PoliticsRe: Fashola Weighs In On Lagos Street Naming Controversy, Warns Against Erasing by DomPerignon: 11:35am On Jul 30, 2025
If I recall, street naming in Lagos as per non major artery roads but that connecting nominal neighbourhoods used to be done by naming the street after the first individual to develop his or her property on said street lane

That's why if you take any random street in say Mushun surbhub you will find that the individual whose name bears the street has a residence or building on same street.
PoliticsRe: Uncovering Suppressed Yoruba Histories: Igbo Settlements In Yorubaland by DomPerignon: 11:31am On Jul 30, 2025
So they are no longer Jews but are now the original proto Yoruba people.

This is absolutely shameful to say the least.

Nothing but cultural and racial inferiority can lead to such madness

At this rate , they will be claiming to be the original Han Chinese, Nippon people and even Eskimos.

This is absolutely shameful.

PoliticsThere Are More Ibos In Lagos Than In Any Of The 5 Ibo States by DomPerignon(op): 10:38am On Jul 29, 2025
According to one poster here who opened their usual chest bearing thread, Ibos are 45% of Lagos population.

If so, going by 2006 census that put Lagos population at close to 10 million and relying on Biafra ministry of Lambastic statistics, that means Ibos in Lagos are at least 4.5million..

For same 2006 census, no state in the SE had a population up to 4.5 million .

So that means there are more Ibos on lagos than in the any SE state.

Is this not pathetic ?

Igbos constitute 45% of Lagos population and that make them a majority tribe in Lagos, the remaining 55% is divided among other tribes Hausa, Ijaw, etc, with Yorubas struggling to grab 40% even Egun, Awori doesn’t see theirselves as full Yorubas, if not for intimidation and violence against Igbos in elections, Igbos will almost win all senate and house of rep seat in Lagos.
It's a shame that a so-called majority tribe is boasting that they are a vast majority in another man's land so much that they boast that they are 45% of the over 20 million residents in Lagos.

That means there are more Ibos in Lagos than in any of the SE states.

What a pathetic display of shame .

Then go and declare it so and begin to boast that you developed it and so own it.

I wonder why you are not longer declaring Sabon Garin in Kano as no man's land
PoliticsHow Sabo Garin In Kano Became Known As No Man's Land by DomPerignon(op): 7:48pm On Jul 28, 2025
When the British entered a military treaty with the fundamentalist Islamic Fulani Sultanate (northern Nigeria was never colonised), the British requested from the Amir of Kano a parcel of land outside the old city gates to house their auxillary soldiers, labourers and other unskilled servants.

This was very necessary as the fundamentalist north back then never permitted non Muslims in their midst.

The area carved out for this new settlement (Sabo Garin) was not to fall under the jurisdiction of the Muslim rulers but rather will be policed by the British Penal system.

It's for this reason that some group of settlers unwittingly assumed that Sabo Garin was not under the Amir and went about claiming the place was "no man's land".

Even after the British left, the "No man's land " mantra became loudest despite the entire north now handed back fully to the Fulani hegemony.

It took very drastic measures by the north to end the no man's remark.

Zik was very limited. Calabar or PH would have rivalled or surpassed if it were made the regional capital.
Zik was an atypical greedy land grabbing Ibo man that had his eyes set on controlling Lagos .

It was Zik that vehemently rejected allowing all of Lagos to be under Western Nigeria.

Ojukwu who had declared his rogue Biafra was still salivating for Lagos to the point that he dared to invade and conquer it.

Zik"s greedy and his arrogance towards minority people was why he insisted on having Enugu as capital of eastern Nigeria.

As far back as 1951, the minorities in the defunct Eastern region began immediately agitating for their own region.

It's for this reason Zike neglected the coastal provinces and instead channel all resources to build a rural coal town in the interior of Ibo land as the capital.

