Making such defamatory statements about someone's personal life isn't free speech especially when it is meant to bring ridicule and disrepute to someone's character and personal and public image.

They have always been having issue with statistics as if they don't do mathematics in secondary school.

If the crime rate in Lagos state is for example 1,000 per year and Anambra state recorded just 400 per year, it means Anambra crime rate tripled Lagos crime rate based on population . If the crime rate in Bayelsa state is 300 per year and Imo state 400 per year, Bayelsa crime rate is higher than Imo state. It's simple mathematics

Them arguing confidently on something they are not sure is just something ridiculous
Imagine the OP saying population is irrelevant when computing crime rates after I drew Hus attention to the fact that the SE he is glorifying as peaceful has the highest per capita crime rate compared to every other region.

Stats is done based on percentage not population ... If a region has 10 million and has 5% crime rate and another region has 50 million and has 2% crime rate

The later has a higher crime based on percentage not demographics or population

Get it
Spewing trash as usual.

If it was wealth generation per region , you will embrace GNP as a yardstick .

New Orleans is not the largest city by any stretch in the US and Chicago has the highest reported murder cases but if you check the FBI crime stats , you will see New Orleans being rated as the murder capital of the US because based per capita, you are most likely to get murdered in New Orleans than you would in Chicago.

People commit crimes so population is important when comparing crime rates per state/region.

With less than half of the population of the NE, your SE recorded just less than 25% of reported crime in same NE.

If we adjust for population using per capita,we saw that 1 in 3 people in the SE will be victims of a violent crime compared to 1 in 6 in the Boko ravaged NE.

Let's look at it using economic indices like GDP and GNP.

The US has the largest economy with China, Japan, Germany and India following behind. This is from GDP.

But in terms of GNP, tiny Luxembourg and Qatar are adjudged the richest country per capita due to low population.

Now replace GDP with total crime recorded and then divide it by the total population and you will see your SE having the highest per capita Gross Net Crime to be the highest with SE having twice the crime rate at 30% than that of NE at 15%.

Hence, SE has a comparative Gross Net Crime Rate at 100% or double that of the NE.

If you adjust for population, SE at 22 million residents, NE population of 50million , that is 22:50 approximately 2.27 multiplied by NE crime recorded at 8 million. SE would then have a projected crime record of more than 16million if it had the same population as the NE.

Your stats proves that SE is indeed truly the crime capital of Nigeria.

Where did you get that 22 million resident
I know you didn't even read your AI prompted slop to know that in your copypasta , your AI put SE resident population at 22 million and NE at 50million.

So a population more than twice the SE and one facing a dragged on insurgency only recorded 25% more crime recorded than your SE.

And if you understand per capita, you will see that your SE with its relatively lower population that is less than half of the NE has a per capita crime rate at 1 in 3 or 30% of the population being more prone to being victims of a violent crime compared to NE at just 1 in 6 or 15% of the population and this is the NE which has several local govts under the control or facing daily assaults by two major terrorist organizations.

Now go back to your ret@rded AI and ask it to do a comparative analysis of crime rates using per capita.

I have been telling you guys here who have one tab permanently open on your dumbed down AI machine that AI is only good in the hands of who wields it.

And Igboho is from Yoruba land and Yoruba land is in South West
I had already answered you in the other thread that you first posted this AI slop.

Let's break it down for you and your gullible audience.

With just 22 million residents, SE recorded 6.2 million crimes.

Per capita, that brings it down to a crime rate of 1 in 3 people in the SE will be victims of a crime, thus having crime rate at 30%.

Now compare with the NE that has more than twice the population of the SE at 50million but with recorded crimes at 8million which is just 25% more than what the SE recorded at 6.2 million.

Per capita, this brings crime rates in the NE to just 1 in 6 people being prone to be victims of crime which stands at 15% rate.

With this figure, SE recorded 100% crime when compared in per capita terms at 30% to that of NE with just 15%.

Note that NE is facing a full blown dragged out insurgency that has been ongoing since 2009 which to a larger extent is why the crime rate has exploded.

Now let's assume that 90% of the recorded crimes in the once peaceful NE are attributed to insurgency , you will then see that crime in same NE is far less than your so-called peaceful SE.

South East is the safest region in Nigeria in 2025.

Don't just take my word for it. This is what the numbers say, straight from the National Bureau of Statistics and the European Union Agency for Asylum.

Let me break down these official numbers in plain English, so anyone can understand. I will show you the types of crimes hitting each zone hardest, and why stable governance is a big reason the South East is on top. I will also give you the hard stats on deaths, armed robberies, and kidnappings from reports up to mid-2025. You will see that the northern zones sadly take on 80 to 90 percent of all this bad news.

First, here is the big picture. From May 2023 to April 2024, Nigerians reported a total of 51.9 million crimes.

Now, let's go zone by zone.

NORTH WEST 👇👇👇

This zone alone had 14.4 million crimes. That means almost one out of every three crimes in Nigeria happened here.

Main Crimes: Banditry (armed gangs raiding villages for ransom), mass kidnappings, and arms smuggling.

