J for Jokes of the century. it's all games. putting pressure on the southerners to put their house in order. |
That means he was not screened by the senate. They just copied and pasted the names sent to them. Rubber stamp senate |
Like military services, like healthcare services. While the hands directly battling the insurgents receive peanuts (N1000/day) as their rewards, those who sit in high offices have mega pockets with their cups running over. While they leave the combatants to fate, praying that God protects them, the office occupiers get the best of protection and again the best of war ammunitions are kept for display or showmanship in those offices. Little wonder insurgency seems unquenchable until the N’djamena warriors came dwarfing our technical defeat stories. During this Corona virus stuff, ALL healthcare workers - attending to patients or formulating policies for patient management-are important. This cannot be overemphasized. Either you work directly treating COVID patients at the frontline or at next line attending to all other ailments including asymptomatic COVID cases which are even more dangerous. It is a perilous time for health workers trust me. The health sector is however not spared from the rottenness of the Nigerian society. The beautiful N95 masks you see on the television are just meant for the television display by the high and powerful politicians. The only one I have touched physically is kept as a display somewhere otherwise, healthcare givers have no access to them. Talking about personal protective equipment is like preparing for a journey to Pluto. Even when you put in your best in the manners of General Adeniyi, you end up counting your losses while maintaining that “we are not running”. The ones without contacts with patients, without medical qualifications, sit in the palatial offices determining the future of the front liners. They get the estacode and brew ideas from Sheol like importation of FOREIGN doctors. Ask what they give the ones working here, N5000 or $13 hazard allowance. But for the exigency of COVID-19 and absence of escape route of elites to saner climes, who cares about ventilators, anaesthetic machines, automated external defibrillators, ambulances. Common running taps are a luxury in most tertiary hospitals where surgeons, ever ready to operate fight each other to get operating suites and one sad case, a neurosurgeon had to helplessly defer a borehole surgery for good three weeks due to dry water taps. While I enjoy the attention given to the health sector at the moment, my fear is the return to the trenches with business as usual when COVID finally succumbs which is sure. I call on the NMA, NARD, PSN, NANNM, JOHESU and all other health related civil societies to jettison their age long differences and fight a common enemy that see through those differences using such to perpetrate corruption in the health sector. I hope the government at the federal, state and local government will henceforth improve on the health budget while incorporating all willing Nigerians into the NHIS which has just 15% coverage for now. Given the right tools, healthcare workers are ever ready to work just as occurs when the military have the right ammunition. GOD BLESS NIGERIA. |
When a govt wakes up and decided to sack about 20 underpaid doctors working in the emergency, in an institution that when they call for recruitments nobody applies because of poor renumeration, how do you explain that. How do explain that nurses who have 5 years to retire are compulsorily sent home because u feel their salary which is not up to one hundredth of a politician estacode is too much. How do u compulsorily retire a 27year old man with less than 5 years in service. Enikan lomo |
Save the croc. So simple |
Baba cannot just die in the middle of this enjoyment o. Baba please come back to life, we must enjoy this buhari together. We still look forward to the 40naira per fuel liter...iku Doro..(death is wicked) |
ASUU has no reasonable reason to oppose IPPIS. I guess its going to affect sabbatical payments. The autonomy ish doesn't really hold waters. The university still prepares the total number of lecturers, IPPIS minimizes across institutions and opens more space for new entrants. |
Somebody should please show these pictures to Ekiti state governor. Good governance is not just talking grammar and signing bogus documents up and down, neither is it flagging up projects like airports in a state where most of the citizens can barely eat 2 meals daily nor commissioning predecessors projects. Time is going, we need him to deliver palpable projects. |
So long an essay |
I presume that most times when you have achieved some status, academic, financial, political, and even spiritual, people forget the titles, your name in itself becomes an insignia....so you mention buhari, atiku, obasanjo, elumelu, dangote, otedola, adeboye.etc most times without the title. |
1. Has hunger reduced in the land? 2. Is there any reduction in the price of food stuffs? 3. Have people moved above the poverty line? 4. How readily do you get the local rice to buy? 5. Are you aware that Benin Republic with a population of 11million is now the largest importer of rice? You better cast your vote for the one who understands economics and politics and not someone with apparent dementia who breeds some menopausal cows |

This is not the expected third force. These ones are expended politicians. The third force would comprise men and women who have burning passion for a better Nigeria and with history of positively influencing wherever [and whatever] they've been iutside politics. |
Leaving leprosy to treat ringworm. No sense. |
I somehow took in the 100% until i saw the name of the media outfit. It could still be true but 50% at that. |
Its quite unfortunate that the OP is refreshing an old wound. This incident has happened long before now. May their souls rest in perfect peace. |

The former NHIS executive secretary is also fingered to have lavished a whooping N2, 400,000 to fuel a private jet from Abuja to Sokoto on March 9, 2016 for a national health meeting and also said to have tempered with numbers of those who enrolled in the NHIS inflating the figures and thereby diverting N1, 241,720,154. Furthermore, the Minister is also accused of bribery of some NHIS staff union members to the tone of N2, 800,000 to cover up corruption and to wage petitions against Prof. Usman Yusuf, a senior staff of the health ministry said to be at the forefront revelations of the massive frauds in NHIS. The petition reads in part, “The former acting Executive Secretary, Mr. Akingbade paid 50% of fee for service to Health and Managed Care Association (HMCAN) in second quarters as arrears of fee for service from the year 2012 to 2015 with connivance to siphon NHIS funds. Also, HMCAN directed all their members to pay N9, 091,308.00,” which Akingbade diverted to himself. Also, the minister of health is accused of other reckless spending of NHIS funds and being silenced in prosecuting staff of NHIS found wanting of siphoning monies from the scheme’s scoffers. Fayose for continuity simply means he wants to nominate and install the next governor. He is not planning to contest. |

This analysis is grossly deficient. Osun and oyo pays half salaries Ogun pays net salaries without remitting deductions Its only lagos that has a clean bill. |
