Senator Ike Ekweremadu has been in the corridor of power since 1999. He has served in various capacities in both state and national levels. In all his political pursuits, ndi Enugu and indeed Ndigbo have always come out to support him.

The major problem Senator Ekweremadu has is greed. He would like ndi Enugu and Ndigbo to support him to attain a higher political position, but he wouldn't want to support others win any political position higher than his.

He belongs to the politics of, "it must be me."

When Ekweremadu went to senate in 2003, the seat of the Senate president was zoned to southeast. Even as a first time senator, he indicated interest to become the Senate president. He didn't want to support another high ranking igbo senator, he wanted to bulldoze his way, despite the unofficial understanding that a senate president will come from high ranking members.

In 2007, the deputy senate president was zoned to southeast, Ekweremadu came out and Ndigbo overwhelmingly backed him. He became the deputy senate president from 2007 to 2019.

In 2019, PDP zoned Vice Presidential slot to southeast and again Ike showed interest. He smartly mobilised the southeast caucus of the national assembly to endorse him as the choice of Ndigbo for the position of the vice president. Unfortunately for him, the PDP presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar after due diligence, picked Mr Peter Obi, the former governor of Anambra state.

Obi's choice was roundly rejected by most Igbo leaders. Ekweremadu mobilized them to reject him. It took various interventions with back and forth politics for these Igbo leaders to accept Obi's nomination.

Enugu State has zoned its 2023 guber ticket to Enugu East Senatorial Zone. Senator Ekweremadu is at it again. He has shown interest to contest the Governorship election of the state even when it is not the turn of his zone. His interest is causing serious decision and creating political tension in the state. But he doesn't care, it is either him or nobody.

In 2015, he did same to the then governor Sullivan Chime. In an interview the ex governor granted to the Sun newspaper on November 2018, this is what he said about Ike Ekweremadu.

"I was the leader and I took a decision (to pick my successor from Nsukka senatorial zone), which was very easy to sell. Everybody that heard it supported that decision. Incidentally, I didn’t know my senator (Ike Ekweremadu) was actually warming up to be governor and when he heard that pronouncement, everywhere; every paper was full of attacks from him, attacking me, saying when did they reach such decision?

"Of course, I ignored him. In 2015, he wanted to go back to the senate and wanted a situation where I will be asked to either allow him to be governor or choose the governor and allow him to go back to the senate. I called his bluff. I had a good understanding with the president, with the then National Chairman of the party, Adamu Mu’azu, so he hadn’t have access to those people and he became frustrated and he ganged up with members of the National Assembly to cause trouble in Enugu State.

"They had few friends with members of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party. That was when PDP was really having problem. You take decision in the state and one clown at the NWC will change it; cause confusion. It wasn’t easy for him. So, that was when that idea came up that I was going to the senate, but I didn’t buy any form; I didn’t do any of that. They floated that just to bring him back to his senses.

"So, he came to me and he pleaded and I gave it up, I told him it was not a do-or-die affair, but for him to go to the senate he must abandon his colleagues and immediately he did it, all the people he had planned with to cause trouble, that was how he was able to go back."

Ex governor Sullivan Chime said it all in the interview above published on November 23, 2018 in the Sun Newspaper. Senator Ike Ekweremadu sees Enugu state as his political fortress. If it is not him, he will always gang up to cause crisis in the state.

As 2023 approaches, ndi Enugu must watch it. The zoning arrangement in the state favours Enugu East Senatorial Zone and all political structures in the state are already moving towards producing a governor from the zone.

Those against the zoning are mere detractors who always gang up against the state and cause confusion. Like in 2015, these detractors will later abandon their co travellers and settle for something else.

INEC has officially declared Prof Charles Chukwuma Soludo of APGA as the winner of the November 6 Anambra state governorship election but we shall condemn the role of INEC in the outcome of this election.

INEC acted in a suspicious manner. It is unfortunate that INEC could not protect their own. In 2019, a returning officer came out to announce that he was forced under gun point to announce ex gov Rochas Okorocha as the winner of the Imo west senatorial election. INEC rose to the occasion, refused to accept the result and withheld the certificate of return to Rochas Okorocha.

INEC said declaration and return of Okorocha were made under duress and that the commission would not give any certificate to any person who procured a return under duress.

In the just included Anambra election, the returning officer for Orumba north LGA, Dr. Michael Otu, stunned stakeholders at the Anambra State governorship election collation centre on Sunday when he denounced the result he signed. He said he did not believe in the result. He accused the electoral officer that was supposed to work with him of collaborating with APGA officials to scuttle the election results in the area.

Dr Otu said, “I signed a report I didn’t believe in. I signed it under duress. I was teargassed. I was locked in the toilet, until a policeman smuggled me out.

“I could not even go out to ease myself. They were monitoring me up and down. At a point, I saw that my life waS in danger, so, I have to sign the results they prepared."