Deaths: Over 3,000 people were killed in just the first half of 2025 from bandit raids.

Armed Robberies: 157 reported cases in 2023, and it got even worse in 2024 and 2025.

Kidnappings: A massive 1.42 million incidents. That is 63% of the entire country's total. We are talking about weekly school kidnappings in states like Katsina and Zamfara.

NORTH CENTRAL 👇👇👇

This zone had 8.8 million crimes.

Main Crimes: Farmer-herder clashes (bloody fights over land), abductions, and communal violence that burns down farms.

Deaths: Around 1,000 people were killed in the first half of 2025.

Armed Robberies: Very high, with dozens of home invasions every week in places like Plateau State.

Kidnappings: Over 1,000 abductions in 2023-24, with mass kidnappings in Benue State.

SOUTH WEST 👇👇👇

This zone had about 7.5 million crimes.

Main Crimes: Urban problems like armed robbery, carjacking on Lagos roads, and cult clashes between rival gangs.

Deaths: About 400 crime-related killings in the first half of 2025.

Armed Robberies: 136 cases reported in 2023, leading the country for city crimes.

Kidnappings: 225 tracked in 2023-24, with an increase in kidnappings in upscale areas near Ogun State.

SOUTH SOUTH 👇👇👇

This zone had about 5.8 million crimes.

Main Crimes: Pipeline vandalism, gang activity in the Delta creeks, and kidnappings at sea by militants.

Deaths: Roughly 500 from cult wars and oil sabotage in the first half of 2025.

Armed Robberies: Over 100 cases in hotspots like Rivers and Edo states.

Kidnappings: 295 abductions in 2023-24, including people snatched from boats off the coast of Bayelsa.

NORTH EAST 👇👇👇

This zone had about 5.5 million crimes.

Main Crimes: Terrorism from Boko Haram and ISWAP, including bombings, daily village attacks, and abductions.

Deaths: Over 1,500 people were killed from insurgent attacks in the first half of 2025.

Armed Robberies: Lower, but mostly linked to the general chaos of the terror insurgency.

Kidnappings: Over 1,000 in 2023-24, including hundreds of women and children taken from camps.

SOUTH EAST 👇👇👇

Now, let's look at the South East. This zone had 6.2 million crimes. Wait, that number might look high at first, until you check the population.

The South East has only 22 million people, while the North West has over 50 million. When you divide the number of crimes by the population, the South East has the lowest crime rate in the entire country.

Even looking at the raw numbers, it is still safer than every single northern zone, and also safer than the South West and South South when you focus on the really serious crimes like kidnappings, killings, and bandit attacks.

So, what are the crimes in the South East?

Main Crimes: Mostly low-level stuff like petty theft (someone snatching a phone in a market) or the occasional communal clash over land. No daily bombings or mass village raids.

Deaths: Under 100 in the first half of 2025, mostly from isolated cult clashes.

Armed Robberies: Low, with about 80 to 100 cases per year.

Kidnappings: Just 214 tracked in 2023-24. This is tiny compared to the millions in the North. Most are low-ransom cases, not mass abductions of school children or church congregations.

Why the South East is the most stable on governance.

The EUAA report points out that the South East has better state control and community policing. This means our governors and local vigilantes actually work together to hold ground against troublemakers. We don't have the chaos of northern insurgencies or Delta militancy.

Northern zones score very low on global governance indexes because their institutions are weak, which lets violence spread. In the South East, our stability stops the fire from getting out of control. This means fewer high-profile deaths, a quicker police response, and communities that are more likely to report crimes.

So, in simple terms, here is the safety ranking:

1. South East – Safest (petty theft, occasional land disputes; strong local control).

2. South West – Second (robbery and cults; busy cities but better policing).

3. South South – Third (oil sabotage and gangs; the resource curse is real).

4–6.The three Northern zones – Where the real fire is burning (bandits, terrorists, herder wars; weak governance lets it rage).

The only reason many people, even some Igbos, think the South East is a war zone is because of bad PR. Pure and simple.

Our South East governors are not loud enough with the true story. Good PR is not about lying; it is about shouting the real facts from the rooftop so the whole world can hear, including how our stable governance stops big crimes before they can happen.

You see people from other regions mocking Igbos online, calling the South East a "terrorist zone." I have even seen some people in Delta State saying they don't want to be grouped with the South East because of "insecurity." Brother, the joke is on them. They are running away from the safest zone to places where pipelines explode every month.

Whenever someone tries to prove the South East is unsafe, they always bring up old stories from years ago. They cannot name anything big that happened last week or last month because nothing like that is happening, all thanks to that quiet stability. Meanwhile, in other zones, fresh bad news is coming out almost every day. You do not have to go looking for it.

Our South East governors need to wake up, come together, and push the true image of our region hard. They need to share the facts on crime and our governance wins. And we, the ordinary people, must also help by sharing the real facts every chance we get.

Facts do not lie.

South East is the safest region in Nigeria today.
Arrant nonsense.

Even going per capita, with just 22 million people and recorded crime at 6.2million, SE still remains the highest .

