Based on both my experiences, they always refund when you don’t exhaust the deposit made.

Refunds are processed within 10weeks after after the birth of the child. The second refund actually came in less than 10weeks after the birth of the child. They can issue you a cheque or send you a direct deposit. They’ll ask your preference for this. It its a cheque, someone can help you deposit this as well. But I guess a direct transfer will always be easier.

On the birth documents, you can process all within 4 weeks after delivery. I got mine under 4 weeks and left when the baby was 4 weeks. Its also faster to process when the father of the baby is around (in-country). But yes, its possible to process all within the 4 weeks timeframe.

You need to apply for the birth certificate online, as soon as the baby arrives. It takes less than a week for that to come in. Once you receive it, you can apply for the emergency travel certificate (ETC), there is no visa on arrival for babies. Note that you dont need a passport to apply for the ETC, so you can do both at the same time to meet the timeline you stated. The passport can be applied for at the relevant office closest to you and can be ready in days or weeks, depending on your travel itinerary and when you indicate you need the passport for. For ETC, you need to share all the requested information to Ottawa as indicated on the website- reach out to the airline to include the child in the itinerary because you would also need to send this. The ETC also took us 2 weeks as well. Once you receive the ETC and passport, you are good to roll.

Recall the post that mentioned that Medicom in Calgary has increased the deposit to $20k CAD.
This information is correct.

If you plan to birth in Calgary, note that you will now be required to deposit $20k CAD. An increase from the initial required deposit of $15k CAD.

The administrative fee has also increased from $300CAD to $1800 CAD.

The balance of your deposit will be refunded to you within 10 weeks after you have your baby.

@LilBabe1 I can confirm that this information is correct. It doesn't just apply in Calgary, it applies both in Edmonton (across Alberta).

I wanted to confirm from you based on your previous experience, it's the process of refund when you don't exhaust the 20k CAD easy, can someone help you to clear the cheque if you have already left Canada.

Also, please I will like to know the process of getting birth certificate, passport and visa on arrival timely, as my madam plans to leave Canada within 4 weeks after delivery. Thanks and waiting for your response

My guy, help your brother to offset his loan and stop complaining. Those guys are also most time under pressure to deliver. Failure to deliver equate no salary for the month. They also has family and the month is almost ending.

He has already offsetted his loan, and being under pressure is not an excuse to defame another person. Imagine i sent such message to his mother or wife. How will he feel.

My younger brother collected a loan of (N7,500) from an app called GET CASH! And due to unforeseen circumstance, he couldn’t pay back on the due date, and when the representative of GET CASH called him, he pleaded with them to give him more time to sort things out.

Only for him, his family members and friends to start getting the above text messages. The worst part that the said Shola was not even courteous enough to explain to people calling him to find out what truly happened when the got the text message, he will just tell you that they are handling the issue and he will hang up on you.

Because of that text message that he sent to my brother contacts, my mother was nearly hospitalized yesterday (she is hypertensive), it got lot of us deeply worried and worst of all, it made my brother loose business dealing, his reputation deeply tarnished, while leaving him depressed.

I am deeply pained and am sharing this here for people to advise me on the way forward to handle this case. I am ready to Sue Shola to my last penny. I will be grateful if I can get a recommendation of a good lawyer to handle this case for me, and the various authorities contacts that I can write to (such as NBA or CBN) in other to stop this rubbish and punish this level of unprofessionalism.

I also want to use this medium to indulge others who has had similar experience to share their stories, and for my nairaland family to share this story.

I never believed that such things still happens, I have heard of it, read of it and even dreamt of it.
It was not until today that I was jolted back to reality, do such love still exist (pls be d judge ).

Ok, let me go straight to the point, this actually happened to my close pal, not me.

I and my pal are serving Corp members in Taraba state (karim lamido lg), and this incident happened with one of our student, an ss3 student that is writing her waec. She is a Muslim (my guy don't rili care, except losing a limb).

Her crime is this, she wrote this unquantifiable love letter to my friend, which she divided into four chapter, she also did a love calculation in the letter (Einstein), and most importantly, she drafted this perfect queens English in d letter (lwkm).

My friend is now confused because he never expected such reply from the girl, after just telling her that she is beautiful.

Pls ooooo, read the letter below and help advise my friend on wat to do because d guy don d fear.

I have an Important Question House.

Following the heavy trend which prospective corp members work their youth service to big cities like Lagos, Abj and Ph, Does it mean that everybody in these major camp/cities influenced their Posting?

Do other people who didn't influence their posting have a chance of serving in such Cities?

Good Evening House.

1. On the issue of PCMs who paid the N4,060 earlier & are yet to receive their Callup number, the reason is that we have only processed about 60,000 plus out of the over 130,000 that have registered online. So any PCM that paid
& the payment transaction is successful will receive his/her Callup number in the next phase after processing.

2. Note that once the data of a PCM is processed, the link for 'Change of Date of Birth' will no longer be available on the dash board for the PCM to change.

3. Some PCMs have been calling to say that registration closes on the 12th Oct but they can not find the link to change their date of birth while others PCMs can. It simply means we have processed theirs & yet to process those that still have the link activated.
In any online application, once you submit, it means you are done hence we have the right to process.

4. On reported cases of 'PENDING' transaction status, its a network issue. It should deliver later but if there is deduction or debit of account and transaction failed then PCM should write providing their details to include full names, email, matric no., transaction payment reference number & day of payment.

5. On concessional request, pls go ahead & compile your secretariat's list as usual and forward to Mobilization. NOTE: Advice the members of staff to stick to the new deployment policy, which is that PCMs should no longer be deployed to their geopolitical zone. Eg. Mr. Agarra (Abia) whose daughter is part of this Batch 'C' 2014 cannot be posted to any State in South East because she is from the zone except of course on health or marital ground. This was the reason that a lot of concessional posting request failed the last time.

6. On Foreign Trained Graduates that can not find appointment date to pick for verification of their uploaded documents in DHQ Abuja hence cannot submit, this is strictly a Management Decision. I have been receiving calls in this regard. Over 5,000 Foreign trained graduates have been registered, more allotments were created such that about 250 are verified daily which necessitated that everyone must be in ground till as late as 10pm until the last PCM is verified. An additional two days had been added i.e. Monday 13th & Tuesday 14th Oct for verification which by the way is already filled up.
So in a nutshell, if Management decides to add more days or allotments, those waiting can pick a date if not I guess they will have to wait for next batch. My advice is that they should check for availability of dates periodically.

7. Finally & more importantly.
Pls forward the following:
i. Challenges you have with the present camp registration software,
ii. What do you currently use for Primary Assignment Posting
iii. What can be done to make your job easy.
iv. Also consider the fact that passport photograph must be embedded on the posting letter. Please give this (7) top priority & treat urgently. Your responses are expected as soon as possible. Kindly inform all desk officers.
