isoh: Following the fallout of poor UTME and Putme performance for this year, many youngsters are at a cross road on what next for their academic future.
This piece therefore is an unbiased review of the difference between predegree(remedial) and IJMB (Interim joint matriculation board)

PREDEGREE(REMEDIAL)
1.Eight to twelve months programme
2. offers admission to 100L(year one)
3.Requires jamb before admission
4. olevel result must be complete before applying for the programme.
5.Accepted by just one institution (the institution running the programme)
6.Not accepted for all courses (e.g Medicine)
7. Result expires after 1 year
8. cost approximately 150k to run in most Nigerian universities.

9. lectures are revision of olevel topics thus adds little to the students preparedness for university education.


IJMB(interim joint matriculation board)

1. Its a fixed nine months programme
2. Offers admission to 200L (year 2)
3. Doesn't require UTME before final admission as admission is by direct entry(DE)
4. Accepts incomplete olevel and awaiting result
5. Accepted by 75% of all Nigerian universities
6. Accepted for all courses especially medicine, law and engineering
7. Result expires after fifteen(15) years
8. cost approximately 110k to run
9. Lectures are A level, thus it prepares student for university education.

Note: This review is to aid you in your decision making process.

That is the best thing for now, and next year or after your ND, you try UNILAG medicine and surgery, by then you should have understand the school system better, and how you will be the best out of the best in your department, bliv me, doe's people making fun of U, U will bE ahead oF them, BUT, with DETERMINATION

balogundayo: i really do nt understand ur question...do u mean wat year i wrote my waec?, nov/dec 2013 last year..better still, u can rephrase..

balogundayo: I am in a dilemma right now..... my uncle called me and pledged his sponsorship to my education abroad, that really made me happy nd i felt "at last, mo ti bo lowo jamb"....so i was asked to get my waec cert ready, chaii, i suffered o, i had to go to ogba office for 3 weeks, those ppl kept on posting me, even wen i was given on Tuesday, we finally got it after waiting for over 7-8 hours(all this one na story)....

Now the main thing there is, i am applying for media and communications in England and my waec result is the problem, i dont want to get tied in the trouble of not meeting the requirements....That will be a big shame to me nd the family....my result goes thus:

Mathematics.....C6
English.....C6
Literature.....E8
Government.....C4
Economics.....C4
Visual Art.....F9
Yoruba.....ABS
Biology.....B3
Christian Religious Knowledge.....A1

Now i am to resume in England by september, next month....The big question there now is...IS MY RESULT GOING TO BE ACCEPTED
Cos i missed my core subject (Literature)....so with my other subjects complete, i am still now sure if the result can be used...i dont wanna write gce again, u knw, before i get the result nd the certificate nd all that, i dont wanna waste time at home at all, 1 year at home is HELL!!!...

Pls i need MATURE n EXPERIENCED people to share their views nd advice me...No view nd comment is dejected...

maikhel: Wow,i wrote gce in 2011 when i was in ss2,i had distinctions in all(no credit) except for TD and further maths,na f9 i get for both of them. Then in 2012 i did waec,i had Bs and As and a C6 in biology...i didnt do TD and further maths