Anambra Guber: Universal Prayer Fellowship, Christian Association of Nigeria, (CAN) hold special prayer session

Ahead of the November 6 Anambra governorship election, the Universal Prayer Fellowship (UPF) in conjunction with Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) old Aguata local government area Anambra State, has organised a special prayer session themed Sustaining “The Light of the Nation” through effectual intercession for hitch-free and peaceful polls in the state.


PREAMBLE:
On the heels of the scheduled Anambra State Governorship election on November 6, 2021, there came an explicit insight through Divine revelation showing that the forthcoming exercise has something to do with the corporate destiny and future of our country, Nigeria.

Considering the critical nature of what is at stake, we initiated an intercessory prayer programme as a matter of exigency. Thus, we hereby place an emphatic universal clarion call to all concerned to collectively put all hands on deck - leaving no stone unturned for us not to miss it, otherwise Nigeria will be consequently injured fatally.

THE DECLARATIONS:

In absolute obedience to a privileged instruction/leading following the revelation referred to above, the entire old Aguata LGA Christian Community held a spirit - filled prayer meeting with the following SOLEMN DECLARATIONS:

1. That as "The light of the Nation" which Anambra literally represents, it is not a coincidence that the state is a standard bearer, a pacesetter, trail blazer and a typical example of what a composite state of Nigerian Federation should be.

2. That being an apple of God's eye of a state, the grace, providence and power of the Almighty God will ever be present to overshadow the entire process of the forthcoming election, followed by a smooth transition to a new administration.

3. That the quality of the conduct of the election will reflect an exceptional general improvement, and thereby, post an unusual credibility record that would revolutionize future electioneering processes nationwide.

4. That though certain traditional elements of disorder and habitual enemies of peace and progress would likely choose to forment crisis, the overpowering influence of the Lord God Almighty's presence shall supernaturally contain and neutralize their excesses, to their own chagrin.

5. That all shades of usual electoral manipulations, impunities and diverse malpractices shall this time not prosper against the Divine will of the Lord God Almighty and the popular will of Ndi Anambra.

6. That no electoral violence or electoral - induced crime shall be recorded in the course of the voting exercise statewide.

7. That the electorate would be sensitively emboldened with resolute interest to act as watchdog over the general operations and conduct of the officials of the Electoral Umpire, INEC.

8. That an atmosphere of absolute freedom shall prevail in the course of the voting, devoid of harassment, intimidation, threat and inducement of any sort, enabling individual free - voting decision.

9. Whereas the presence of the law enforcement agents, (Police, Army, Civil Defence, etc.) shall usually be necessary, they are bound to perform above board with professional and global best practice.

10. That apparent level playing field shall be availed by the Electoral Umpire to individual candidates and political parties across board. No particular candidate or political party shall be seen to be more important or relevant than the others.

11. That there shall be a distinct and profound electoral victory by the very best candidate approved by God and graciously acceptable to the generality of Ndi Anambra.

12. That all candidates and political parties are regarded to be of sound mind, conscience and conduct until anyone proves otherwise. Meanwhile, we do not need to over emphasize the absolute fact, that while one may out of his or her free will as a free moral agent choose to negate any/all of the aforementioned declarations for parochial, selfish evil intent and purpose, one should invariably take note that, while he or she may seem to have his or her way temporarily, he or she risk bearing the consequences of eternal misery, in hundred fold, here and hereafter.

SO HELP US LORD GOD ALMIGHTY.

Anambra christian groups offer special prayers for peaceful Anambra governorship election

A PRESS RELEASE BY THE UNIVERSAL PRAYER FELLOWSHIP AND THE CHRISTIAN ASSOCIATION OF NIGERIA, CAN, OLD AGUATA LGA.

Anambra State will elect a new governor on Saturday November 6, 2021. Many people have become genuinely worried and upbeat, considering the prevalent insecurity in the state.

To seek the face of God and ensure that the Anambra election turns out peaceful, credible and in tandem with the will of Ndi Anambra, the Universal Prayer Fellowship led by Evangelist Iwuchukwu Ezenwafor and the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, OLD AGUATA LGA, led by Apostle Dr. Chukwuemeka P. Anambra Poll: 35 Anambra Youth Associations Endorse AAC Candidate, Dr Chidozie Nwankwo

History was made again yesterday at the Events Centre of Nobles Hotels, Awka, where 35 Youth Organizations thronged the Centre to endorse Dr. Chidozie Nwankwo, the candidate of the African Action Congress, as their preferred candidate in the Anambra Governorship Election coming up on Saturday November 6, 2021.

The endorsement coming in the heels of the royal endorsement by Traditional Rulers from the Anambra Central Senatorial Zone, has combined to make Dr. Chidozie Nwankwo the candidate to beat in the Anambra guber election.

Speaking to journalists yesterday at the event, the leader and Spokesperson of the Associations, Dr. John Nwabueze, said that, the antecedents of Dr. Nwankwo clearly showed that he is well prepared for the leadership of Anambra State in particular and Igboland in general.

