loma, Roughcut When you reduce the quantity in your NigerianSecurities portolio, You can put in the resultant cash in the cash box under the total market value below. So debit quantity and credit cash. I find this usefull so that i can track my cash position is with my broker. |
Unbelievable, i am able to log in and logiut of NSE's website with ease ![]() Here is the price from NSE's website as of today. It tally's with what Nigeriansecurities have currently. Good to see some convergence. Last friday was crazy. Any one with the bid and offer positions? |
wanajo, Nigeriansecurities sent this out to all people who enquired about price discrepancy last friday/saturday. They sent an excel list that has the two last results published by NSE. They were done in the early hours of 2.00am and 5.00am on saturday respectively. I guess this is a fallout of the problem they had. consolidated hall mark is not on the results NSE published on . It does not show on any of the other sites either. I wonder why ![]() Meanwhile here are the results |
Now i can finally trust NigerianSecurities. They told me they scan and update their database periodically so that in the fianl analysis the data is right for their tools which we are becoming dependent on in this forum thanks to AKGbosa and pumice. They truly lived up to it. Their prices almost immeditely also reflect the new changes NSE just made when you compare it to the excel sheet. AKGbosa, i beg light the candles. |
My Goodness, late at night can u imagine this NSE people oo. todays report just changed on NSE's site like that before my korokoro eyes |
Pumping I sought clarification from NigerianSecurities and they promptly replied me. Their focus seems to be on tools and ensuring that at the end of the day their tools have accurate data. As a result they make it a point to pull data from NSE several times during the day the final one been 4-5 hours after trading is complete. The developed this system cause they have observerd in times past that final results have changed even hours after trading as ended as that is the only way they can ensure their data is correct for their tools. Yesterday for instance they claimed that NSE came up with a final position and they had two excel extracts from NSEe that were different. The latest one was what they updated their site with much later. |
grabdaloot:Just compare what they have posted with this which i was lucky to get on the epileptic site of NSE. Which one of the following sites have results that match with this are the credible ones |
This is the price i copied down into excel from NSE website a few moments ago. I will go with that. It is also what is on zenithsecurities and nigeriansecurities. TRW brokers have CSCS's version, but i know they rush to publish results and therefore they publish interim resuts. They dont however change it . CSCS in my experience is highly incompetent. The CSCS online thing i have been struggling with. it does not show anything since i paid N2500 over 6 months ago. Of recent thanks to pumping , i was able to get their number. My beggarly approach of "sir sir sir " which Nigerians love to hear even when you have paid for the service is not even working . Thank God for the margins. If not for the margins ![]() |
oops |
Pumping and did you put you US phone number there ? |
Pumping, i beg can you give me the number you got through to CSCS with |
SOS. Good day all the gurus. I paid N2500 to CSCS for the ability to view my cscs account online. However when i log in . It is just blank. It does not show me anything. Someone please advise on how i can resolve this. Please, My broker may be messing up my transactions |
Also, another thing that can be responsible for this is that the fianl values may not be available till much later. I have seen times when by 12.00pm American time here. NigerianSecurities and zenithsecurities adjust their results. This suggessts that when all this providers pull data from the NSE earlier, they are served what is available as that time. its just up to them to ensure that at the end of the day they are corrected. |
@ all I beg, which price is correct for today, All the online reports (Meristem, NigerianSecurities, CSCS,TRW) have divergent numbers,
if you want authoritative source of a result . zenithsecurities and nigeriansecurities is where to look. Those two entities are on a different league of their own. I have noticed that TRW rushes to put out results and therefore have a lot of mistakes. Nigeriansecurities howver because of thier focus been on accurate data because they are about tools and the accuracy of their data. TRW have nothing to loose when they publish inaccurate data. They may be the first. But Nigeriansecurities and zenithsecurities are the most reliable. Infact i have never seen both of them differ on any result |
Reuslts at last have been posted on Nigeriansecurities http://www.nigeriansecurities.com/dailyposition.php Has anyone seen the dividend and the bonus tracking system they have introduced on Nigeriansecurities. They are evidently the site to subscribe to. Maybe i am just lightheaded as my portfolio on their site shows a green day for me ![]() |
Do the ca eniyanman:The capital importation certificate is used to monitor inflow for business purposes so that applicable taxes are taken out both in the destination country abd the country the capital originated. I am not advising you to skip taxes, but, if you live in te US. IRS will demand for their share based on the capital importation certificate. |
Hi guys, Check out the the technical analysis tool on nigeriansecurities. They have data as far back as 2007 and you dont have to worry about updating daily data for aptistock if you have gotten aptistock to work. Unfortunately i have not been able to get aptistock to work making this timely. I can at least now focus on using the indicators instead of trying to make them work |
