Students of the University of Benin have designed a peculiar banner to celebrate the exit of the Vice Chancellor, Professor Faraday Orunmwense.

The aggrieved students referred to the outgoing VC as a mischievous tryrant and went on to list his ‘achievements’ which were unflattering to say the least.

Power drunkenness
And more…


Speaking with Dockaysworld, a 300 level accounting student of the institution who pleaded anonymity, expressed joy on the exit of the former Vice chancellor.

she said;

"I'm so happy that he(F.O Orunwense) is leaving for good, at least every student can have peace of mind, since he came into power it has been from one problem to another.

"If its not water problem, it will be light or increase in school fees and cult fight, am tired of the issues i'm facing in this school 'sef'.
"I don't even know if we have a student government in this school again"

On her thoughts on the incoming female VC, She said;

"I don't know much about her, but i pray she doesn't turn out to be like the former one, although i heard she is nice at education faculty where she came from"

Meanwhile, Professor Mrs. Salami is set to take over the post of the VC today, 2nd of December, making her the second woman to occupy the position after Grace Alele Williams.

Recall that Dockaysworld had reported the shooting of a student during the erriga’s motivation concert which held at popular Hall 2 car park inside campus, and also the similar death of a 200 level EMT student of the institution identified as Moses Adeshina, aka Aficionado, who was murdered in cold blood inside the school premises on the 1st of November 2019, still during the tenure of the outgoing Orumwense.

Former deputy national publicity secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Timi Frank, has gifted Nollywood actress, Tonto Dikeh, a new diamond encrusted Audemars Piguet (AP) wristwatch.

Popular American singer and rising star Billie Eilish, has been spotted singing along to Nigerian singer Tekno’s ‘agege’ song somewhere in America.

The idle star seemed to be enjoying her day as she took to her IG stories to share the video of herself moving and singing along to the hit song.

Tekno who is not in the country at the moment had shared the video on his own IG stories and captioned it with love emojis.


This joins a growing trend of celebrities from other countries jamming to Nigerian music including Rihanna spiritedly requesting a Burna Boy song recently amongst other examples.

200 level EMT student of the University of Benin, UNIBEN, identified as Moses Ogbornida Adeshina popularly known as Afficionado, has been laid to rest today, 6th of November, 2019.

The popular hypeman was shot and killed in a suspected cultist reprisal attack at the final year week celebrations at the Faculty of Arts on campus, Dockaysworld gathered.

Friends, family and coursemates had come for his burial and laid him to rest amidst tears and mourning.

His body left the University of Benin teaching hospital and was transported to 3rd cemetery where he was interred.

Aficionado was also a popular tutor in the school and reportedly 21 years of age when he passed away.

The richest man in Africa, Aliko Dangote has promised to build a hostel in Ambrose Alli University at the School's convocation ceremony.

According to Dockaysworld correspondent, the university’s convocation which held today had the billionaire and other top dignitaries in attendance.

The Niger state government has also donated N10 million to the school.

Meanwhile, Edo state Governor Godwin Obaseki, during his speech at the event, asked the Federal Government of Nigeria to hand over the Benin/Auchi road construction to his administration.

He also promised a 24/7 electricity supply to the school soon.

A 400 level student of the University of Benin (UNIBEN), has reportedly collapsed after drinking a contaminated bottle of coke he bought at the school ‘s food court popularly known as ‘Buka‘.

Dockaysworld gathered that the affected student had drank little off the new bottle of coke he purchased before been drawn to take a proper look because of the unusual taste of the drink.

It was learnt that upon inspection, there was precence of some unknown lumps in the coke drink which also happened to be expired.


Further investigation also revealed that most of the drinks at the eatery which is located at the school’s food court, were expired.

The School management however temporarily closed down the "Buka" which sold the drink to the student, while also taking custody the remaining of the expired drinks.

The young man was rushed to the school health centre after been found in a critical condition in his hostel.

A 300 level Medical Laboratory Science, MLS, student of the University of Benin identified as Christabel has committed suicide by drinking sniper earlier today.

Christabel whose body has been taken to the mortuary, took her life in the off campus community, Ekosodin. 

She reportedly left behind a suicide note which was discovered next to her body.

According to Dockaysworld correspondents, the deceased had lingering relationship issues with her boyfriend but its not clear if this was the motivation behind her acts as christabel was a vibrant and cheerful lady.

A video of the final moments a 100 level Chemical Engineering student of the University of Port Harcourt(UNIPORT) identified before reportedly commiting suicide has surfaced.

Last Night, the body of a beautiful young female student of the institution identified as Hikmat Gbadamosi, who was reportedly battling depression was found dead in her after reportedly commiting suicide just 8 days after her matriculation.

It was learnt that the deceased had been battling a medical condition since birth and the resulting pain sent her into depression.

Dockaysworld however was able to get a video of her final moments before reportedly ending her life.

She reportedly consumed two bottles of a poisonous substance on Saturday and was only discovered on Monday after her best friend stormed her room with other classmates to check on her and know why she didn’t show up in school for a test they had yesterday

Nigerian Musician, Burna boy, has shocked his supporters in Zambia after he kicked a fan in the face while performing on stage at a show last night, 30 march 2019, in the country.

In the video, Burna boy can be seen performing one of his hit song on stage with fans dancing and singing along till he suddenly lashed out with a vicious kick to the face of a fan close to him.

The musician who is still in Zambia, has however spoken out about the incident. Burna explained via a twitter post that the person he kicked had tried to rob him several times while he was performing on stage.

He said he warned him several times to stop and proceeded to kick him when he wouldn’t listen. The artiste also added that the person he kicked was not a fan but apologized for how the video looked to others watching.

About four students have collapsed today march 28th, after a fire extinguisher exploded inside a crowded lab in the University of Port Harcourt(UNIPORT) during practicals.

