Business › Re: Ever Been Debited By Your Bank ATM Without Payment? Share Your Experience Here! by diva90: 3:45am On Dec 10, 2015
yavo2:
I lost 80,000 to atm fraud. I just sat at home one day and got alerts of withdrawals from my gtb account. The money was withdrawn from festac in lagos and I was in abuja. I wrote letters but its about two yrs now nothing. The 2nd one another 40k from first bank atm last year. I used a foreign atm card. The atm machine swallowed my 40k. They asked me to complain to my issuing bank. Till now nothing. Its just sad..
It's not just okay to file a complaint, you have to pester them to keep looking into the case. Same incidence occurred with my diamond bank debit card, I was in at a friends place and suddenly got an alert that my account was debited of N108,000 at some certain shop. A transaction that I never carried out. Evidently it was a scam payment made with my card. I immediately called the bank cos I was out of the country at that time and informed them, they said they would look into it but I was not convinced with the way the customer service handled it so I followed it up when I went back to nigeria, went to the bank severally and complained. Finally after about two months, I recieved a credit alert of N98k I think, guess they charged me a fee for the recovery as they didn't give me back my full amount. After that incidence , I immediately said I will no longer use their card as I had seen that it's very susceptible to fraud. Nigerian banking is complicated, u must follow them up if u want a successful process

I bank with Bank of America currently. Maybe I should carry my amebo self and ask them why this old man has campus edge account meanwhile Younglings like us can't get the account. Once you are older than 24 you are no longer qualified for campus edge Acct , be u a student or no student. And by owning that campus edge Acct he is avoiding monthly maintenance fees. Such a fraud!

Career › Re: The Hard Truth About Your Salary by diva90: 4:59am On Dec 04, 2015
This post is so enlightening that I had to share it with my Bbm friends. This is why I don't envy everyone that says that they have a job and earn salary. Some people work and can't pay bills with what they earn. Someone that makes 50k a month for example, 100k in two months... How does such a person feed , clothe, transport themself and live comfortably? Talk less of someone who earns way less. Nothing beats entrepreneurship at the end of the day. Even some cab drivers make more than an average banker or teacher in a month. It's always safe to have a back up while you have a major job.

So shocked at the current rate. Within two weeks , from N223 to N240. Withdrew dollar today 27/11/15 with my fidelity bank atm at N240 per $. Now I'm wondering what's the difference btw blackmarket and bank atm card rate. What a rip off! undecided

Can't blame her. It's always hard to settle for less when u have seen better or been accustomed to a better life. If she's a wise woman, she should look for a way to make ends meet instead of waiting for her husband to do everything for her.

Family › Re: Alarming Number Of Unmarried Ladies (28 - 39 Yrs) by diva90: 7:23am On Nov 17, 2015
MRBrownJ:
@OP
there are few issues here:
FIRST: NIGERIANS BELIEVE WOMEN MUST BE MARRIED TO BE VALUED
the solution to this problem lies in changing the prehistoric mentality of Nigerians who believe that the life's aim of any woman is to be married and have children (and that parents should have the last say on the matter). from their early age, parents beat that notion into young girls brain so these ladies will grow up believing that they aint shiit unless a man take them as wives.... and their parents approval is the do or die on the matter. the roots of that tree is rotten and we have to change it if we want to make better apples.

SECOND: ACCEPTING YOUR FATE
if you are +35, then you have lived about 17yrs seeking for that "Mrs" status without success, and since you know the social environment you live in, i suggest you let it go and accept that maybe it aint for you (and/or go insult your parents who refused all suitors that came your way). but hopefully by then, you have a great job that you can fully focus on. i am sure you are comfortable with who/what you are and i sincerely hope you dont settle for the 1st donkey that come your way, out of desperation.

sadly you have to accept the possibilities that you may be a gf (at best), for the rest of your life. there is no point still seeking for marriage when you see what you are up against out there. any +35 woman who still desperately seek for Mr right has to seriously answer the simply question: "why?".

THIRD: MEN AINT CRAZY
if you are a successful/beautiful/sexy +35yrs old woman, and yet still single, you have to look within yourself to know what drive men away from you. too high expectations? thinking to high of yourself? wrong character? NO morals? NO class? NO integrity? a good responsible woman does NOT stay single for long on the market, and a stubborn conceited woman need to fully accept that she may be single for a while. unfortunately, you best have a diamond cootie cat if you are ugly broke +35, and expect to compete with all them young 18+ women out there who are (as well) desperately looking for a husband to save them out of their misery.

LAST BUT NOT LEAST: LETS BE REAL HERE
what man in his right mind would settle for someone that passed her early 30s, when there are gazillions of young beautiful energetic 18-20yrs old out there desperately seeking for "any" well to do man to marry them? the younger men (18-30) out there would desire someone their own age, the mid range men (30-40) would look at these women and question why they havent been married all this time, and instead they would settle for someone "fresher" ranging from 25 to 30..... and the older men (40 and up) would mostly seek for an arm candy at this stage of their lives, and therefore also settle for the younger desperate women out there that are freely available in 9ja. so the reality is, pass 30 these women are indeed "old cargo".
3 and 4 are very true. The irony of all this is that many of them don't even care these days. So far as there is money and they are doing well, they automatically take consolation in that.

Jobs/Vacancies › Re: Got 2 Job Offers With Ridiculous Pay And Conditions Today by diva90: 6:00am On Nov 14, 2015
both are terrible options! for a BSC holder you deserve better...this is worse than HND/OND pay....however, i would say go for A if you have great marketing skills and would be able to deliver well! and B if you still have your eye out for a better job...that way you would be able to move without any commitments when there is a better offer.

Give God or man? If God can take money from me, I will empty my bank account for him.
But since na man dey chop d money, I will keep puting 10 naira every sunday.
Or are you telling me that the account the money is going into is linked with God's BVN?
Guy, leave story for tortoise abeg.
You took the words right out of my mouth! The God we serve is not interested in material things! What shall it profit a man to put N1m offering in church every Sunday but still goes out and continues to live a worthless life. At the end of the day, it's our heart and private good deeds that matter most. God will be happier to see us help a poor neighbor with that money instead. Our mentality is so poor that these pastors are banking on their church members. You see pastors these days buying private jet while more than half of his congregation are living in acute poverty. Some things don't make sense!

But most Nigerian men love fair ladies. So you can't blame a girl for wanting to look 'desired'. Some times it's societal standards and preferences... Light skin is in most cases attractive
