SportsArgentina’s Defeat A Kick In The Face – Maradona by dolu2007(op): 6:32pm On Jul 05, 2010
Diego Maradona‘s future as Argentina coach is unclear after the team‘s devastating 4-0 defeat to Germany in the World Cup quarterfinals on Saturday.

A third-minute goal by young Thomas Muller stunned Argentina and Joachim Leow‘s young guns obliterated the Argentines after the break with Miroslav Klose netting a brace and defender Arne Friedrich scoring his first for his country.

The defeat was Argentina‘s worst since the 4-0 hammering by Holland back in 1974 and head coach Maradona said that he felt a deep sadness following the game in Cape Town.

”The day I stopped playing football could be similar, but this sadness is really strong,” admitted the 49-year-old.

”It‘s tough because the idea was to go beyond this match and be among the four best teams and we didn‘t achieve that.

“We all had this hope and dream and we were just thinking about winning and the opposite happened.”

Maradona has been through a lifetime of highs and lows, but the 1986 winning captain admitted that Saturday‘s humiliation was the hardest thing he had ever faced.

”I lived through this in 1982 as a player. I was a boy and didn‘t realise the importance of things.

”Today (Saturday), I‘m nearly 50, I‘m mature and this is the toughest moment in my life. It is really like a kick in the face. I have no more energy for nothing,” he said.

PoliticsBankole May Recall Suspended Members by dolu2007(op): 5:57pm On Jul 05, 2010
Two weeks after a fracas in the House of Representatives led to the suspension of its eleven members, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dimeji Bankole, today indicated that the estranged lawmakers may be recalled from their suspension.

The Speaker made this known to National Assembly Correspondents when he visited the City Royal Secondary School, Nyanya (a suburb of Abuja). The students of the school were at the gallery when the free-for-all, which caused a national outrage, broke out.
Findings by Vanguard also indicate that most members of the Reps are of the feeling that the suspended member should returned to the House.

The Speaker’s visit was an apparent move to redeem the image of the Speaker and House which had sank to all time low since the incident.
Bankole, during the visit, profusely apologised to the students over the incident and also exhorted them to respect the law.

After the Speaker had finished his interaction with the Students the Press asked if the House would forgive the Eleven member of the Progressives Minded Legislature (PML), led by Dino Melaye (PDP/Kogi) who sparked off the exchange of blows as the students watched from the gallery, the Speaker said, “it is a beautiful idea and we will surely consider it”, he said, “we would consider it, absolutely”, he added.
“We are adults”, he said, “and we have the responsibility of managing ourselves”, he went on, “and I can tell you that we will come to an amicable resolution”, he said, then hurried into his official vehicle, and drove away.

He did not say, when the members would be recalled.

Christianity EtcRe: What Do Rastafarians Really Believe In? by dolu2007(m): 12:45pm On Jul 05, 2010
There are two types of Rasta religious ceremonies: Reasoning and Groundation.

Reasoning
A "reasoning" is a simple event where the Rastas gather, smoke cannabis ("ganja"wink, and discuss ethical, social, and religious issues. The person honored by being allowed to light the herb says a short prayer beforehand, and the ganja is passed in a clockwise fashion except in time of war when it is passed counterclockwise.

Groundation
A "groundation" (or "grounation"wink or "binghi" is a holy day;[14] the name "binghi" is derived from "Nyabinghi", believed to be an ancient, and now extinct, order of militant blacks in eastern Africa that vowed to end oppression. Binghis are marked by much dancing, singing, feasting, and the smoking of ganja, and can last for several days.
