Jeremiah Gyang: Love Angel It’s been over five years since his phenomenal debut opus: ‘Na Ba Ka’ and now 2010 welcomes back soulful crooner: Jeremiah Gyang, the man who first put ‘J-town’ on the musical map of Nigeria and made Hausa music acceptable to the iPod generation . In the space of time since he’s been gone and largely off the grid, Jeremiah has travelled the world, buried his mother, introduced us to M.I and still found time to make his signature great music. While building the tempo and necessary buzz to prepare us for his sophomore LP, Jeremiah has sung a duet with Asa - ‘Comforters Song’, crafted songs for L’ami and other upcoming artistes and performed at the recent December 2009 Rhythm Unplugged Concert in Lagos. In the spirit of the Valentine season, Jeremiah has put out a free promo CD ‘The Return of Jeremiah’ which includes the new singles ‘In Love with You’, ‘Kaunar Allah (Ft. Skales) and ‘The Only One’. The tone of these songs, which evoke feelings of love, not towards the artiste but towards a lover, spouse or partner, showcases a deeper and more mature sound from the artiste/producer. The as yet untitled sophomore LP is already being touted as Jeremiah’s absolute tour de force! |
suspected Nigerian Terrorist and attempted suicide bomber has finally revealed the identity of his co-conspirators after being tortured during interrogation by American Special Agent: Jack Bauer of the Counter Terrorist Unit CTU, Los Angeles. |
Former Roc-A-Fella artiste, Beanie Sigel just released a ‘diss’ track directed at his former boss and mentor on a track called ‘Average Cat’ which is a response to the first song off the blueprint 3: ’What We Talking About’. On the song Jay-Z says “Grown men wanna sit on my lap/but I ain’t got a beard and Santa Claus ain’t Black” to which Sigel replies “I’m a grown ass man, I don’t sit on nigga’s laps and I aint looking for no gifts outta Santa Claus’ laps Santa Claus ain’t real, let alone is he black”, for the rest of the story go to www.whatsupnaija..com |
Jesse is hot when compared to the average Nigerian artiste, buy when stacked against M.I or Ice Prince, he comes in 3rd best. Simple. check out www.whatsupnaija..com for more perspectives on the Entertainment scene. |
I don't agree with that, D'jinee's always been great even while he was being managed by Chocolate City and D'jinee's influence on M.I may be more than M.I's influence on him. Djinee might be the reason most of you got to hear M.I in the first place, so please don't take his shine away, the best songs on his album have no Chocolate City influence at all, tracks like "Come Sun, Come Rain", "My Pillow" or "Forever", check out this comprehensive review of his album on www.whatsupnaija..com |

Eldee, I don't agree with you, I think Blackthought 'murdered' it for real, he was deep, lyrical, on point on flow & delivery and had even Mos Def nodding exitedly to his flow, for the full list of winners, y'all should check www.whatsupnaija..com |
Video not bad, but Teeto could have done better, check out www.whatsupnaija..com for more info |
True talk, they've become like Tuface when he was on Kennis Music, low quality videos, I think they should 'free' Sesan from directing all their videos and talk to other people, at least we still have DJ Tee, Wudi Awa, Clarence Peters, IGHO and co, but I think its a cost cutting measure on their part: Have an in-house video director and keep costs low afterall videos dont really make money and are not needed to sell albums in Nigeria. If videos contributed to album sales people like 9ice and Dbanj wont be releasing videos almost 2 years after the album dropped, for an intellectual perspective on the Naija Entertainment scene, check out www.whatsupnaija..com |

M.Speech is a dope Producer and a great Rapper too, he used to rap with TEETO CEEMOS (Da Finest, Won Berri) back in secondary school, BornStar is signed to M.Speech's label Kilari Bola Entertainment , check out www.whatsupnaija..com for more info on M.Speech, Bornstar and their new single 'Winger' |
Terry WAS creative with beats but these days just RECYCLES his previous beats. He should stick to production and leave singing alone or restrain himself and limit it to guest appearances alone cos a full album of 'copy-copy' is too much for my poor ears to bear. Yeah, we know he can only sing about himself, but its worth a listen cos it just might remind you of your own Grass to Grass story check out whatsupnaija..com for an intellectual perspective on Naija Entertainment |
Sauce Kid should know that he can't lay claim to the word 'Swagger' 'cos its auniversal hip word like 'dawg' or 'kicks' or 'shorty'. I agree its one of the most used and abused words in the Naija music industry now and Sauce should be trying to protect it but no name calling please. (whatsupnaija..com) |

I think we should wait for Kelly's interview on the subject so we could know the genesis before we start taking sides here and over-analysing. For some intelligent perspective on Naija entertainment and related issues, check out this blog www.whatsupnaija..com |