The Youth Associations described Dr. Nwankwo as a master planner, who in private capacity created five world class industries and urged him to replicate this phenomenal success in the state when he becomes the governor.

You will recall that during the Anambra Gubernatorial Debate, Charles Soludo denied that Sen. Andy Uba ever head anything to do with his appointment. He went ahead to mock him and call him a shoe shinner, masseur and made other derogatory innuendos.

Royal Fathers from the Anambra Central Senatorial Zone, yesterday October 28, 2021, endorsed the governorship candidate of the Action Alliance Congress, AAC, Dr. Chidozie Nwankwo.

Dr. Nwankwo was received by the Traditional Rulers at the palace of His Royal Majesty, Igwe P.N. Anuku, Igwe Mbaukwu. Opening prayers on the occasion were offered by His Royal Majesty, Igwe Ngene, the traditional ruler of Nibo town, who invoked ancestral blessings of the traditional stools upon Dr. Nwankwo.

The traditional breaking of kolanut and the attendant royal blessings upon Dr. Chidozie Nwankwo was conducted by HRM, Igwe R. N. Iloh, the Ise of Nise Ancient Kingdom.

On behalf of the Anambra Central Traditional Rulers Council, the chairman of the Senatorial Council of traditional Rulers, His Royal Highness, Igwe C.N.C. Akwaeze praised Dr. Nwankwo for the activities of his Kingdom Care Foundation, KCF, which has uplifted thousands of people across the 21 LGAs of the state, many years before his present ambition to contest the governorship of the state.

Earlier, HRM Igwe P. N. Anuku, Igwe Mbaukwu had described Dr. Chidozie Nwankwo as a very solid business man, who has invested years of personal success into helping the less privileged. Igwe Anuku alluded to his famed personal relationship with the late Vice President of the Federal Republic, Dr. Alex Ekwueme, who is also from the same town of Oko in Aguata LGA as Dr. Nwankwo. Igwe Anuku promised to give Dr. Nwankwo the same support he gave Dr. Ekwueme.

In his speech, Dr. Chidozie Nwankwo attributed inspiration from God as the only reason why he is offering himself for service. He said that as Governor, he would create a new Anambra State, where he would use his personal experience and success in business to create a new business hub in the state, which will usher in the golden opportunity of economic and industrial transformation, where every Anambra person will have opportunity to become somebody.

With five functional factories built across Nigeria and 5000 people employed in the factories, Dr. Nwankwo said that he is extremely proud that out of the 5000 people employed in his factories, more than 3000 are from Anambra State.

Dr. Nwankwo however insisted that he is not desperate to become governor but only desperate to see imminent changes in Anambra State in particular and Igboland in general. According to him, Anambra State is the responsibility of our time and therefore, all hands must be on deck to ensure, that only the right people with the right experience and financial and managerial acumen will be voted for on November 6, 2021.

Dr. Nwankwo vowed to bring back honesty and integrity into government business if he is elected governor, just as he promised to build industrial parks that would catalyze Anambra's industrial revolution and transform Anambra State into the Japan of Africa.

Twenty one traditional Rulers from Anambra Central Senatorial Zone attended the event and praying for Dr. Nwankwo's success on November 6, HRM, Chris Emeka Nna -Egbuna, JP, Iga 11 of Ebenebe, prayed God to make it possible that an accomplished business man, with outstanding milk of human kindness as Dr. Chidozie Nwankwo will become the next governor of Anambra State.

It has come to the knowledge of the above named concerned group that the Enugu State Commissioner for lands, in the person of Hon. Victor Nnam has resigned his appointment. Citing removal of professional heads of department under his office as reasons.

We as Concerned Stakeholders hereby wish to let the general public, the Executive Governor of Enugu State and indeed the members of the Enugu State House of Assembly to know that the so called professionals as described by the now former Commissioner are nothing but stooges which the run away Commissioner uses in perpetrating his shoddy dealings under his ministry.

Governor Obiano gave the explanation in a statement issued to newsmen by his media aide, James Eze.


The Governor of Anambra state, Willie Obiano has explained why he supported President Buhari in the presidential election which held on Saturday, February 23, 2019.

Obiano said that he foresaw Buhari’s victory and knew that it will be impossible to beat the President.

It was like a dream as the entire Stakeholders of Idemmili North and South Local Government Areas also known as Ide Nna stormed Ngozika Estate, Awka yesternight being the 20th of October 2021 converged and enjoined the Accord Party Deputy Governorship Candidate Chief Obi Kenneth Ifeatu to pledge his loyalty and support to the Distinguished Senator Dr Andy Uba MFR, the Gubernatorial Candidate of APC.

He also joined the wind of the progressives, picked up the Broom of Change and promised to work assiduously in making sure that Sen. Uba wins the November 6th Governorship Election in Ide Nna and environs. According to him, I have never witnessed such acceptability of a Candidate in Anambra political system, hence Sen. Andy Uba.
