*Catholic Church Debunks Rumour Of Omo-Agege Not Being A Christian, Says He's A Committed Member*

Amidst speculations that the Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, is not a Christian, the Catholic Church (Universal Church), whose faith he practices, has come to his defense.

The Church said Omo-Agege was not only a Christian, but a baptised, practicing and dedicated member of the Catholic Church.

A statement issued on Saturday by his Parish Priest, St. Jude's Catholic Church, Effurun, Delta State, Very Rev Fr. Mark Ikeke, said Omo-Agege is a member of the parish.

St. Jude's Catholic Church, Effurun, is one of the parishes of the Catholic Diocese of Warri, Delta State.

Fr. Ikeke urged Deltans and Nigerians to disregard such speculations, and appealed to political actors to respect sacred lines.

"Our attention has been drawn to a claim or rumour that one of our parishioners, Senator Bar. Ovie Omo-Agege (Deputy President of the Nigerian Senate) is not a Christian.

"For the avoidance of doubt, Senator Bar. Ovie Omo-Agege is a baptized, practicing and dedicated member of the Roman Catholic Church. He is a member of and a communicant in St. Jude Catholic Church, GRA, Effurun in Uvwie LGA.

"We recognize that this is an election season. We must however encourage our political leaders and their supporters to strive to uphold decorum, respect sacred lines and show love to all in their campaigns. We hope and pray that our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ should thoroughly guide our actions and inactions.

"The sole purpose of this information is to encourage decorum and also to uphold the truth regarding the Senator's religious identity", the statement read.

PoliticsGod Has Numbered The Days Of Okowa's Reign And Brought It To An End by Don70(op): 9:38pm On Mar 07, 2023
Mene Mene Tekel Upharsin

The time is now and the signs are ominous that these words as written on the plastered wall of the banquet room of king Belshazzar have also appeared on the walls of Okowa's office.

The book of Daniels 5:25-30 captures the present predicament of Okowa. Mene Mene Tekel Upharsin is what Daniel is interpreting to Okowa in a contemporary political setting.

The last 7 plus years of Okowa's reign, he has behaved like Belshazzer with power. And with the handwriting on the wall, he is running from pillar to post.

Okowa has been and still is vindictive with power. In these recent times of OBIDIENT movement, after his brazen betrayal of the southern region, he has consistently stifled opposition space with brut force and highhandedness. He failed to approve venues for Obidients to converge and express their political interest as supposed in a free society. The is the spirit of Belshazzer at work.

In the last few days, the Obidient movement were to meet and strategize with DSP Ovie Omo-Agege. They were hounded from place to place just to frustrate the meeting. What level of vindictiveness is that?

I read with consternation the circular going round asking civil servants to take leave of their jobs to attend a meeting with the governor! He is the head of government for almost 8 years now. What is that issue that cannot be passed through the established bureaucratic channel of government that requires all cadres to abandon government duties to meet with the governor at Asaba today?

The civil servants may be civil with their jobs and duties. But they understand the emperor who has shrunk their space of positive gyration for the last 7 years. They know who refused to pay them improved minimum wage, who deprives them of due promotion, who made skewed promotion a norm in Delta state. The civil servants are also mindful of the hell retirement is under Okowa. They are wiser than Okowa give them credit for.

The religious card too is one hell of a flop already. Greasing the Palms of religious leaders is not a window to the minds of our people. We are wiser and we are answering the call of the Almighty.

The hand that wrote on the wall has instructed our minds to work out the salvation of Delta state from the stranglehold of maladministration as represented by Okowa and his agbero-in-son stooge. We are ready to fulfill the written words by seeing to the end of Okowa's reign and reign by proxy.

The state is alive to the call to serve upon senator Ovie Omo-Agege. We are attentive enough to know he is the Daniel that has come to judgement. He is prepared and graced to deliver on the EDGE to BAND agenda.

