Politics / Re: The Real Owners Of Oil Blocks In The Niger-Delta Exposed...(pics) by dmater: 12:17am On May 27, 2016
There is nothing wrong in asking for a probe into the allocation of crude oil blocs. Such exercise will reveal the real owners of the oil blocs and the manner they were awarded. It is therefore rather preposterous to descend to name-calling just to belittle any effort that will help stamp out corruption in the O&G industry.

Even the south south still has that trust issues with biafra. An Anambra man today sees himself as superior to an owerri or Enugu man not to talk of how calabar people are made mockery off.

My point is that igbos should learn how to respect even her perceived enemies and be very open and diplomatic in forging alliances to further their goals.

You should have mentioned how the Ijebus are being castigated by other Yorubas or the Northern Christian tribes being seen as lesser beings.

If I may ask: what kind of 'respect' do you mean - killing and ravaging a people's farmlands, threatening genocide on a people, destroying a people's businesses/business premises, blackmailing a people, or ganging up to ensure the reign of injustice?

Anyone can choose to have 'trust' issues to hide their motives.

Do you understand the depth of the grudges held against Awo and by extension the yourbas for the introduction of the strategic blockade that fast-paced an end to the civil war?

In the interest of self preservation, don't you think the yorubas are a little more safer with the Hausa Fulani than with biafra who has consistently shown through words and actions of likely exacting vengeance once jungle matures?

You did not respond to my question.

Do you know the depth of the grudges against Achebe and Ojukwu for their stands against injustice?

It is the absolute right of everyone or group to choose whom to tag along with. Whatever interest a group may have they should pursue it without being in the way of other people.
Even in the face of many provocations and destruction of their businesses the Igbo people have never taken up arms against the Yorubas.
Do we mention the case of threatening to drown a whole tribe in the lagoon?

You failed to point out that this same Hausa-Fulani group have consistently dealt with the Yorubas in so many ways even in Yoruba land.

You ought to know that the threats of annihilation have always come from the other camps and certainly not from the Igbo people.

Only if the igbos would stop threatening Yorubas as if they would obliterate them once biafra is achieved.

In what ways are the Igbo people threatening Yorubas as if they would obliterate them? Maybe you are using reverse psychology as a substitute for your lack of words to buttress your point.

Thanks for being a grain and exposing further arguements on the subject matter. A united south is easier and a more concieveable nation than tiny landlocked break aways if every body went state by state. Even the SS aren't keen on an alliance withe the SE. We have more in common than differences . With access to water ways and immesnse potential for industrialzation and attendant trade. The sky is the limit for a united south

With the continued carnage and bloodshed happening around it is almost certain that this country is heading nowhere. It is preposterous to even think that the proposed United South will work. Past and current events in the country should give a hint that the United South as a proposed country is a farce.

Just take a glance at various comments posted daily on Nairaland; even when some folks know that something is bad and evil they would still support it to spite a supposed enemy.

In a referendum, all you have is a vote and so is the other fellow. Let every group of people answer for themselves.

Just accept your fate and trudge on, for you have no right to impose your selfish ways of life on others. And it shouldn't call for hatred or bitterness.

@calaharry, your unfounded fabrications is easily seen as a follow up to the numerous efforts in futility aimed at stopping the movement for self determination.

The 2015 general elections will give you a hint about how united Ndi Igbo can be in achieving their goals.

In terms of education and enlightenment the Ndi Igbo are amongst the best in the world. The same reason their protests have been largely peaceful and world-class.

It is not wise to determine for Ndi Igbo how to live their lives by making them prepare their beds according to your pattern.

And if you can put some of your efforts in addressing the myriads of problems confronting your people your people will be better off for it.

That notwithstanding the ugly incident of Deji of Akure going all out to humiliate an Igbo leader in Akure cannot be explained away.

Agbami is one large field operated by chevron in the Igbokoda/Ilaje area of Ondo State and its a large one at that.

Yet its not the only one as I know mobil also operates in the area.
So ........

While I see sense if LADOL's yard had been in the Niger Delta.
But people don't start such ventures without serious pre-feasibility analysis.
So who blames a businessman for siting his business where he desires and is assured of better returns?