Zik was shortsighted by his own typical Ibo arrogance and bigotry
PoliticsWhy Are They Not Declaring Abuja "No Man's Land"? by DomPerignon(op): 7:24pm On Jul 28, 2025
95% of Lagos state was not part of the federal capital . Most of Lagos was under the administration of Western Nigeria .

Abuja on the other hand was declared FCT and every inch of it belongs to the FG.

Lagos is no longer FCT since IBB moved the capital to Abuja.

Since then, the FG has not in anywhere treated Lagos as a federal capital

The only time Lagos ever was treated fully as a federal capital was during Obasanjo's military junta.

After the return to civilian rule, most of Lagos reverted back to indigenous rule and had an elected civilian governor in the form of Jakande.

So the only time the entirety of Lagos was treated as a federal territory was during the very brief military junta of Olusegun Obasanjo and that was between 1976-1979.

On December 1983, the military struck and truncated our democracy. During this period, late Buhari did all he could to rubbish Lagos by halting the proposed Lagos rail line. No meaniful development was witnessed under Buhari and later IBB and Abacha other than the construction of the Lagos Third mainland bridge and central mosque in downtown Isale Eko.

Abacha came in and totally neglected Lagos and concentrated on developing Abuja.

It was IBB who ordered all heads of MDAs and their appointed ministers to relocate to Abuja and Abacha effectively ordered the entire Civil Service located in the defunct ikoyi secretariat to relocate to the newly constructed Federal Secretariat located in Central Area , Abuja.

The infrastructure investment made by the FG in Lagos pales in comparison to Abuja.

If you are confused were your federal capital is, pls note that it is Abuja and not Lagos.

I wonder why they will now leave Abuja that has "Unity" as it's slogan and be dragging Lagos ?

Paraventure Nigeria is to breakup or rather you are to be granted your exit out of Nigeria with your five states, will you still remain in Lagos and be dragging it with the real owners?

Imagine lagos was never the capital of Nigeria for a day, without federal government built seaport, Airport, bridges and multinationals huh

Just imagine
Imagine Zik had concentrated on developing Calabar or PH to rival Lagos but instead he decided to make Enugu the capital of old Eastern region purely out of continuing Ibo marginalisation of the coastal minorities

Before there was an Abuja there was an Enugu that pillaged the resources of minority people to build an Ibo city

PoliticsWhat Were They Expecting After Collectively Hating Yorubas by DomPerignon(op): 5:53pm On Jul 28, 2025
I don't understand how hypocritical a people can be.

They have been attacking and insulting Yorubas and openly boasting that they own and will take over a major Yoruba state, Lagos .

They have been gaslighting Yorubas just as they did the entire Fulani race for 8ys under Buhari .

Their major "hero" , Nnamdi Kanu had been on the forefront instigating hate towards every other nationality in Nigeria with Yorubas taken second place brunt after the Hausa/Fulani.

But today, they accuse the Yorubas of hate all because Yorubas want to reassert their sovereignty in the wake of an open Ibo aggression to take over Lagos.

But today Yorubas are tribalist bigots.

What a set of fellas who would later play prominent role in the politico-military affairs of Nigeria. No thanks to the Saraduna's crave for northern regain of political dominance of getting young northerner recruited for military training based on mediocrity at the expense of the merit as index of assessment by the colonial masters back then.

Sadly they would be part of those who bastardized Nigeria to the abysmal state it is today given their trademark revolving musical chair game of coup plotting. This is because almost all of them except General Abdulsalami Abubakar were highly skilled and expert coup plotting merchants.

Under the Land Use Act 1978 )LFN) (an existing law), all land belongs to the Federal/State Government (as the case may be) so land does not revert to ancestral owners but to government. Even what you call possession is only a Right of Occupancy evidenced by a Certificate.
That's Obasanjo's stupid decree that was never domesticated anywhere after he left office as a military dictator.

Ancestral lands are stil recognised in the SS and SW.

Maybe in your erosion ravaged village , FG owns all lands but it's not applicable in both the SS and SW.
