Had the same problem even my Uncle in the states went to different western union agent in CA but they kept saying the payment can't be made via western union but at the end he make use of cashier check which was very fast and the following day i printed out my online receipt but guess what the hard copy was been delivered to me yesterday via DHL. So if you wouldn't mind tell your Aunt to use the same method because i can see its far better than that of western union.

Don't know if i can go for my interview with exact statement of account i sent to my school for admission because its been over 1 week now since my dad travel out of town and bank won't give me another print out on his behalf. House please i need your advise on maybe i can go with the statement of account printed out for my admission processing or i should wait till when my dad will come back and he won't be back until end of this month.

Your Sponsor should be the one to fill in if atall your mom is going to pay for your trip.

House please i'm preparing to go for my interview this Nov. but there is a question which has been bothering my mind lately which i will like you guys to give me an advice on and the question is about my dad's bank statement which i will be presenting on that day. The bank statement was printed out on the 6th of Oct for my admission processing and we are now in Nov, my question now is, can i still go ahead with the statement or my dad should go get a new one?

I think Nov. Is the only available month for now.

Don't be discourage Bro but I got to tell you this, God factor is needed and I hope you understand what I'm trying to say. I believe you will definitely get what you want next time if you don't give up and also try to work on the main reason why you chose UT. I believe with God all things are. Gurus in da house. Can I reapply by the end of this week? I was been frustrated by the VO because she kept on interrupting me anytime I try to give an answer to a question that demands an explanation. In the end she said I was not able to convince her and she gave me a white paper and passport and said, “the reason for my refusal is on that white paper. She did not look at any of my documents apart from my receipt. Below is how the interview went:

ME: Good morning
VO: your receipts and passport
ME: I gave her my receipt, I -20, and passport
VO: Where are you going?
ME: The university of Texas at Dallas
VO: Why UT Dallas?
ME: The University of Texas at Dallas provides research opportunities…………….. she did not let me complete my answer and she interrupted me
VO: Sir don’t tell me what you have already rehearsed, I want to hear your own reasons
ME: The Electrical Engineering programs at UT Dallas provides a solid………………….. she did not let me complete and she interrupted me again
VO: Sir don’t tell me what you have already rehearsed, you are pissing me off, give me your own reasons.
VO: How many schools did you apply?
ME: Only UT Dallas
VO: When did you complete High School?
ME: 2005
VO: What have you been doing with your life for the past seven years?
ME: I furthered my education at Yaba Polytechnic and obtained an HND in Electrical/Electronic Engineering

The VO typed something on her computer and told me, ” you have not been able to convince me, the reason for your refusal is explained on this paper”. And she gave me a white sheet and my passport.
Please why did she interrupted me frequently?

Was my approach on how I answered the questions not the best?

Filling my DS-160 but i'm somehow confused at this stage where they ask about my Present Work/Education/Training Information. Please house can anybody tell me what to chose at the point because i graduated from high school in 2009 and have been doing a voluntary job at my dad's company since 2010 which means i don't recieve salary but use to get some kind of compensation. Can i select not employed or student? So pleas help me my fellow nairalanders on what to chose in this part. thanks

I chose XYZ uni because the school offers an Intelligence cognate which combines the key elements of Computer Science with the skills needed to needed for work in the intelligence community and this will prepares me to serve my great country Nigeria in the Intelligence and Security Sectors.

Going for my interview soon but one thing is that I applied to only one uni. And its a private christian university. Now my question is,if the VO ask me that why the school? Can I just say I choose it because its a private christian university and going for my undergraduate studies there will help me become knowledgeable about my future career and my relationship with God.
Or can I say, XYZ Uni is an amazing university for students who what to excel academically as well as grow spiritually.
Or can I also say that I choose this uni becos I will be getting an outstanding academic education in my major and I will also be giving the spiritual part of my life a chance to grow.
House please let me know which of the three reasons I listed above you think would suit the answer and any contributions will be highly welcome. Thanks