God bless Delta state

PoliticsSheriff Represents The Aspiration Of Okowa, Not That Of Okpe And Urhobo People. by Don70(op): 11:52am On Jan 18, 2023
SHERIFF REPRESENTS THE ASPIRATION OF OKOWA, NOT THAT OF OKPE AND URHOBO PEOPLE.

By
Oghene Sly

The controversy laden governorship candidate of the PDP in Delta State, Rt Hon Sheriff Francis Oborevwori does not in any way represent the aspiration and projection of the Okpe people. The Okpe people are not slaves and will not sell their birthright for a pot of porridge.

Sheriff, a known thug and motor park tout, who has been involved in several dubious cases and acts of destruction, has no business championing the future direction of the proud and culturally rich Okpe kingdom of the Urhobo people.

Okpe is one kingdom in Urhobo land that has celebrated and renowned scholars, seasoned administrators, captain of industries, wealthy and successful business moguls preceeding the colonial era.

In a saner clime, folks like Oborevwori, an established tout, should ordinarily be relegated to managing mentally unstable persons with records of violence. A man with contradictory personal identity (a bipolar syndrome?), parading a borrowed or forged Ordinary level certificate(SSCE), who can not constructively make a sentence, and painfully as it is, an errand boy to a wicked-clannish Judas Iscariot, who is now drowning in his ocean of malicious intent to control the state through Sheriff, his proxy!

A proxy to the Owa-Alero hegemony cannot be said to represent the respected Okpe kingdom, and by extension, the Urhobo people.
The voice of Jacob, the hand of Esau governorship does not represent the clamour of our people.

As a representative of Okpe in the Delta State House of Assembly, and the Speaker of the House for over six years going, aside the forceful takeover of community lands in Osubi, insistent harassment and brutilization residents, Francis Oborevwori has no other signature achievement to show.

The Okpe people are wise and educated enough to read this bold handwriting and well packaged deceit!

FamilyRe: My Wife’s Salary Was A Mystery Until I Discovered How Much She’s Truly Worth* by Don70(m): 10:44am On Mar 26, 2021
izito:
*

In 2016 she told me her salary was #50.000 And then two years later, when she got promoted, I asked about her salary and she said, “Oh these people, don’t mind them. They added only #5000 to my old salary. Because of her meager salary, I’ve taken up so many responsibilities in the house without complaint. I pay for utilities and pay for food. I pay the fees of our two kids, clothe them, and take care of their medical bills. When my wife sends me a grocery list, she adds sanitary pads. She buys dresses and clothes, comes to show them to me, and asks me to pay for them. She started talking about a car when our second child came in. Things weren’t good on my side so I asked her to give me some time. She said, “I’ve saved something. I can add it to what you have so you pay me when your money comes.”

I agreed and took that money from her, topped it up to get her a car. For three months my ears never rest. She would wake up at dawn and ask me to pay what I owed her. I got tired and paid the money when I didn’t have much in my account.

One evening, I turned my laptop on and saw a lot of emails. I checked and it was my wife’s email that had been opened. I asked her, “Did you use my laptop?” She answered, “Yeah I was checking something.” I told her, “Then you didn’t log out.” She answered, “I forgot. Please log out for me.” I was about to log out when something caught my attention. I saw a mail with the subject, “January Payslip.” I opened and started going through. When I saw her gross salary, I was shocked. #400,734? And this girl has been crying poverty?

I went through the details. That night I couldn’t sleep. I was angry. I felt let down. I felt cheated. I felt played. We’ve been married for six good years and my wife earned that much without my knowledge? How much she earned didn’t bother me a lot than what she was using that money for. I decided not to talk immediately but rather do a little bit of investigation.