If NE that is facing a full blown insurgency which has exploded crime rates has 50 million people with recorded crime of 8.2 million, that means SE with less than half the population of the NE but a crime rate just 25% less has a higher crime rate than the war torn NE.

Putting it into per capita , with 22 million residents and 6.6 million recorded crime , that is one in three people will be victims of a crime.

Compared to the NE of 50millon , and crime recorded of 8.2 million, this gives us a figure of one in six people or just 15% of the population facing full blown terrorist attacks .

So with 30% of SE residents prone to be victims of a crime compare to 15% in the NE, doesn't that tell you that SE is more crime ridden than the NE?

If we then exclude terrorist attacks and presume NE has returned to pre Boko Haram era, you will find that the SE will be the crime capital of the country.

As long as no shipping company will want to make Onitsha a port of call, for the reasons I earlier stated, it is till going to be moribund.

The only alternative is to have a barge shipping company that will take containers from Lagos , PH, Warri up to Onitsha but that will be more expensive for the importer and it will be wy cheaper to just move containers by road .

PoliticsOnitsha Port Should Be Handed Completely To The Navy by DomPerignon(op): 9:21am On Dec 21, 2025
Since its inception and commissioning by the Shagari govt on behest of VP Alex Ekweme as the head of the Presidential Economic Team, Onitsha inland port has proven to be an immense waste and poorly thought out project.

There's a thread currently up here that showed revenue generated in terms of Port charges and Custom duties paid by all other coastal ports including land border ports at Seme in Lagos and Ilela in Sokoto bordering Niger republic.

All these ports generated significant funds to the national treasury.

The report however excluded Onithsa port because not one dime was generated from that port.

Isn't it economically the best thing to do to cut the massive losses that Onitsha port is incuring on NPA books since its inception and have same port deregistered as a civil merchant port and hand it over to the Nigerian navy?

The Nigerian Navy has a fleet of litorial flat haul vessels that can use Onithsa as their base.

The base can also be the naval base for other smaller river gun boats which can be used to patrol upstream of the Niger up to Kainji and also navigate up along the Benue river. The same port can also serve the lower Niger with its small gun boats. Note that having Onithsa, Lokoja, Kainji and strategic naval dockyards along the Benue-Niger trough will serve a long way in dealing with terrorists that are operating along the middle belt.
PoliticsRe: Ondo Deep Sea Port To Serve Nigeria, West Africa — Aiyedatiwa by DomPerignon: 7:07am On Dec 21, 2025
DeLaRue:
Ports, Ports, Ports.

It is good to build Ports if it is absolutely needed.

However, I don't believe a modern new port will completely transform the economy of an area like Apapa Ports did for Lagos.

Lekki Ports is a good example. Despite handling hundreds of billions of imports and exports, you won't even know there is a port there when you drive past it.

The largest port in the UK is in a town many people in the UK have never heard about. The 2nd largest port is in very small town of about 25,000 people most people have never heard of.

Same with the largest port in France.

Modern Ports operate like a transit point. Goods arrive, your truck comes, picks it up, and head straight out of the port, so no endless waiting in or around Lagos, no hotel accommodation needed etc The is even no need for hundreds (or thousands in the case of Apapa) of warehouses as truck move in and out of modern Ports so quickly, they are able to leave the port town within 2 hours and head for their destination without stopping in the port town for anything.

So the economic impact of a modern port on the area it is located is minimal.

This is not an argument for not building Ports. They should be built only where they are needed.

I just think people have an exaggerated expectation of the transformational impact of a modern port.
Every Port in Nigeria apart from Onithsa port is viable not only to the port authorities but also to the host communities.

Note that all coastal ports in Nigeria handle both imports and exports .

Onitsha port is a dead and unssutainble project because it only handles imports as there is nothing SE can export to the world.

Any shipping company will rather use a port that they can both offload and onload. This isn't possible with Onitsha.

Also note that nvigating the low waters upstream to Onitsha can only be carried out by flat and low haul vessels which thus makes importing goods through Onitsha extremely expensive as there lo haul vessels have a much lower tonneage capacity that will see them lift only a limited amount of cargo all the way from China and then navigate upstream into a port like onithsa that they are sure they will be returning back empty.

Onitsha port is the worst investment ever conceived by the FG.

And we all have Ekweme as VP and head of the Shagari economic team to blame for such rubbish.

Ekweme also got Shagari to liberalise importation at the detriment of our local industry . Ekweme is the father of ''my container go soon land'' people who not only destroyed local industries but saw to an import based economy that has drained our FX reserves, loss of jobs, and a pressure on the currency to sustain an unsuitable import based economy.

And don't tell me Obi had no control over James Nwafor when all the cases he was handling should have been trialed in an Anambra state court .

Obi had the powers to constitute a judiciary enquiry over the flood of petitions both locally and from international rights organization but never acted.

Same Obi even intervened and had the then IGP not transfer Nwafor out of Akwuzu SARS and same Obi even introduced Nwafor to his successor to be appointed CSO to Obiano.
