I'm in #Nlwriters Oya read and vote As I closed the door behind me, my friend rushed towards me with a big smile. 'At last', he whispered. I glanced at the room and couldn't specifically disagree with him. I sighed. I was done for. A very beautiful lady-scrap that- tarty lady was in my room. I was a Christian and she was a Christian friend. She had to sleep at my place because her fiancee wanted sex that night, but she adamantly refused and ended up in my room since she left his room angrily, forgetting he lived in an estate where the occupants can't move in and out after 9pm, and she had forgotten that she travelled to Ibadan from Lagos. So, that night I sat at my table and read my bible unending until the morning came. She delightedly left my place, telling me how much she was pleased to have kept her virginity. I was happy as I saw her off to the car park, carefully emphasising why it was so good to keep her stance as a Christian. 'I left something for you in the house.' 'What?' 'A Thank-You note.' 'Oh! A note? You shouldn't have bothered'. 'There's more to it'. I knew her. There was always more to everything. So I rushed home to meet my door opened wide and my neighbour in my room. He had an amused look. 'What?' I said. He pointed at a paper he was holding and laughed. 'Okobo oshi, from Clara' I looked at my zip. Clara had just called me impotent. Till today Clara has refused to pick my call. This is the story I entered into Etisalat Flash fiction. Audio: 4/10 Story : 8/10 Graphics : 7/10 Directing : 7/10 Total Rating : 5/10 Genre: Drama Producer: Yetqeen Films and Living Water Films Runtime:100 minutes Writer: Joyce Patrick I won’t lie to you, throughout the movie I was expecting a person named Wuraola to pop out to either be the protagonist or a new antagonist but by the time I ended the first part, I came to understand that the title was used to depict what would happen in the movie. In the movie,we were introduced to Doyin( Joyce Patrick) who was a sickler. Despite her mother special care, her father saw her as a burden and disregarded her. He believed he was wasting money and that made her leave home to stay with her grandmother (Lanre Hassan). However the story turned and we saw a big twist. Wurola entered the kitchen and met her grandmother on the phone with her father. She was vehemently accusing him and blaming him for maltreating Doyin because Doyin was not his daughter. Overhearing this conversation infuriated Doyin and she left home forgetting that her sickness takes over anytime it wants. When she got to the Aunty Shade’s Shop, a trader( Aishat Abimbola- by the way she is my crush), she felt weak and would have crashed to the ground but for the timely intervention of Aunty Shade. Now, a quick peek at the past: Aunty Shade was not prospering in her business and have tried many methods to make her market boom to no avail. Immediately she helped Doyin, people had the desire to buy things from Aunty Shade e.g a crate of egg. But she didn’t read any meaning to it until a cleric helped her understand that she needed to find a way of always making Doyin happy. Then, Doyin left Aunty Shade but had another attack from her sickness. Yet, another person, Sukanmi, helped her and took her home. At the junction, I must lament because of a lady that acted passersby when Doyin fell, her part was somewhat exagerated- normally, I don’t fancy people acting that way in our day to day activities, it always look like an act. Sukanmi also had relentlessly searched for Job and only got double job offers after he helped Doyin. And his pastor hinted him not to let Doyin go.But when he proposed marriage to Doyin, she refused because of her condition. Meanwhile, Doyin’s Father(Akin Lewis) was having misfortune at every end and he was forced to consult a herbalist, who said he must bring her back home. And we were made to know the movie has a sequel. I’ll be posting a spoiler for the Sequel let’s watch out for it. At this point, they have to use ungodly means to win her over and I have fears for Doyin. What do you do you think about Wuraola? Who will Wuraola follow? https://olofoforeview./2016/10/18/the-choice-between-wealth-and-shame-or-poverty-and-dignity-as-depicted-in-wealth/

1.Bike man and Queen: This is the best scene for me. I so much love the way the actor played his role. He redirected his anger at other road users and he reminded us of typical Okada drivers. 