Sadia1992: Hi mr lomaxx. Im an art stdnt wit a worst mathematical background although my mission bfr i movd to art clas was dat i want to study law bt wen i get to ss2 my broda choosd economics 4 me 2 study an av fal in lov wit d course an afta i sat 4 dis year jamb my score was so low espcialy in math.sud i continue aimin to study economics or i sud chang to law..tnx in anticipation dr. Lomaxx has said it all. Let me add. Ur mission for opting into art was to study law. That has been a normal thing, example dr. Lomaxx moved from art to science to study medicine. Likewise my only motive of opting science was to study medicine and nothing more. Such scenerio is prominent. Just ask ur selve the following 1. Why was i loving law? 2. What changed now? 3. Do i still love law now i love economics? 4. Why did my bro. Advised me to opt econs? If u don't want to be like a chameleon with no definite colour, go for what u love most, if not ur sis may come and advise u to do engineering and u may love it, thereafter ur uncle may advise u to do medicne and u may love it too. What i'm saying in essence is that, don't let people's dictation win urs. If u don't like maths, its different from you don't know maths. So which is it? If u don't like maths, its ok. But u must not be scared of maths. Some people are good in a particular subject, but they pick no intrest in it, there only read it just to pass ur exams. Like dr. Lomaxx will always say "don't hate any subject". If u don't know maths. Then that means u need to work hard, always be on calculations, try to cultivate d habit of solving than reading, that way u wud improve. Make it a habit. If u don't like maths, i'd suggest u find back ur passion for law(a reading course). If u don't know maths, then strive to improve and try your economics again(a solving course). Goodluck to you! |

Suresh08: Good day dr Lomaxx.
I have been a hugh fan of urs, I have been following u even before I joined nairaland and I have been impressed my ur vast knowledge on medical related issues especially..
But one thing I don't seem to understand about u is how u combine medical school and distraction.
No doubts you are good at getting girls (have gone tru every single one of ur post and have tried some of ur lines on girls and it worked.. thanks to u) and u are incredibly intelligent too.
I have learnt alot from u and i am always challenged each time I think about u..
OK now back to the topic.
I am good at math physics biology and chemistry equally..( tho I hate math a little bit because I'm never sure of my answer after a solution) I prefer reading.
I am equally very competitive and confident.
I don't talk much, I believe in action.
I care about a rewarding and lucrative career with future prospect.
these are some of my qualities/personalities..
with this, am I cut out for medicine or engineering?
i took jamb last year but couldn't meet the cut off for medicine and same happened this year. is that a sign I'm not cut out for medicine?
I want to do what I love and at the same time make big bucks but now I don't know what I love anymore. please what do I do? how do I know what I love? or should i just go for engineering?
also at what age is a boy supposed to have a girlfriend? at what age is he supposed to have sex? does having sex make me a sex addict and less intelligent
please help me out, I'm on the verge of taking a big step and I don't want to make mistakes.. thanks.
Oops I didn't plan to write this much!! pls sir lomaxx permit me to add. I believe that u writing jamb twice and not getting the cut, doesnt make u not fit. Medicine is a hard course to get in, but passion is the driving force. Most good doctors today, i believe they would tell u same story that, getting in wasn't easy. If u so love medicine, go for it. Ur previous failure only tells u, u need to put much effort, coz medicine is so competiive. Some pals could get like 280 jamb and not get in, it varies according to competition. Dont be so quick to judge if u're fit or not with mere corrupt external exams like jamb. Answer dis. Ur not meeting d cutoff, what caused it? Is it biology? I believe its only biology and maths that makes d difference in ur utme subjects, was it biology dat lowered ur score? I don't think so. When u should judge wether u are fit for medicine is when u get in and can't cope with d course, den u should be certain. Sorry, if there are typo-errors hope dis helps? Goodluck! |

lomaxx: Good morning. I didn't intend to reply your post this late. I was banned by Antispambot for a couple of days.
I want to start by saying that you should not hate any subject. You may love some more than others, but don't hate it. When you don't hate a subject, you will have an innate desire to improve, no matter what.
Every career is rewarding. What it depends on is who is making the career choice. There is no inherent prospect in any career- the individual involved defines the prospects. If you are proactive, smart, willing to learn and well-oriented, you're set out to succeed.
Deciding between medicine and engineering should be a choice you make and you're ready to defend. I never liked biology from the onset. Maths was my thing. I had an A1 in WASSCE in Mathematics, I was perfect in Calculus but I made a medicine choice, and I also knew I had to like biology. But till date, I don't like it as much as I like mathematics. I made a medicine choice and I'm defending it. If I made an engineering choice, I would have defended it as well.
Don't base your career choice on subject preference, your attitude towards them might change in the future. Choose a career because it is what interests you and it's what you are willing to do. Choose a path, weigh the pros and cons and make a perfect strike.
As for writing JAMB last year and this year and not making it, I hope you learnt lessons. One important thing you shouldn't do is waste time. At the end what is important is being the best in whatever you're doing and doing it with the right attitude and packaging. If I wrote jamb the first year for medicine, and didn't make it, I would have done something else. I believe I can fit into any career path and industry- thats because I'm flexible to circumstances. I know a couple of my friends who wrote jamb for a couple of years for medicine and finally had it. To them, medicine was everything.
I believe with your personality mix, you'd make a good engineer. Remember it's not what you do, but how well you do what you do.
About the girls, I don't know if I'm just lucky or if it's me. When you're focused in what you're doing primarily, every other thing will fall in place. Maintain a primary focus, socialize when necessary and life will fill in the lacunae. I don't believe you should worry yourself about girls. They'll come when they will. The most important thing is to maintain a primary focus. And about sex, the same applies. Maintain a focus, and life will happen when it will/should. exactly. Same with me. And dat made me thought medicine is not for me, not until i developed intrest in biology, now its my best. |

Nairaland General › Re: Meet Chidinma... The Very Same Miss Kedike by Doclight(m): 10:25pm On Jul 21, 2014 |
IGITee: Have you ever had a childhood fantasy or a longing desire? If yes, then you will understand what am about to spill. Let's say what am about to divulge is about a fantasy... a dream... a desire... a wish that I hope it comes true soon.
Sorry I lured you in with the topic but I urgently need your help. Alright, straight to point. I need to contact CHIDINMA... Yes! the very same CHIDINMA... the one, the only, the delectable MISS KEDIKE. I know my chances are pretty slim but am still gonna try. Its kinda a long story but the bottom line is am doing this for a friend but I wouldn't mind hearing her voice or better still seeing her in person though (trying to push my luck).
... after much pondering and thinking, it dawned on me that I had a key all along... NAIRALAND!!!... The home to a sensational group of talented individuals, wouldn't be surprised if Miss Kedike herself happens to be a member.
So, its with all humility that I plead with any one who knows anyone that knows Chidinma, to kindly inform her that in a serene town in Nigeria; God's own land, lives a faithful friend who wishes for her personal contact for a dear friend....
Thanks people! *smiles* meet her on fb and send her msg. She wud respond, if u lucky |