All my life I’ve held the view that it wasn’t right for anyone to go through their partner’s phone. It’s an invasion of privacy and it breeds mistrust in the relationship but that night, going through her phone was the only way to find out what I was looking for. I started with her best friend. Nothing much was found. Her family had a Whatsapp group. I read the messages there. I got few hints. I went through the chat with her father and that was when I realized my wife had bought a piece of land and had started building. Her father was in charge of the project. He had sent photos of the various stages of the building. At some point, her father said, “Thank you for helping out your brother. He would have been home had it not been you.”

She has only one brother—her senior brother. I went to look for the chat between them. Her senior brother lost his job and was home doing nothing so my wife bought her Hyundai i10 to use for Uber. Every week, her brother rendered an account and they split the money. From all indications, my wife was doing well for herself while she plays poor so she could rely on my salary. Why would she do that? I thought I was being a supportive husband so my wife could be proud of the man she married. When we bought land, it was her name and my name that appeared on the land title. That car I bought for her with a loan from her bears her name. I didn’t mind. I believed what’s hers was also mine.

The next morning she realized I wasn’t looking well. I was boiling on the inside but looking for a good opportunity to start the conversation. When I calmed down a little, I asked her, “So why would you do that to me?” She asked, “What have I done?” I answered, “You bought land, you never told me. You started building on it, you never told me. When are you going to tell me?” She was shocked. She asked, “Who told you all that?” I said, “Your father did.” She stood quiet for a while. She asked, “Why would my father tell you all that? What were you people talking about” I said, “I don’t know. You can ask him.”

We left it there. Some minutes later she came to me with her phone: “My father wants to talk to you.” The phone was already on a loudspeaker. His father was clearly angry. He asked, almost shouting, “You said I told you my daughter has a building? Where did I say that and when?” I asked, “Is it not true that my wife has a building project going on that you’re supervising?”  He asked me, “I told you that?” I asked, “Is it true or not?” After the back and forth I told them, “I read your messages last night. I saw the pictures. I read the various budget you had sent to my wife. I read the confirmation of the money receipts that you sent her. You’re a man. Would you be happy if your wife does this to you?” He started fumbling. He started apologizing saying he thought I was aware.”

My wife stood there motionless, didn’t know what to say. When her father hung up, I told her everything I knew, from her salary to the car she bought for her brother. I said, “Yet, even your sanitary pad, I buy them. You think I’m a fool? You’ll use your money to acquire your own properties and live on mine because you’re my wife? I hear. We’ll see.”

Trust was lost. Love was broken. We had to find a new way of living our lives going forward. Her father called me every morning and evening apologizing for everything and sometimes taking up the blame so I didn’t have to blame his daughter. I told him, “The emotional state I’m in right now, it would be hard to think straight or think forgiveness. Just give me space.” Three days later, they were in our house. The father, the mother, and the senior brother. They came to apologize. “Don’t let this break up the beautiful marriage you both have. If nothing at all, consider the kids and be lenient in your judgment.”

I listened to them. My position was still the same. “I need time to clear my mind. Just leave me alone to think.” From last month to this moment that I’m writing this, my wife had changed totally. She doesn’t ask for money but the house is being run smoothly. She has started paying for things she never paid for but that doesn’t move me. She has taught me a very great lesson and I’m taking it seriously. That in everything, I have to look out for myself and my family first. Last she told me, “If you want us to change the names on those properties, we can do so.” Guess whose name is on the property…her father’s name.”

I told her, “You don’t need to change anything. They are yours. You suffered for them so you can decide what you want to do with them.” The land I bought has our names. I’m selling it and take my money back. The car she’s driving has her name. I put a for-sale sticker on it some weeks ago. She agreed she’ll pay for the car. I’ve given her two months to pay up or I sell it and take my money. She’s getting the message and I’m glad. Each one for himself, God for us all. She keeps asking if I’m going to leave her. I keep telling her I won’t but if she wants a divorce, I will gladly give her. I’m not going to leave the marriage. I would give us some time to heal and see what may happen but when it comes to money, I’ve taken the lesson she taught me through her actions.