2 . Dragged By Soldier: I’m particularly drawn to the drama that happened when Queen bribed the gateman of a military man’s beautiful house. She took her boyfriend to the venue and lied that the house belonged her. She claimed it was the smallest of her inherited houses. When the owner of the house arrived, Queen tried to hide but one of the military man’s bodyguards caught her. Immediately, she saw him she pretended to faint but he dragged her to the sitting room. That place was exceptionally hilarious. .3 . I love this statue: Another extremely funny Scene was the place Queen pretended to be a statue when she saw the ladies she duped. Unfortunately, one of them admired the cloth she wore and went to the extent of pulling the cloth. She had to change her tactics to ‘run for your life’ 4. Curse anything: Okay! Ganiu can curse and abuse anything. He doesn’t even mind. Curses pour out of his mouth like an overfilled tank. 5. A List of Ridiculous Solutions: When you visit an herbalist always expect the unexpected. The herbalist gave her a list of ridiculous solutions. It got me laughing even till now. Here are the options. A. Bring the person that cursed you. The person is your villager. B. Buy 201 local eggs and break it at every T-junction of the world, where a t-junctionrepresents a country. C.Find a blind pregnant woman who is also a mother of a baby that is not more than a year. https://olofoforeview./2016/10/18/my-5-best-scenes-from-iku-iro/

Genre: Romance, Thriller Runtime: 73 minutes Writer: Toyin Aimaku Rating: 5/10 ABIMBOLA is a movie about Vengeance. The film is centred around the protagonist,Funke(Bimbo Oshin). She is the daughter of a rich man, who inherited the wealth of her father being an only child. And she’s Abimbola’s Elder cousin. At the beginning of the movie, Funke tried to no avail to revamp her husband’s, Jaiye’s( Afeez Eniola), love for her. So, she invited Abimbola to live with her and her husband with the hope that her presence in their house would make her husband reduce the way he physically abused her. And the plan worked. Yes! It worked. This period gave her time to think better and she came to the conclusion that her husband was seeing another woman. So, she recruited Abimbola’s help in looking for the woman, whoever she might be- not to fight her like Abimbola would have wanted; instead to plead with her. I must quickly say here that Abimbola’s character was made to reflect a lady that grew in the slum and had befriended fearsome people. Abimbola took her to Fido(Niyi Johnson), who promised to find the woman; however, he duped Funke by showing her pictures of Aishat (Adunni Ade). I could see that Toyin Aimaku spent a lot on this movies. She really used the best hands(top actors(resses) whose bill would so rank high). Even the venues were dope. * Screech … Screech* Back to the review Funke and Bimbo visited Aishat, who promised to leave Funke’s husband for 10 million naira. And Funke agreed, despite Bimbo’s insistence on not paying but killing Aishat. Prior to the day they were to pay Aisha, Jaiye said he was sorry for always fighting her and he was able to make Funke give him 8million. She was happy indeed! When they got to Aishat’s place, event turned and we discovered that Aishat was a coy, that Abimbola was the woman Jaiye had been seeing. ( Don’t ask me how. Watch it). Abimbola believed her grandfather made a wrong judgement by sending Funke’s Grandfather to school and also making Funke inherit a lot of wealth would have been hers. Left to Abimbola, she would have killed Funke but Fido wanted to incriminate her by forcing her to do something really bad, and that made the police arrest her. But things were not as we thought. Abimbola’s planned had been foiled and the whole plan had actually being Funke’s. We came to understand that she and Fido knew themselves somehow and they changed the plan to make Abimbola be at the receiving end. Olofoforeview I have a little problem with Toyin Aimaku in this movie (The story writer) or Bogambe Abiola Paul(the script writer and the director). Despite the beauty of the story and the thrilling complications, the movie wasn’t tightened enough. Some knots were not neatly closed. There were lot of questions unanswered there were parts the writers or the director assumed the viewers would understand which ought not to be. The cover-up for some other messy parts was the great actors involved. They made us overlook it. Some of the messy parts were 1. How did Fido know Funke? 2. The part they all revealed themselves was not just okay. Ahba! It was rushed. The movie was a very good idea that was crammed into 73 minutes. Some parts put me on edge (not suspense-wise but in dismay). Also, some things were reveal too soon. What do you think about the movie. And which movie would you love to see its review next? Olofofo Review Iku Iro started as a story that have almost the same bearing as FunKe Akindele's 'Jenifa' and Toyin Aimaku's Alakada' where see a lady trying to be who she isn't. I'm not writing this review to compare this movie with 'Jenifa' and ' Alakada'. Even if that will appear, it would be in another post. My interest in Queen Oluwa's style became piqued by way she escaped in the beginning of the movie after she made her date (Lateef Adedimeji) suffer for her greed when the owner of the car she borrowed in her absense stumbled upon it at a bar. Trouble. Her insatiable desire to be what she isn't reared its ugly head again when she met her friend, Bola(Temitayo Adeniyi), at a bar. Trust her, her running mouth had told Bola she was a Senator's daughter and that she had 80000 Naira at hand. My problem with these type