Agbami field is located in nearly 1,500 meters (4,900 ft) of water off the central Niger Delta. The operator of the field is Star Deep Water Limited, an affiliate of Chevron. Also involved in the field are Famfa Oil, an indigenous oil company owned by the Alakija Family of Lagos, Petrobras (Brazil), Statoil, and NNPC (the national oil company of Nigeria).

It was discovered in late 1998 and the second major deepwater oil field discovered off the Niger Delta; the first being Bonga Field by Shell.

Agbami's output is about 250,000 BOPD.

Politics / Re: Nnamdi Kanu Made A Big Mistake. by dmater: 9:21pm On Jan 29, 2016
A system that is setup to breed hatred, jealousy and distrust is bound to fail. And there is no force on that can stop an idea that has come to fruition.

Yesterday they claimed that the BFR struggle was an online affairs and that Kanu was a fraud enjoying life in UK instead of coming down to Nigeria to champion the cause.

Today the same charlatans are singing a different song of how Kanu should have stayed back in UK and not risked being imprisoned.

These people still maintained that the whole idea is a fraud by businessmen to fleece the gullible and yet Kanu has refused their enticement and inducements in prison and even opted to remain behind bars. The pitiable minions have continued to chant death to Kanu albeit out of the fear of what awaits them in the nearest future.

The powers that be have allocated huge amounts to hire agents for propaganda and fabrication of evil reports. They have done paid adverts using hired interest groups. This evil politics is bound to fail.

Indeed some people have no shame at all. Little wonder they are called integrity-challenged charlatans.
Politics / Re: Kanu Bail Denial ; The Reasons Given By The Judge. The Cable. by dmater: 4:56pm On Jan 29, 2016
The quest for nationhood is never a foolish idea as being portrayed by some minions.

Just like human right self-determination is an inalienable right of a people.

The government has no credible evidence of treasonable felony against Kanu. The arrest and subsequent detention of Kanu has taken the struggle to international level.

The government and its agents are yet to come to terms how a man can influence tens of millions of people without money. Even in detention his popularity and that of the struggle soar high.

The government and its paid agents can sway the case as they wish. The media trials can continue but Kanu as a person is determined to pay the ultimate price if need be. Which ever way the case is turned victory is sure for Kanu and his quest. Evil wishes of foes cannot deny him victory at last.

The hospital in front of the Local Govt? The Yoruba man even named his kids Ibo names I think he is from Ondo or Ekiti

The men of Ahiazu are the most lazy I have ever seen. Its the girls who go to school hoping to flee to Yorubaland upon graduation.

The place is filled with old people. Most of the villages in Umu okrika is connected by bushpath

There is usually acute water shortage in dry season most ppl there put funnels on the roof to collect rain water into a pit which they use in dry season

The Afor-oru market is filled with vultures which I heard the people eat

The hospital is indeed located opposite the LGA secretariat.
You cannot dispute the fact that many old people retire to their villages. And the issue is not peculiar to Ahiazu.

Before the proliferation of bore-holes the people built large reservoirs of under-ground, concrete tanks to collect rain water during the wet season. Such concrete tanks are quite expensive to build for the ordinary man.
At present that practice is no longer in vogue.

It is still the Mbaise men and artisans that own and control the various businesses, the mechanic workshops, electrical workshops, abattoirs, petrol filling stations. Just like the women the men in that area cannot be termed lazy.

Many of the men are great hustlers who seek greener pastures in Gabon, Cameroon, Calabar, Port-Harcourt and some other cities.

Some prominent Nollywood actors and actresses are from Mbaise - Rita Dominic, Genevieve Nnaji, K.O.K, Okey Bakassi etc. The last Foreign Affairs minister in the last dispensation hails from there.

In Igboland the Mbaise people are generally known for their smartness, astuteness and boldness. Gullible people are scarce amongst them and they are difficult to be cheated upon.

Note that the Great Ahiara Declaration by Ojukwu in 1967 took place in that area. You are bound to find the BFR flags and insignias in some nook and cranny of the land. That will tell you how passionate and ambitious the people can be.

You can confirm the aforestated information.

@ raumdeuter

There are numerus boreholes available in Ahiazu-Mbaise for the villagers. Some villagers still make do with stream water for washing.

