Yes it is. I believe the reason why Russia hasn't been able to do so in Ukraine is because both the airspace and land in Ukraine are contested. Shutting down starlink terminals took the US by surprise. This is something not even Russia has been able to do in Ukraine. Iran itself doesn't possess that capability either. It meant only one thing. China had gotten involved.

Late last year, the CIA and Mossad concluded that China was helping Iran rapidly rebuild its ballistic missile program. They just weren't sure how extensive China had gone. Out of an abundance of caution, the Israeli presidential jet was spotted in Greece earlier in the week though it is not known if Netannyahu was on it.

Israel knows that Iran now knows that the David's sling and Iron dome defense systems cannot handle saturation attacks from ballistic missiles and Iran still has plenty of those. Bomb shelters were opened and Israelis were urged to be on the alert.

It is also worth noting that Saudi Arabia and Qatar, two middle east countries where the US has some of its largest military bases, warned the US that they will not permit the US to use their countries as staging areas for strikes.

This scrambled the plans the US already had as they had already positioned KC-135 Stratotankers (aerial refuelling tankers), in Qatar. A carrier strike group was also already on its way to the Persian gulf.

Iran had through unofficial sources warned Qatar and Saudi Arabia that should they allow the US launch strikes from their territories, it would target every possible oil field and refinery it's ballistics missiles could reach. A global disruption in oil supply is definitely not something the US, Saudi Arabia nor Qatar wants. So the US has backed off for now.

The Iranian revolutionary guard knows that any attack by the US would be to permanently disable them. They have signalled that if they go down, they'll take the global economy along with them. No US president wants a recession on his watch. So Trump backed down.

The situation over there is still very fluid but the US has achieved one thing already. With the Iranian military on high alert, every radar station Iran has to spot advancing enemy aircraft was activated and the US now knows where they are.

Trump surprised many during an Oval Office Q&A on Thursday, saying, “We’ve been told that the killing in Iran is stopping, and it’s stopped, it’s stopping. And there’s no plan for executions, or an execution, or executions.” He later added that his administration would take a “wait and see” posture before following through on Trump’s promise to intervene if Iran killed protesters, which it has done en masse in recent days.

The Times added some background to Trump’s apparent flip-flop, reporting that “Netanyahu spoke to Mr. Trump on Wednesday, the same day the American president said he had received information from ‘very important sources on the other side’ that Iran had stopped killing protesters and was not going forward with executions. That appeared to signal that Mr. Trump was backing away from a potential U.S. attack on Iran, which he has been weighing for days.”

The Times noted that Trump could also be following the same playbook he used when he struck Iran in June, which included contradicting signals as to whether or not he would order the strike.

Other U.S. allies in the Middle East — Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Oman and Egypt — also asked Trump not to attack Iran, warning of a “wider regional conflict,” reported the Times.

A bit of a background how all this started. In 2019, then Senator Tom Cotton, submitted a letter to the Trump Whitehouse. The letter contained some documents that placed urgency on the need for the US to acquire Greenland. Danish intelligence determined that the documents were clever forgeries produced by Russia. It was a few weeks after this that Trump publicly mentioned for the first time that the US was interested in Greenland.

One of Trump's billionaire backers in his second term, Ronald Lauder, a man who has met Putin many times, has active interests in the mineral resources in Greenland and has bought a freshwater company there. He, together with Palantir Boss Peter Thiel (co-founder of PayPal with Elon Musk) are behind the pressure by Trump on Greenland. Peter Thiel is the one who insisted that Trump pick J.D Vance as vice president. His company, Palantir has been rewarded with contracts worth billions of dollars as a result. Peter Thiel wants to build for himself a technologically advanced community on Greenland, an exclusive community he will lord over.

It gets interesting. Bill Gates, Michael Bloomberg, Sam Altman, Jeff Bezos and the present US Commerce secretary, Billionaire Howard Lutnick have all invested in companies in Greenland. Guess who were sitting on the front row seats in Trump's second term inauguration ceremony? All the men listed above.

Greenland possesses no strategic military value for the United States. The US already has a military base there. This is all about billionaires using Trump to claim fresh pristine territory.

The ice sheets in Greenland are several miles thick. It will take tens of billions of dollars in investments before the mineral resources in Greenland can even be accessed and this is not something that can be done in less than 5 years.

Denmark has given its soldiers an order to shoot at sight any US invading force. Germany and France have committed to sending troops to Greenland. Even though they will stand no chance against the US, at least they will show intent. It is unfortunate though that any attempt by the US to invade Greenland will result in the end of NATO and that's exactly what Putin wants.

In other words, TACO has chickened out again. After gingering the Iranians to rebel against their government such that thousands of them lost their lives, Trump has backed out. A wimp of a president.

They took a huge gamble and failed. They thought the planned maintenance operation in Dangote's refinery was going to result in downtime plus they were hoping with the huge demand for petrol during the Christmas and New year, Dangote wouldn't be able to meet up. They hoped they'll make some quick bucks. Well now, they've fked around and found out.

They can't release the figures because it will show that the unemployment situation in the country is a disaster.