of movies is that having watched one of its type, we tend to predict the storyline. Normally when the camera focuses on a character, we know that the protagonist would disgrace herself and the character would render help. However, I was impressed when Queen escaping paying 32,000 naira after deceiving a jobless man and the bar man. That part can best be interpreted with the eyes. But she didn't learn her lesson, she still did some other mischievous things like coning Bola and her friends. She collected 300,000 naira from Bola alone. Yet, the addiction made her go to the village of her mother(Remi Oshodi) to brag with borrowed car and fake money. Her mother was a proud person, who despite her ragged chairs, would do anything to show her superiority. It was here, she gave a fake money to someone in her village. The fake money brought disgrace to this person and this person inflicted her with some sicknesses one of which was scratching of her body from 8pm to 8am. The story was meant to be a comedy but I laughed a little here and there ( not much of her fault, it's this change *lol*) but I just couldn't stop laughing when I got to the end of the movie, when she was with the herbalist. He gave a ridiculous list that even thinking of it now cracked me up. Well, for your info: The movie doesn't have a sequel. When I asked Queen Oluwa if the movie would have a next part on her Ig @QueenOluwa, she said 'No'. So, why not go watch it for yourself. Meanwhile in my next post about 'Iku Iro', I'll be posting ' My Five Top Scenes From Iku Iro'. Genre: Drama, Comedy Runtime: 106 minutes Writer: Queen Oluwa Rating: 6/10 So, what will be your rating of the movie and what movie will you like to see its review next? Drop your reply I'm the comment box.

Well, I'm not a fan of double dating but I know people that are 3year+ now in a relationship that had this statement as an opener. I would just advice that the guy impress her with his confidence, and when she spit the word, she will give the indication of opening her portal for him by telling him to let them remain friends. |
like seriously, you can't end there o |
I think every christain's belief should be hinged on the bible. Christains do not need to pray over cobweb because you've the victory already. Even when a rattle attacked paul, he shook it off and continued his making of fire. There are some basic knowledge that must not elude us. We agree they might exist but the bible says nothing shall by any means hurt you. I've heard of people returning home a few minutes after they left because they encountered cobweb. That's fear. Not precaution. Even if there are demonic cobwebs should we now start dodging cobwebs on the road. If you live like that, you will die wretched with little peace. Your case will be like Jacob in Genesis 47, where Pharoah was forced to ask how old he was when he saw how his children bundled him into the palace. |
Smallville10:thanks. i just tried it with the pianist, it's workin for me. I wil be tryin it with the choir tomorow. i think they mixing some notes. |
I wrote a choir song for a concert where the end of the bridge has to lead to a modulation, and this will be done 3 times. My aim was that the song will move a semitone each i.e from B to C to C# but the choir is automatically moving 2 tones higher on the first modulation and 2 and a half tone each for the next two modulation, no matter the number of time we do it i.e from B to Eflat' to Aflat' to C#''.. And the bridge had been forced to be done in Unison as against the harmony I planned for it. While some believe it's awesome, I will like to get more proffesional views. |
Chapter 1 Flowers February 14, 2015 Today in History: 2005 – YouTube is launched by a group of college students, eventually becoming the largest video sharing website in the world and a main source for viral videos. She basked in the darkness of the garden and heard the old rusty gate creak. That was surprising. The garden had been forsaken for years and ever since she started coming there- a year ago- nobody had ever stepped on the place, even during the day. She felt the place was been desecrated. It belonged to her and her alone. It was her place of zen, rest, of putting things together, of making herself sane. The garden laid opposite her house, but it had been naturally covered with a lot of wild bushes. Since the owner died some years before, no one had ever stepped forward to claim it. She took it upon herself to make it cleaner and fit for thinking, for solving and reconstructing her knotted, puzzled life. Did she need to shout the intruder out? The darkness made it impossible for her to see who had just come in but she, like a lioness, had to show her ownership of the territory. ' Who's that?' The person turned, and scurried for the gate. ' It's okay', she shouted. ' I'm human'. The person stopped at the gate. The dim light from the street reflected on the person. The person held on to the gate, a bag hanged from his or her side. ' Come. I'm human, a woman and I'm as real as