The Afor-Oru, Afor-Ogbe, Nkwo-Ala and some other markets in that axis are beehive of activities on their market days, attracting traders from far and near. The market days are usually inundated with much vehicular traffic making the roads almost impassable.

The commodities found in these markets ranges from farm produce, house items to industrial wares. There are also abattoirs.

There is a hospital owned by a Yoruba man in that vicinity. The hospital is located between Afor-Oru market and Nkwo-Ala market.

Ahiara junction is a busy business area with banks, bus terminus and garages.
Ahiara junction is a 4-way interconnection of roads from Owerri to Umuahia and from Ngor-Okpala to Ehime-Mbano (Aba branch).

The LGA is littered with business men and women and many artisans. You can find petrol filling stations, mechanic workshops.

This is the little I can remember about the place. Feel free to confirm the aforementioned places and facts.

All that prompted this story and many others is simple: that many Igbo people are now determined to self-determine their future. This desperation of 'BFR is dead' soothsayers has really assumed an alarming rate. This is sickening.

There are untold discriminations within groups, assassinations of poltical opponents and ethnic cleansing currently happening in certain parts of the country. Igbo people do not have a hand in the ethnic cleansing going on in these parts of the country. Igbo people are no herdsmen terrorising villagers and farmers in the country. Igbo people cannot be blamed for Sharia practice, under-age marriages and Boko Haram.

Igbo people did not instigate the Warri crises or the Western crisis of 1960s. Igbo people are not responsible for Ife and Modakeke conflict. Igbo people did not contribute to the Yoruba and Nupe confict earlier in the year that claimed lives and had 50 houses burnt.

Igbo people are not responsible for bad governance in the country. Igbo people cannot be blamed for the bastardization and rape of the Nigerian economy. Igbo people are not responsible for the bankruptcy of your States. There is no how Igbo people can be responsible for the woes of other tribes in the country.

In summary, you have no right to dictate for Igbo people how to live when you and your people are not better off.

A repeat broadcast on the same topic earlier today:

You wake up early in the morning and all that is in your mind is Igbo people and what to write against them. And your own people are barely existing and some of them depend on the same Igbo people for sustenance.

You are not concerned about the diseases, poverty and crass ignorance ravaging your people. You are not concerned about how your people allow thugs to rule over them. You do not mind that criminals are your leaders. You are not bothered much that you can wake the next day to find your community wiped out of existence by some invaders. All you and your people are bothered with is Igbo, Igbo and Igbo.

You make up essays claiming to be Igbo. To you impersonating Igbo people will go a long way in adding some credibility and spice to your fabrications. You proceed to duplicate the same post over and over again in the media because your mind tells you you have not made the desired effect with the first post. Something tells you are chasing the wind. But somehow you think your misery will go away with such desperation.

You go search for more stories of those claiming Igbo for another round of ill broadcast. Your day is just not complete without mentioning Igbo. You go to bed thinking Igbo people because they are determined to forge a future for themselves while you fear to be abandoned to your fate. The same people you do not see any good in them. The same people you spend so much resources to castigate with falsehood. The same people you assure yourselves bring no value to the system.

Your over bloated ego and myopism have not allowed you to pause and have a rethink that the same Igbo people are better of than you. You cannot dictate for another how to live when you are barely existing. Your daily vituperations against Igbo people is borne out of frustration. Your desperation is visible to the blind and audible to the deaf. You need to help yourself before you wreck your life and generation.

It is becoming increasingly ridiculous the manner the 'BFR is dead' chanters put forward a thousand and one reasons why the quest for nationhood will not succeed.

You boast that Igbo people have no crude oil. You assure yourselves that Igbo people are mainly concerned about South-south oil even when there are indigenous Igbos in South-south. You even console yourselves that Igbo people do not add value to the system. You spread evil news. You attempt threats - of war, starvation, properties confiscation, forfeiture of resident permit. You have concluded that Igbo people cannot survive as a nation.

With all the many negative wishes you have got you are still not satisfied that your prophecies are enough deterrent to the emergence of a new nation.

Every day the cycle of evil tidyings is repeated in different ways in the media to give yourselves a false sense of fulfilment that you're making progress to stop the emergence of BFR. But then frustration and its resultant consequences are waiting down the line just because you have wished to dictate how another people live when it is evident that you are barely existing.
