TravelArik Air Reportedly Becomes Slave Camp As Unpaid Staff Beg Passengers For Money by divinehand2003(op): 12:03pm On Oct 22, 2016
The staff of Arik Air, which once advertised itself as Nigeria's biggest airline, have been reduced to panhandling from passengers, as they are being owed a backlog of salaries.

In addition to not being paid, the staff are working under horrible conditions similar to what obtains in slave camps.

Sources in the aviation company told SaharaReporters that the Chairman, Johnson Arumemi-Ikhide, has been terrorizing staff and sacking them arbitrarily. He is said to have studiously avoided discussing with staff on how to pay salaries, which stretch back to July.

The Chairman, sources added, is more concerned about activities lined up for the airline's 10th anniversary.

He is said to sack staff on mere hearsay or text messages sent to him by traitorous staff desperate to do their colleagues in. Those involved function as spies, who invent allegations of wrongdoing and pass them on to the Chairman.

Last week, a female staff, Julia, was sacked for calling one of Arumemi-Ikhide's spies "Chairman's baby."

He also suspended another staff for braiding her hair. In August, he sacked one Captain Obot because he refused to fly, having not being paid for two months.

At the Murtala Mohammed International Airport said company sources, staff have had to board passengers in darkness. While the staff of other airlines have internet facilities, Arik staff, airport sources said, are forced to personally provide internet facilities for the company's use.

"The situation has turned many of us into corporate beggars. We rely on passengers for crumbs to feed and cater for our family. Our aircraft cannot be regarded as safe because pilots are traumatized by not being paid," said a staff.

She added that the company has not reviewed salaries in over seven years. Staff pensions and taxes, she added, are not remitted.

Also, the staff disclosed that Arik owes insurers and all types of suppliers and vendors.

Some of its cabin crew members, said another source, have been locked out of hotel rooms due to the airline's inability to pay. Sim slots for pilots, he further said, are canceled because the airline cannot make payments for the simulator.

The airline is also a place of industrial apartheid. Its expatriate staff, who do exactly what Nigerians are doing, to routinely recycle meals that should be thrown away are paid in dollars and usually seven times the amount Nigerians earn. The security department is said to have two different salary grades for graduate staff.

"We don't have work tools. We buy our own rain boots, torchlight and pregnant security staff sleep on the tarmac for night duty.

"We even pay for our uniforms. The last time Arik Air gave us clothes was seven years ago," an angry staff said.

Another issue with the airline is that it recycles meals that should be routinely thrown away, our source said.

"If meals are not eaten on the plane, they are put back in the freezer for another time. This can lead to food poisoning," said a catering department staff.

Many members of staff disclosed that they are currently being overworked and under enormous pressure.

One of them told this medium that some staff were sacked for registering as members of one of the aviation workers' unions. He explained that the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) is aware of what is happening in Arik but turning a blind eye.

The Managing Director, Mr. Chris Ndulue, his deputy, Captain Ado Sanusi, and Chief Pilot are said to be too timid to confront the chairman.

9. Pastor performs miracle using snake

Indeed, miracle pass miracle. A South African pastor, Prophet Penuel of the End Times Disciples Ministries showed his miraculous skills during service. He declared a snake to become a chocolate (chomp) and gave the congregation to eat it. Funny enough, his congregation ate it and said it tasted like chocolate. This same pastor told his members to lie on the ground, he then drove his car over them to show the ‘power of God’.

8. Pastor gives congregants petrol to drink

Some pastors don’t mind going too far to show the powerful things God can do. To demonstrate his miraculous power, a certain controversial South African pastor, Daniel Lesego of the Rabboni Centre, prayed over a bottle which according to him contained petrol, to be turned to pineapple juice. He then gave members of congregation to drink. After consuming the content of the bottle, his congregants testified that indeed, it tasted like juice and asked for more.

7. Unusual tummy tuck miracle

When people thought they had seen it all, a pastor performed a very unusual miracle which got tongues wagging. A woman named Zimeye was said to have told the pastor how her clothes are now tight for her because of her big protruded stomach. She was told by the pastor to raise her hands up and within seconds, her tummy went down miraculously.

6. Pastor provokes miracle calls on mobile phones

Somewhere in Cameroon, one Pastor Vicky Darll, who is the general overseer of Let There Be Light To All Nations, decided to perform miracle on the phones of his church members. He ordered his church members to gather their phones during a service, on which he prayed to “provoke miracle calls”. Miraculously, some of the phones reportedly started ringing on the altar as he was praying.

5. Girl turns to python

Like one of those Nollywood movies, an 11-year-old girl reportedly turned into a ‘python’ during a crusade. This happened when Prophet Joshua Iginla of the Abuja-based Champion Royal Assembly Church stormed Cameroon for apostolic invasion. She admitted having over a million demons she operated with and that she is the strong man controlling the affairs of the country. When the man of God commanded her to manifest her true nature, she turned to ‘python’ and began gliding through the pathway.

