Now divide SE resident population by Incidence report of crimes and you will see that SE had a 30% rate which translates to 1 in 3 people in the SE are prone to be victims of a violent crime.

Do that for the NE and see it drop to 15% which is 1 in 6 people being prone to being victims.

At 30% compared to 15%, SE had a 100% higher rate of crime prevalence than the Boko NE.

So that says that SE is the most crime ridden zone.

No port technological upgrade can ever see to Onitsha port being viable .

You are landlocked and trying to have direct access to the sea is impossible owing to the water level depths along the river Niger .

The second niger bridge sealed the fate of that port. What were they thinking? I don't want to mention the sand bars all the way to the port. So even the littoral ships will probably run aground just gun boats. Dredging the river niger into Onitsha is feasible but has served a a money pit just like the refineries mentioned. Barges at best may have a short at it but still not economical unless lifting from Warri ports (Onitsha is faster by road haulage than barges). So that port serves no economic sense now.

To stop NPA incurring further loss in keeping that mroibound and poorly conceived port open, its best the Navy commandeers it and turn it to their base and dockyard to serve gunboats .

I even forgot to factor the low clearance ceiling of the second Niger bridge and the sandbars that were dumped when constructing the bridge.

This has made the port now totally incapable of handling ocean going vessels or even blue sea naval ships even the littorial class.

The only thing now is to repurposed it as an interior naval gun boat and helicopter landing base.

I know the navy has a river base in Lokoja and this Onitsha port can be repurposed as another river base and dockyard.

With one of the lowest resident populations, SE had comparatively a higher crime rate compared to every other region.

For example :

If ten people generate Ten million naira to share equally, that will be one million per person.
