THIS SITE IS A JOKE!!! HOW CAN IT BE CALLED NAIRALAND WHEN ABT 98% OF
IT'S CONTENT IS NOT NIGERIAN. I SUGGEST IT SHD BE RENAMED DOLLARLAND
INSTEAD COS THERE'S PRACTICALLY NOTHING NIGERIAN HERE.
TV/Movies / Re: 22 Things We've Learnt From Nollywood!: N Counting Of Coz! by dolly9: 11:39pm On May 02, 2010
Ok, let me also state the things I've learnt from the "flawless" hollywood since they are many(They are soo many that I can't remember all of them)

The lead actor  always win in the end,
One man can kill about 500 armed people at once.
Most  romantic movies must  have an explicit sex scene.
People can shoot at the lead actor several times but never get him (on the contrary,he can kill most of them with just one shot)
Animals and humans can interact freely as if that's how it is in life.
Unnecessary sex, immoral lifestyles and violence are glorified.
A pistol can kill people whiles it tumbles down the stairs(true lies)
Most horror movies must include some strange creatures  pursuing some innocent with women screaming unnecessarily(if they scream in nollywood u complain)
Some storylines are just plain stupid (meet the spartans) I cursed myself 4 watching that movie.
Usually in action/thrillers someone can jump 4rm a skyscrapper but will not die.
The police wait till there is destruction before u hear their sirens.

The villain cannot be defeatedby anyone unless the superhero.

In hollywood everything can fly including humans, cats, dogs, cows etc.

All these things are so unrealistic and does not add any important value 2 my life (only 4 entertainment).
TV/Movies / Re: N'wood Vs Bollywood: Which Is Close To Hollywood In Technical N Creative Quality by dolly9: 6:04pm On May 02, 2010
Is it not better to create your own style or be original than 2 copy someone. When will u people stop dis useless comparison between hollywood & nollywood just 2 ridicule the latter.
Who does not  know that all those effects they use in hollywood are fake but u still enjoy and believe them. Besides is America and India not far advanced in technology and in their economy than Nigeria and Africa in general. So what are all dis baseless arguements abt. It is either u choose 2 watch  nollywood or hollywood. Afterall no one will put a gun 2 your head to watch what u detest. I like all the industries cos  they're all unique in their own ways but I'll choose nollywood over both hollywood and bollywood combined. Don't hollywood also glorify indiscriminate sex, nudity and violence etc which has contributed immensely 2 all these social vices in the society.
TV/Movies / Re: Shame On Nollywood! Fela Is About To Get His Movie In Hollywood. by dolly9: 4:56pm On May 02, 2010
Who cares? He can take it to whereever he likes. These are the people who wont contribute anyting to the industry and yet complain abt
every single effort by the practitioners. At least 4 me I buy and watch them and know 4 sure that they're improving.Shame on all haters because nollywood will
be there forever and ever.
TV/Movies / Re: Petition To Scrap The Nigerian Movie Industry by dolly9: 9:35pm On May 01, 2010
Scrap it?Try it if u can. Instead of u offering words of encouragent 2 the most promising movie industry in Africa u want 2
to destroy it. Do u thk everyone is interested in those fake, silly storylines in hollywood. I tried to find any nice hollywood production 2 watch on abt

12 different channels on the sky tv pay channel in the UK today but couldn't find any. So does that mean Hollywood shd be scrapped. I don't know
why when it comes 2 to the black man, any thing done by his brother is crap. If u don't like them then don't even watch their trailers afterall one man's meat is another man's poison.
TV/Movies / Re: Avatar Sucks! by dolly9: 9:07pm On May 01, 2010
I agree wit all of u that the movie sucks after all the hype and the oscars. I was so disappointed in James Cameron from the great titanic to this one. Oh wat a
shame and people will complain abt nigerian movies not getting them(oscars). What's the big deal abt the oscars anyway when crappy movies like avatar win most of them.
TV/Movies / Re: Nigeria Has No Movie Industry! by dolly9: 8:38pm On May 01, 2010
So what if they don't have an organised film industry. The bottom line is they have a large number of fans and are improving. Who cares if u don't watch them.
jmoore:

Nigeria has no movie industry. What Nigeria has is a home video industry.it is unfortunate that players in Nollywood don't know the difference between a movie and a home video.

I am yet to see a Nigerian movie. All our films have been shot on low quality, low cost cameras.
So much noise for the third largest film producer in the world, go for quality and not quantity!!!

TV/Movies / Re: 2012 by dolly9: 8:27pm On May 01, 2010
Why shd I watch such crap abt fake disasters. The overhyped hollywood movies nowadays are all abt the visual effects, unreasonable and weird storylines like avatar nothing to write home abt. I would rather a nigerian movie with a reasonable storyline than waste my tyme on dis one.
TV/Movies / Re: The Figurine Raises The Bar For Nollywood by dolly9: 7:10pm On Apr 25, 2010
You guys are just impossible. If u thk they're crap why watch them. Afterall no one forced u to. I don't remember the last time
I watched a hollywood movie in full. They're too unrealistic ,only nudity, violence , vulgar language and a weird storyline all in the
name of making them complex. Nollywood all the way.
