I've seen all response to your post well my first inter state was from Enugu to lagos after 2 years of driving.where am afraid in your case is that the eldest is 20years and claims to know the route.hmmmmmm its good to take risks some times because i feel you guys are about to take one . the road is far and bad but i think you can do it by doing things as follows
1, check that your car is in good condition especially your tires
2,make sure all occupants had a good nite rest and don't allow a fast sleeper to be in front
3,make sure u keep to normal speed don't do pass 100.highest is 120
4,don't overtake because you saw others doing so
5,don't chase on other cars when they over take you
6,play normal music don't play slow music might send you to sleep
7,don't travel with alcohol or cigaret in the car all smokers should cool down till u get to the destination
8,make sure your spare tyre is not flat,your jack and whiner is ok,
9,make sure you have you extinguisher and your c caution is ok
10, when u see oncoming vehicle that over taking and taking your lane slow down and clear the road for him don't insist on right of road to avoid head on collision
finally make sure your car papers are complete and up to date to avoid police men wasting your time
with all this u will be fine den get your confidence back