Well, it turns out that Nigerian pastors are not the only miracle workers. There are miracle workers in other parts of Africa and all over the world. Below are some unusual miracles by other African pastors.

4. Airtime commanded into phones

A pastor who heads Jesus City Mountain, Asero in Abeokuta area of Ogun state, commanded angels to send airtime to his members’ phones during a revival service. The congregation was asked to lift up their phones while he prayed. When the prayers ended, some his members came out to testify that they got supernatural airtime on their phones just the moment the pastor prayed.

2. Randy man’s permanently erect penis healed

A randy man identified as Segun Omotosho was delivered at the Synagogue Church Of All Nations (SCOAN). He was said to have slept with a demon possessed woman after which his penis refused to go down. It remained permanently erect and no medical intervention could bring it down. However, when he went to SCOAN, Prophet T.B. Joshua was able to cast out the demons and his manhood became flaccid.

Nigerians love miracles so much and that is why you see churches that specialize in miracle with more than enough members trooping in and out. Some will keep moving from one church to the other in search of miracles. Once they hear there’s a new pastor in town that can do this and do that, you see them rushing there.

Many do not believe in miracles anymore due to the rate at which miracle churches are springing up everywhere in Nigeria. Some of these miracles are not even free, you have to pay for it. Over the years, we’ve seen some Nigerian pastors perform miracles that left many in doubt.

Below are some miracles that left Nigerians with many unanswered questions.

1. Dead baby raised to life

Like a scene from a Nollywood movie, a 6-month-old dead baby was reportedly raised back to life at the Mountain Miracle and Liberation Ministries, a.k.a Liberation City. This happened on Sunday, February 7, 2016. Miracle by Pastor Chris Okafor left members of the church in shock while the parents of the baby shed tears of joy.

WHY I AM THE 40TH OBA AND 81TH RULER NOT 39TH - OBA EWUARE II

THE OBAS CORONATION SPEECH READS THUS:
New Oba of Benin ,Oba Ewuare II m reveals his vision, mission, in first speech after coronation as the 39th Benin monarch
 
Speaking to the people for the first time after is coronation, Oba Ewuare II promised to initiate cultural renaissance that would focus on tourism production through arts and crafts by establishing the Benin Royal Trust and Benin Royal Academy for Performing Arts.
Oba Ewuare II said he would carry out reforms in palace administration in order to adequately respond to the peoples’ sincere and deep-longing for justice, equity and stability.
He promised to discharge the sacred responsibility of being the channel through powers of the ancestors guide and protect the kingdom and the people.
The Oba described the late Oba Erediauwa as a true symbol of cultural identity.
Oba Ewuare said: “The Benin people recognise
Prince Ekelerhan also known as Oduduwa and his origin from Igodomigodo but it is not in our place to force this recognition on others outside out boundaries.
“Historians all agreed that Oduduwa sent his son Oranmiyan as requested by elders of Benin to return with them as ruler of their realm. Oranmiyan stayed in Benin, but his stay was short. But by the time he left he had a son known today as Eweka I. Oranmiyan’s time in Benin was however short-lived, he was an Oba. So he was the first Oba after the Ogiso dynasty, he established Obaship in Benin. Therefore the listing of past Obas should start from Oranmiyan. This actually made my late father the 39th Oba of Benin while I am the 40th Oba of Benin.”
The history of the world is a shared one and there will certainly be unexpected connections in the future.
“This is a time for unity and not divisiveness, a time for mutual respect, recognising that our wholeness as people is so much more than the sum of our parts.”
He promised to partner with government to attract domestic and international resources for the establishment of clusters of Agro-based industries in each of the seven local government areas.
He said the transformation of Gelegele into an export processing zone for agro-allied industries would remain one of his major projects with the support of the Federal Government.
Oba Ewuare II announced the established of Oba Erediauwa Annual Lecture series in which the sum of N10m would be invested.
Oba Ewuare, after whom the new Oba is named, was known as Ogidigan. He ruled the Benin Kingdom in the 15th century.
A magician and warrior, it was under his reign that the Portuguese first had contact with the kingdom. He expanded the kingdom, fortified the city against external aggression by building the moat, conquered 201 villages and introduced many festivals.
He is regarded as the greatest Oba in the history of Benin Kingdom. History also recorded that it was during his reign that many tribes such as the Itsekiri, the Urhobo and others left Benin for their new settlement.
Crown Prince Erediauwa opted to be called Oba Ewuare II to replicate the deeds of his great grandfather
ARE YOU SURE YOU ARE IN THE RIGHT PLACEhuh?