 The incident occurred when a student hit the fire extinguisher causing it to explode in the overcrowded laboratory.

Dockaysworld learnt that the lab had been cramped with over 300 students trying to carry out their various procedures in the tight space. 

The congested room had caused difficulty in breathing which was further compounded when the fire extinguisher exploded releasing its gas into the enclosed place.

 No lives were lost but four students were reported to have collapsed instantly while others tried to resuscitate them after fleeing the laboratory hurriedly. 

The affected students have however been rushed to the hospital for treatment.

A trigger happy Nigerian customs officer has been videotaped shooting an unarmed passenger in Edo State over N5k bribe.

The incident occurred along Benin-Ore road when a bus of people who had been coming back to Benin from outside the country was stopped by customs officers.

They had proceeded to requisition bribes from the bus of passengers. The were was back and forth arguments and negotiation between the officers and passengers.

During the heated discussion, one of the officers cocked his gun and fired at one of the passengers, shooting and killing him on the spot.

He was promptly relived of his weapon and held captive till the arrival of the police.

The 88 year-old is one of the prominent figures in the church. He was defrocked just days before an unprecedented global summit of bishops to discuss child sexual abuse is convened by the Vatican.

The Vatican’s move makes McCarrick the most senior figure to be removed from the priesthood in modern times. He will no longer be permitted to act as a cleric, and is forbidden to celebrate the sacraments except to grant absolution for sins to a person close to death. Only excommunication is a more severe punishment.

The Vatican on Saturday revealed that the action was deemed ‘definitive’ by Pope Francis, hence no appeal would be allowed.

An earlier Vatican hearing had found him guilty of soliciting for sex while hearing confession “with the aggravating factor of the abuse of power” and ordered his “dismissal from the clerical state”.

McCarrick, who retired as archbishop of Washington DC in 2006, was forced to resign as a cardinal last July after a man publicly alleged that he had been sexually abused by the cleric from 1971, when he was a 16-year-old altar boy in New York.

McCarrick denied the claims, but the archdiocese of New York found the allegation “credible and substantiated” and turned the case over to the Vatican for investigation.

Another man subsequently claimed he had also been abused as a child by McCarrick, and several former trainee priests alleged they had been sexually harassed by the former cardinal at his New Jersey beach house.

Since September, McCarrick has been living in a friary in rural Kansas after being ordered to a “life of prayer and penance”.

Pope Francis became personally embroiled in the McCarrick case after a retired Vatican diplomat accused the pontiff of being aware of rumours about McCarrick’s behaviour but failing to take action.

In an 11-page testimony, archbishop Carlo Maria Viganò, 77, a former Vatican ambassador to the US, said there was a “conspiracy of silence not so dissimilar from the one that prevails in the mafia”.

He called on the pope to step down, saying: “Corruption has reached the very top of the church’s hierarchy.” The accusations were seized on by Francis’s conservative enemies, plunging the pope into the worst crisis of his papacy.

Manchester United have confirmed the club paid Jose Mourinho and his staff £19.6m after sacking the Portuguese coach in December last year.

It is understood that Mourinho pocketed £15.4m while £4.2m was shared among his back room staff

Mourinho was relieved of his duties after falling 11 points behind the Champions League qualification places in the Premier League table.

This week, Manchester United released financial results to the New York Stock Exchange, including details of an outgoing fee totalling £19.6m.

The fee was confirmed to be the compensation paid to Mourinho and other members of the coaching staff who left the club.

Immediately after Mourinho’s sacking, Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino was mooted as United’s number one long-term target.

But since Ole Gunnar Solksjaer took over, results have drastically improved. The Norwegian suffered his first defeat as United manager against Paris Saint-Germain
this week.

It remains unclear whether Solskjaer will be offered the full-time job. It is likely to depend on whether United remain fourth in the table – they are currently just one point above fifth-placed Arsenal.

A bored monkey kidnapped and held a 2-year-old toddler hostage so it could have someone to play with and it refused to give the boy back to his family.

The incident is said to have occurred in India, where the monkey can be seen playing with the boy by the roadside. The monkey is seen at a point trying to remove something from the child’s hair.

A woman sees the baby and can be seen approaching to save the baby, but the monkey hugs the baby repeatedly and refuses to let him go.

In the viral video, the woman can be heard saying: “From where did you get the baby, Let me take it home.”

As the woman tried to take the child, the monkey hugged the boy and refused to let the woman take him along with her. When the woman saw that her attempts to retrieve the boy from the primate wasn’t working, she retreated to assess her options.

The baby is believed to have been taken from a house in Haryana, India.

There have been other incidents of babies being stolen by monkeys in India


In another incident, a monkey entered a house in India and pinned a baby on the floor as family members of the child confronted it and prevented it from fleeing with the child. The monkey tried to escape with the child several times but members of the family circled it and aborted its plans.

Two Kenya Airways planes collided on Saturday at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, and thankfully no injuries were reported.

The Embraer planes collided while undergoing maintenance, Kenya Civil Aviation Authority Director-General, Gilbert Kibe, said no injuries were reported.

Captain Kibe said airport safety officials are investigating the incident.

“We will find out what went wrong and we will mitigate to ensure it does not happen again,” he said.

Airport officials have opened investigation into the incident. Mr Kibe added that a disruption of services at JKIA would be inevitable.

“Some flights will likely be cancelled. Every aeroplane has something that it’s doing every day. If two are not available, that will really mess up the schedule,”

“We hope that the flights will come back to normal as soon as possible,” added Captain Kibe.

The troubled airline has been battling to win back the confidence of passengers after a tumultuous couple of years that involved a long-standing feud with pilots’ union, the Kenya Airline Pilots Association, and a shift in top management.
