According to report, Nkem Okeke complained that his official cars are already bad and that all his appeals for them to be replaced have been refused.

A source said that sometimes the Deputy Governor's convoy will break down on the road and the gentleman and calm deputy will have come down and wait for it to be ficlxed before he continues his journey.

Ritualists kill another UNIBEN student in Anambra hotel

Miss Chinenye Promise Nwoye, a 200-level female student of University of Benin, has been murdered by suspected ritualists popularly known as ‘Yahoo Boys’ at a hotel in Abagana, Njikoka local government area of Anambra state.

Orient Weekend gathered that the victim, who hails from Iruokpala village, Abba in Njikoka local government area of the state was lured to the hotel and allegedly paid N5,000 for the room where her killers committed the act on Thursday, August 27, 2020.

This paper gathered that one of the suspected killers of the Religious Education undergraduate, has been apprehended and detained at the state police headquarters, Awka, while the corpse has been deposited at a morgue in Nimo.

According to the deceased’s mother, the 19-year-old, who was forced to return home due to the coronavirus pandemic, was undergoing a computer training course at Orie-Abagana, when she met her killers. Mrs Nwoye recalled her last phone call conversation with her daughter that fateful Thursday, when she failed to return from the programme.

“I called her on phone, it was ringing; but not picking. I called repeatedly until she picked, with a tone as if she was speaking under someone’s command and in pains. She told me to bring her ATM code number to her at Akuu Hotel, as if she was kidnapped and immediately the phone was forcefully cut off.

Nollywood director, security guard arrested in Delta for murder

The Police in Delta State has arrested one Nonso Ekene, a Nollywood Director and a security guard, Mr Isaac Sunday, in connection with the murder of a 36 years old lady, Miss Obiageli Onekanse.

The deceased, an indigene of Ukwu–Nzu, community, Aniocha North Local Government Area of the state, was gathered, lived with the duo at No. 4 Anene street by the Cenotaph, at the High Court axis of the GRA, Asaba,  until two weeks ago when she was declared missing.

Until her death, the deceased was said to be into event planning and decoration of venues.
Bubble, however, burst last week when someone who knew about the missing lady spotted the security guard with her AVALON saloon car at the Rainoil filling station by Summit junction and alerted the Sirki who contracted him for the security job.

APC Imo state has gone into a new crisis over by-election

Today the party had a primary election for a by-election of Imo north senatorial zone to replace late Senator Benjamin Uwajumogu.

The by-election has been slated by INEC to hold on October 31. But the feud between the camp of Gov Hope Uzodimma and that of Rochas Okorocha has produced two candidates.

While the camp of Hope Uzodimma declared one Frank Ibezim winner, Chief Dan Nwafor led faction of APC loyal to ex governor Okorocha declared Ifeanyi Ararume winner.

Frank Ibezim is a loyalist of Hon EMEKA Nwajiuba, minister of state for Education. It is believed that Dauglas House needs the Abuja contact of Nwajiuba to overcome the political challenges within APC.

REVEALED: the suspension of the 12 Anambra Monarchs is illegal according to Section 10 (1) of ANHA/LAW/2007/07

The suspension of the 12 traditional rulers from Anambra state who accompanied Prince Engr Arthur Eze to meet with President Buhari to thank him for the upgrading of infrastructure in southeast such as the 2nd Niger bridge, Enugu International Airport etc, is illegal.

AIF Media investigation shows that gov Obiano did not follow due process in suspending the Igwes. In our painstaking investigation, AIF Media gathered that for the governor to suspend or withdraw the certificate of recognition issued to any traditional ruler in the state, he must seek the approval from the state House of Assembly.

According to the Anambra State Traditional Rulers Law passed and gazzetted by the state assembly in 2007, section 10, subsection (1) of the law states thus:

"Notwithstanding anything contained in this law, the governor shall with the approval of 2/3 majority of the House of Assembly withdraw the recognition of a recognised traditional ruler if the governor is satisified that such suspension or withdrawal is:
(a) necessary having regards to the code of conduct required by the customary law existing between the traditional ruler and the town or community which he represents; or
(b) necessary in the interest of peace, order and good governance.

Sequel to the above, gov Obiano erred by suspending the 12 monarchs unilaterally without the approval by 2/3 majority of members of the House of Assembly.

And without the approval of the 2/3 majority of the state assembly, the suspension can not hold. The 12 Igwes are deemed not to have been suspended because the due process as provided for in the Traditional Rulers Law 2007 was not followed.

Again, the Law in section 9 subsection 2 states that any traditional ruler who was suspended or his certificate withdrawn that such traditional ruler has only a month from the date of his suspension to surrender the certificate to the secretary of his local govt area.

But in the case of the 12 Igwes, they have not returned their certificates of recognition to their local govt areas because their purported suspension was illegal. And without the return of the certificate of recognition, they remain in their throne, that's what the law says.

Oyo Serial Killer: How I Escaped From Police Custody

Suspected serial killer, Sunday Shodipe, has narrated how he escaped from Mokola Police Station, the suspect said a female Divisional Police Officer, who was recently deployed to the station ordered one officer (Funsho) to allow him to take his bath.
He said the officer had warned him not to make any attempt to escape while taking his bath, adding that he was not even thinking of running away at that point.

When it comes to fashion Anambra State Governor, Willie Obiano is fearless. From dressing like a boy scout to his regular appearance with APGA-branded Ankara clothes, he always tries something new and this has raised questions about his fashion sense.

While hosting former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, in the Anambra Government House a few days ago, Obiano was pictured wearing a distressed jeans trouser that sparked mixed reactions on social media.

Some didn’t see anything wrong in the style, but quite number of people felt it wasn’t age-appropriate or befitting of a governor who was also a former banker.

Some called him a ‘farmer’, ‘hunter’ – even a ‘Marlian’ – in reference to the movement created by hip-hop star Naira Marley.

Although the social media fashion police didn’t get a response from Obiano, he might have taken into account all that were said about him and probably work on it.