*What's your take?*
You need to do a DNA test for your kids. You can't trust her in anyway.

OMO-AGEGE CONDEMNS SARS ATROCITIES
..... CALLS FOR CALM, THOROUGH INVESTIGATION

The Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege has condemned the activities of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).

He expressed concern over the incessant cases of extrajudicial killings, harassment, illegal arrest and extortion of defenceless citizens by some officials attached to SARS in different parts of Nigeria.

Specifically, the Deputy President of the Senate cited the alleged shooting of a man by operatives of SARS in his constituency in Ughelli, Delta State over the victim’s alleged refusal to allow the operatives to search his phone as well as another shooting of a youth in the town by men of the ‘Operation Delta Safe’ over the victim’s alleged refusal to allow the operatives to search his phone to buttress his argument on the need for comprehensive reforms and overhaul of security units in the country.

Senator Omo-Agege called on the police authorities to fish out the culprits for prosecution, stressing that this will serve as deterrent to others.

While calling on security personnel to always maintain the rules of engagement, the lawmaker urged youth in the area to exercise utmost restraint while investigation is ongoing.

"Those who are authorised to bear arms and maintain law and order in the country ought to understand that such must be exercised with responsibility especially when human life is sancrosant.

"I hope those who are quick at pulling the trigger would adopt strategies that would foster mutual understanding between them and those they are tasked to protect, in their bid to save the lives of Nigerians. It would be a depressing twist of fate for them to be listed among those contributing to the list of the dead in this challenging period globally," he said.

PoliticsOmo-agege Condemns Brutal Attacks On Nigerians, Calls For Decisive Action by Don70(op): 8:03am On Sep 04, 2019
Omo-Agege condemns brutal attacks on Nigerians, calls for decisive action.

“Monday's fresh attacks cannot be allowed to go the way of others”.

The Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, has described the latest attacks on Nigerians living in South Africa by its citizens as callous, cowardly, inhumane and a dastard act that should be condemned by all.

Omo-Agege, who said he was personally appalled by the glaring debasement of humanity with the gross bestiality displayed in some video clips of the attacks being circulated on the social media, said he is pleased that the Federal Government is taking a tougher stance on what seems to have become a routine by some elements in South Africa who randomly inflict pain, anguish and death on foreigners, especially Nigerians.

He noted further that the “Senate is without question in support of necessary steps by President Muhammadu Buhari to save Nigerians in South Africa and resolve the totally unacceptable pattern of extrajudicial killings of our innocent citizens”.

He said as a believer in the application of the law in tackling any act of criminality, he was never against the security forces in the country deploying the instrumentality of the law to track and punish offenders.

However, he emphasized that irrespective of simplistic official explanations now being advanced by South Africa, what happened on Monday was a clear case of demeaning xenophobia and a display of hatred for a particular set of people for no justifiable reason.

"I'm still shocked by the level of violence on display by a set of people presumed to be our brothers not just because we are from the same continent but also because we have a shared history.

"Nigeria, it must be said, played crucial role and made great sacrifice towards the emancipation of South Africa from the firm grip of apartheid. I wonder how things got this bad that law-abiding Nigerians living in that country have suddenly become prime targets for killings, arsons and destruction. No doubt, Monday's fresh attacks cannot be allowed to go the way of others since it appeared past efforts at interrogating the horrific visitation of violence on Nigerians yielded no positive result in curbing the mindless horror.

"The strong message that should be sent to the South African government and its people is that the life of every Nigerian matters and Nigeria would no longer tolerate the violence being visited on our people under whatever guise or excuse. Those behind the latest killings must be fetched out and punished while due compensation should be paid to the families of the victims.

"While I commiserate with all those who lost loved ones and valuable properties during the violence, I urge the Federal Government to seize this moment and stand up, as it has always done in the past, for its citizens' rights regardless of wherever they may be in the world. This abuse must stop and it must stop now!" Senator Omo-Agege stated.