the volume indicators show that there has been a strategic mopup of unitybank for the last 40days |
NIgerianSecurities have put back there technical analysis tool. http://www.nigeriansecurities.com/nstadlx.php I have compared some indicators with the bloombergs plots of some local stocks and values match. i was considering doing a certification on the excel sheet and the almost impossible Aptistock which in my opinion is not designed for mere mortals like me. Thanks Bigjayi and others anyway for trying at least to help us make sense of Aptistock |
TS on AIICO will likely be lifted tomorrow according to their prospectus. Where do you guys see this stock getting to |
Hi Guys, quick break from technical analysis class. Can someone tell me what they have as the RSI for UNIC and DANGOTE SUGAR at end of business today 16th jan 2008 Thanks |
Insurance seems to have recovered. The bleeding has stopped http://www.nigeriansecurities.com/dailyposition.php Does any of you have their portfolio with NS Portfolio Expert, i noticed they have been doing a lot of work on their NS Portfolio Expert. I logged into my portfolio and i saw this bonus feature that allows me to apply bonus issues to my portfolio easily and calculate my true profit and loss factoring capital gains , bonus issues and maybe later dividends. Kudos to those guys. |
At least we know, they are thinking in that line, i hope they finish it up soon and at least free it up for sometime to allow some us practice to get to the levels of easimoni and bigjayi. |
HEy Guys, I dont see the Technical Analysis tool on the NIgeriansecurities website again. Looks like they were testing |
Easimoni , and guys etall YOu guys have done a terrific job and a horrifying job at thesame time moving this page to 298. I have been forced to go through everypage so as to get rid of the nagging feeling of "missing something" |
Hi Guys, Happy New Year to everyone May all the stocks in our portfolio be courted extensively by the bulls in this year 2008. Let me start my posting this year on a positive note to dispute the nay sayers who have predicted the elusive market crash. T. Rowe Price recently started an international fund focused on Africa and the middle east. From its inception in sep. This fund has done close to 30%. UBA, GTB are amongs the stocks that are in the mix . I have brought this up to emphasize that the market will only get deeper and more efficient in the coming months. We have seen the first indications of this as the typical december price depression was not like prior years if there was any at all. I also want to encourage particularly individals who have recently joined this forum to add all the advice they get here to deliberate acts of education. I have in the time i have been away on this forum taking up the challenge of trying to understand Technical Analysis having come to the conclusion that it it has is relevance in the scheme of maximizing profits on the NSE. I hope God given me strenght to drive the discussion on combining technical analysis with fundamental analysis in a constructive manner so that we can all understand since moreover, we all have a free platform for examining indicators as applied to Nigerian stocks and educate one another with thesame chart views. |
News Flash: could this be the reason why AP is moving northwards http://www.nigeriansecurities.com/shownews.php?url=http://www.nigeriansecurities.com/news/AP.htm |
FRIDAY AND MONDAY IS THEREBY DECLARED A PUBLIC HOLIDAY ON THIS THREAD. This is to allow people to catch up with the posts so far put in. Thank you |
UBA just released their results. Found it on www.nigeriansecurities.com http://www.nigeriansecurities.com/shownews.php?url=http://africa.reuters.com/country/NG/news/usnL27145096.html |
pumping, well said |
Gentlemen I understand that you can not compare apples and onions. My point however is that it is thesame market that looks at all this tocks. The basis for investing in any stock by this market as far as we all know is earnings potential right?. Whether you are investing in banking, food or insurance, you are looking for who will give you the best value for evry naira you put. MY pseudo table above simply showed implicitly what that market generally seems appropriate to pay for each unit of the stocks. This comparison is valid across sectors because the denomiantor is common. "Earnings" . Now companies may have diff operatioanl challenges and advantages peculiar to the sector they belong to. However a non sentimental investor will look at earnings bottom line. (Earnings for each naira i put in which may translate into bonus issues, dividends or capital appreciation) Riddle Guys if i said to you here in one hand is ogbomoso grown agbalumo which if you buy for N1 today you can sell for N1.50 (and earn 50K)in three months and on the other hand i have californian glade grown oranges in the other hand which if you buy for N2 you will be able to sell for N2.25 (and earn 25k) in three months. Will you still need to look for the price of another strain of agbalumo say bakasi grown agbalumo (same sector) to tell you that the ogbomoso grown agablumo is a good deal. My point is there are somethings that are obvious at the high level which further investigation only underscores. |
Pumping, I saw in the thread that you intended taking a position in dangote sugar. What is your outlook on this stock. If we do not even go in depth to number cruching, it is easy to see that if the market feels N47 is the right price to pay for 7UP for for projected EPS of 2.53 N61.50 for CONOIL for projected EPS of 2.88 N 56.20 for UBA for project EPS of 2.04 N 46.69 for FBN for projected EPS 1.75 or less N52.48 for Ashakacem for projcted EPS 2.05 The market will wake up to determine that N36 is not the right price for dangote sugar with Proj EPS of 2.65. |
