No, cos the state teaching hospitals too must have attained a MINIMUM standard needed to train doctors. If that is the case, than any MOTIVATED student can attain any height as obtainable in the federal hospitals.

History: UCH, UNTH, LUTH, ABUTH, OAUTH, UBTH. You cannot compare the influence the histories of these schools/hospitals have in attracting the best manpower and the best students across the country. More History, more prestige, more pressure to be among the best.

sainty2k3: My experience so far, there is no doctor from federal or doctor from state university, all we have is good doctors and the bad ones. Any school accredited to train medical students definitely have what it takes to produce a Good doctor, be it federal university or state owned university

Why is the level of applications leavered on state medical school so low, when compared to fed. Schools?

Why is the teaching hospitals of state medical schools unpopular/under-rated when compared to the federal counter-parts?

Why are federal schools superior in the first place?

Will there be a problem during residency for state school medics?

Is it that they don't learn same thing?

Is it that the lab. Implements differs?

Dsimple: Bros make unna no mind me jare, I've been used to d polytechnic system where almost all u need is provided. Buth a friend (course mate) just hinted me dat polytechnics always limiting students potentials by giving u all u need in a particular course which I see a lot of sense in.
May be dats y they say only d genius and d gifted are in d university.

Now this is a new chapter, a new system and a new beginning may be I've got to be more serious and have more focus as u've advised.

Besides I opt in for Business and Entrepreneurship through D.E. I forgo my beloved Econs for this so as to finish in time.

dhope: it is very good to see u swallowing ur pride. kudos to u 4 dt. i can imagine ur situatn and i believe dt learning/schooling has no age limitatn. my advice for u is to go to any o'level tutorial centre ard u,try to get a good private teacher frm there and confide in him ur stand and wot u intend to achieve soon. i can tell u dt within short time period u will see result and u can put in for waec and neco. cheers...
