FamilyRe: When Is The Right Time To Talk To Kids About SEX? by Dmentor(f): 11:37pm On Aug 02, 2013
Many of us were not told anything by our parents. Many adults learnt from their own experiences.
From the age of three, a parent should start preparing a child against molestation. Tailor the discussion to suit the child's age. It's important at this stage to educate him/her on those parts of the body that should be private to him/her. Ask the child to inform you whenever any 'uncle' or 'auntie' touches any of those parts.

That way, you have equipped him/her with the right to protect his/her body. That also opens the door of conversation between two of you. As the child gets older,he/she will not be afraid to talk to you about his/her challenges.

Because most parents have never mentioned the issue of sex to their kids, these kids naturally do not inform them about their day to day challenges. Instead, they discuss them with their equally unequipped peers.
The result? Your guess is as good as mine!
FamilyRe: Under-aged Bride Kills Husband Over Hyperactive Libido In Plateau by Dmentor(f): 11:14pm On Aug 02, 2013
That's the bad side of early marriage. The wife is still a child. Did you hear her? She just wants to go home. She doesn't even know the implications of the crime that she had committed.
Senators for early marriage, beware!

FamilyRe: Parental Guide: Bringing Up A Child by Dmentor(f): 5:50am On Nov 05, 2010
Parenting is a serious business that requires a lot of skills. Good parenting calls for good parenting skills.  Good parental guide is prerequisite to bringing up a child properly. This however, requires that a parent has the right values which she can inculcate to the young one. Remember, you cannot give what you do not have. Every parent needs to be a friend and a role model to her growing child. The use of cane may not achieve much where ever those two are lacking.