air', she called again, not sure if the person would be compelled to stay. Despite the trousers the person wore, she couldn't discern if the person was a man or a woman. Dry leaves crumbled under heavy steps as the person trudged slowly towards her. She held her breathe as she watched this person find his or her way towards her. From the way the person marched she knew he or she was being careful about not scratching his or her cloth with grasses. But luckily for this person she had cleared the place. The stone bench she sat on could seat five people at once. Not minding the darkness, she had an unusual assurance that this person also needed a place to pour our his or her heart into the night. A place lonely, peaceful, dark, sacred; a place the wiles of the world wouldn't gain access to. ' Good evening', a tiny male voice said. Biola knew he was speaking with the falsetto but she was less concerned. ' Good evening. Happy Val.' She tapped the stone bench loudly. ' This place can seat more than two people, and it's the only one here. So have your seat'. He mumbled his appreciation and sat without talking. She kept wallowing in her pain, anger, and drifted to her desire to know who the intruder was. Then, repeated the order. At last, she succumbed to her curiosity of who he was. ' I'm hot',she said at last. He roused. ' But it's cold out here'. ' No... That's my nickname... So, once again I'm hot'. ' Oh! That means you must be very beautiful '. She laughed. It felt good. That was the first hearty laughter she had had since she travelled the previous day. ' So they say. So, my friends say. I hope others, you included, would agree with this'. ' That's good'. She frowned but was happy the place was dark. His reply was awkward. Normally, a better guy, like John, would have pushed the conversation further and their conversation would have rolled on like sky- endless, changing at different points. The gravy, heavy silence made her revert to her thought. Her life had normally been devoid of comfortability. So, there was a pointer to the fact that her present trouble would also end for a bigger one. She pondered on the lyrics of Sam Cooke's song 'It's been too hard living, but I'm afraid to die 'Cause I don't know what's up there, beyond the sky It's been a long, a long time coming But I know a change's gonna come, oh yes it wil' l She remembered when they first met and remembered especially the day he popped the great question that was a year ago. It was February 14 too. Insects chirped and cars occasionally hummed past. The breeze from all corners jostled to enter her pores and made her tighten her cloth. Just as she felt it was time to leave, she still felt nudged to ask the intruder what he really wanted in that corner of the street. And she succumbed to her urge. ' I'm a pastor', he replied as though his voice was an axe, and the cold darkness an egg. As if talking loud would smash it. ' Good evening Pastor. Let's restart it. I'm Hot'. ' I'm.... Are you okay with my nickname too?' ' Yes. Okay... I'm Element. Do you come here often?' ' No. I come here everyday. This is the only solace in this warful world. This is the only corner that can hide me from the windy turbulence that bestowed itself on us'. ' I understand you. Are you a Christian?' She scoffed. She wanted to just give him a simple reply but she saw the need and opportunity to pour out her heart to God. Even if he wasn't present physically, a pastor, his representative was there and he would hear it. ' Yes. You know I've been wondering why God watches me in my sufferings and I see no soothing balm? Why did he even create me? What's the essence of creating me into a life that wants me out of the way? Why didn't he allow the deserving and good things come to me on time? Why?' ' He has his...his purpose for all mankind, for allowing anything'. ' I used to believe that'. ' My belief about it has just been strengthened tonight. I can't really explain what your being here means. I have been wondering why I met you here. I first discovered this place last week and decided to come here when the need arises '. She swallowed and wiped the tears that was already trailing down her face. ' I'm sorry. I've said a lot. I ought not to have said such, especially to a stranger. I have to go now. By the way, this place belongs to me, it's my shrine. I can allow you come to think here also. 'Thanks'. ' And I hope to meet you in the daylight'. ' No. Let's make it remain this way'. The old gate screeched tiredly as she headed home. Things were happening too fast. How come she opened her hidden wound to a total stranger? She just couldn't understand that feeling. But she loved it and wanted to have more of it. Pastor or not, she loved his company, his voice, his presence-it made her feel buoyant. The same type of feeling she had only when she was with John. And mischievously, she seemed to hear John through this stranger, talking to her like the sage he was. 'Oh John!' She sighed and locked the door of her massive, ominous-memory-filled house. |
