all the time in the world to spend with you. Most passengers are green card holders or have US passport.
Hmm. Your story is very peculiar considering the fact that you've been a very active participant on this thread. You hardly followed any of the things we've been saying here. You are really a gangster! Why did you hide your pregnancy? One would have thought a guru like you would have been armed with enough burden of proof and you traveled with hardly any cash shocked. Na wa o. You really get liver. Anyway sha, congrats wink

Hello mums and mum to be. I want to give back to the wonderful forum that impacted so much to me, though my story is coming in a bit late.
I delivered my baby girl last 2weeks at Parkview Community Hospital, Riverside California. I will tell you that l had a wonderful experience with the hospital and doctor respectively. The hospital bill for cash pay patient Normal delivery is $1150(1day), $2300(2days) and C Section $3950(3days) excluding epidural. Doctor's bill is $1700, laboratory test $200-250, pediatrician $300. Hearing test is free. I believe this ll help someone in d house.
Congrats to you and baby!. Please help us ask people around for name and location of affordable accommodation with kitchen/kitchenette (between $700 - $1200 per month) even if it's one hour from the hospital! Most very cheap hotels are not usually online. Thanks and sorry for the trouble at this time but I really need this info. I don browse taya.

Thank God o! My son was given visa today. Remember that in my previous posts I stated that my visa was given to me based on vacation after which I sent a change of intent letter to the consular and received the generic reply from them.
I've been so scared that when I take my son for his interview they will use the opportunity to bombard me with questions concerning my birthing in the US. Luckily for me none of such happened.
I and my hubby went together. The security initially insisted that only one of us could go in with our son. I explained to them that I'm the one to go with him since we're travelling together but I can't handle him alone inside ( they could see I was very heavy and struggling to even stand straight). They agreed and let us both inside.
The VO looked surprised to see only one passport passed to her. She asked:

VO: You both have visas?
Us: Yes
VO: Where in the US have you been?
My husband answered this question as I have never been there.
VO: Where are you going with your son now?
Me: Texas
VO: For how long?
Me: Three months
VO: Are you going to have a baby there?
Me: Yes. ( Here it comes. I thought to myself.)
VO: Have you been interviewed on this and presented your documents.
Me: No. I was interviewed based on vacation but I have sent a notification of my change. ( I quickly passed the letters to her.)
She collected them and read through. Then she suddenly stood up and went inside.
I said to myself, ' Oh my God where has she gone to. I hope she has not gone to report me to her superior.) But she was back as suddenly as she left with two sheets of paper.
VO: Your son's visa has been approved. Make sure you get a letter from a doctor and hospital you will be using and all other requirements mentioned here as it will be required at your point of entry ( holding up a medical sheet of paper and then handing the two sheets of paper to us).
Us: Okay. Thank you.

I felt so relieved. Now l feel much better because this also means that it is now in my records that I am going to the US for childbirth.

Senior Moms in the house, come and help a sis.
Mamatobenna told me she used a different pediatrician after delivery. She paid him or her only at first visit.

My thoughts on this is that if pediatrician fee is not part of the hospital package, you are free to source for your own pediatrician that is using or is registered with that same hospital.
