Daveconsult:

I can be of bit help but first as someone was went through worst phase I should be in the best position to advice you.
There are different ways to achieve a result. Don't make it's fine you want medicine but when you don't get it, it not wrong you take up the course you are given. You can take up a related course but keep your focus, I know people who kept on writing jamb until 400 level in another department so it has to do with your determination and mind you those knowledge you acquired in that process isn't lost.
My advice is if you are given any other course take it, get into school then take another jamb next year, see your present department as a priority because you could graduate with a first class and go back for direct entry. The truth is medicine is very competitive but if you have the true desire you keep pushing....i have more I could help get you to you career, you can reach me or chat me up with this number 0802 820 9428
Thank you very much sir,I've actually thought about that,that's why I applied for the change of course.

It is with a sad and heavy heart i'm typing this. This is my third JAMB attempt pursueing Law. I am not going to go into details but i don't know,maybe life is just unfair. Last year at AAU,Ekpoma ,i beat my school cut off mark but was denied admission maybe due to quota stystem so i was given philosophy which i declined. Please don't judge me. This year,i was 2 marks short Law cut off mark in Delsu. Please,i need your sincere advice on what to do. I am a delta indigene.
======
I feel that if AAU could be considerate in offering supplentary admission list without extra payment unlike Delsu,i am thinking of processing AAU next year.
=====
Honestly,i am not happy with myself and sometimes i just feel like giving up because i just don't know what to do.
I try as much as possible not to compare myself with my mates who are in school already,but i will be lying if i say the gossips don't get to me sometimes.
Please house,i need your advice. I am a passionate 19 year old-Law aspirant. Please,what should i do?l!!!
My situation now is quite similar to yours,written jamb three times,cutoff released,realizing I'm 10 mks below my cutoff with intensive preparation I put into it can be quite debilitating,but the funny thing is I don't see myself giving up anytime soon grin

Firstly you have to be at ease with yourself knowing that you did your best unless otherwise,if that be the case,try to put in more effort because you can do more,never doubt your abilities cause its all in your mind.

Talking about comparing yourself with others;my dear you're a peculiar person, everyone's race is different,your hurdles might be today,theirs tomorrow but the question now is,Are you able to surpass yours?everyone has got a problem/challenge to fix/overcome at one point in time or the other so face your own life

Get yourself busy with something,I believe you have other interest,develop yourself in it,trust me you won't even have time to get depressed or hear what any gossiper has got to say
Lastly,there's a time and season for everything under the sun,your own job is to keep on giving your best shot and in due time what is yours will surely come.

Education / Re: UI 2018/2019 Admission Thread by DoctorRo(f): 10:07am On Sep 27, 2018
DrBESTJC:
Hello Friends and My bosses here...

This is seriously what I never espected...I have never even given a thought to failure all this while...All my struggles,sleepless nights(studying),prayers,mindset and even the very air I breathe everyday of my preparations were all channelled towards SUCCESS . Imagine,I was so convinced that I will get admission to study MEDICINE this year that I have bought my school bag and some other things.

When my JAMB results were released this year(2018),I was very happy and elated when I saw 303 as my score.I continued to study and prepare for the UI PostUTME with zest.When the results were released, I saw 73 as my PostUTME score and 74.375% as my aggregate score.I was sad and worried because my target score is not less than 90. When I remembered that UI cutoff mark for medicine last year(2017) was 71.88% , I kept my fire of hope burning...but not without serious prayers and fasting.

Now,the cutoff mark for medicine this year has been pegged at 76.5%, and as you can see, I am just like 3 marks away from the cutoff mark.Since yesterday when I saw the cutoff marks,I have not been able to sleep.It is very very painful.

But friends,I am not here to ask you to pity me...no no no....This is my 4th failure since I started to pursue MEDICINE and I have learnt to brace up and struggle harder after each failure,....No matter what people will say..... I am writing this to seek counsel and sincere directions on my next line of action because I believe that a problem shared is half solved.Now,my questions are :

1) Since my score is high enough to get another course, I am thinking of doing a COC to courses that will allow me cross to medicine in year two like biochemistry,human Nutrition and physiology....but I heard that those courses are not advertised on the COC.....Is it true ?

2) What other courses can I go for apart from the aforementioned ones ?

3) If after accepting any other course, can I stay in the university(UI) and write JAMB and PostUTME again in the same UI in 2019? .... Can I abandon my present course then and accept admission to study medicine in the same University of Ibadan?

4) If I should decide not to accept any admission UI will offer me whatsoever(because my passion is seriously tied to medicine), do you think (from experience) that I will be able to study well if I get a job and come back for jamb next year?...The job will take like 8hours of my time everyday.I cannot just stay at home studying for a whole year idle...an besides nobody is willing again to give me any money for anything until I enter school,not even for jamb....because my people have given up on me.

5) Also on the Job issue,I am planning to buy a laptop and an android phone from my savings,but I am thinking of how I can convert it into a good source of income. Please friends,I am alone in the world now... I need to survive. What genuine and profitable online business can I do in my part time to make ends meet ? ......I have heard that students can work online and earn a decent pay,but I don't know much about it.If you are into any one of them,I would like to have your contact...

Please save a soul today.!

cryreading this making me all teared up,I seriously know how it feels to prepare hard for something and not get the result you want,it makes me remember Hab 2:3,which makes me never give up on the pursuit of what I want,don't worry all will be well soon.
Talking about online biz,can I pm you.

So happy for Nigerian Christians. They happen to be born in the right region (east,west and south),born in the right families (Christians), introduced to the true God (indoctrinated) and will sit by his right hand side while those born in the "wrong religion" go to hell (delusion).
But that's not attributed to "Religion"alone,its the norm of any of any aspirer,a culture if you must attain anything

Get back on your feet and start dreaming again,"Most of life's failures are those who didn't know how close they were to success before giving up".

Have a new plan and start working towards it,I believe with discipline you'll achieved that which you planned.

Talking about what to do next, you can start learning a skill.
